Trying to find a small wood stove to put out in my oldest sons room. It's getting colder than a mother-in-laws kiss lately. His electric stove is a little on the anemic side. It almost takes a truckload of gold bullion to buy one.
Time to dig 'Ol Blue out of the back yard, and start restoring her ('67 Ford F-100 pickup). I've got a 460 ci. motor and a lot of good parts for it. It'd be a great toy!
In my whole life, I just never could get over my fascination for fast powerful machines. Hasn't killed me yet, but I've come real close a few times. I always liked living on the edge. Like to see how far you can get out there...and juussst get back! Lol.
Well, my airplane is gone. The guy took it last Friday. Later, if I still want one, I'll make some money, and buy one flying. I'm too old to build one now. Working everyday...it would take 3-5 years of dilligent work. It is a very daunting task to build an airplane...however, very rewarding.
Made the monday hunt. Sounded like a Nam firefight all around us. Lead flying everywhere! One of the dogs jumped a bird right next to us. All 5 of us cut loose...tree limbs, leaves, brush flying everywhere. My last shot, I saw feathers, but he kept on going until out of range & flipping us off. Don't know how it got through all that lead! Took...
If I don't lose some weight, I'm going to have to hire 4 guy's to haul me into the hunt on a sedan chair. I keep reading about how age is supposed to be the best teacher. Who ever's saying that, keeps forgetting that it also kills all of its students eventually.
Me and "Junior"(dog) and the guy's are going on the pheasant clean-up hunt at O'Neal Forebay monday morning at 0 dark thirty. Gotta be there REAL early, 'cause they only let in 40 hunters. The state sponsors Ladies and Juniors hunt. You think they'd have one for old vets...suuuurrrrrre! All we get is the tailings. That's ok though...we'll take 'em.
The guy's here from Wisconsin to buy my airplane. Inventoried EVERYTHING! And I mean EVERYTHING! Spent all day doing it. He checked every stinking part, and part number. The only thing he didn't count was the damn slivers in my fingers from opening and closing the crates 50 times a piece!
I'd like to find out who came up with the phrase "Golden Years." So I can kick him right in the sack!...with my left foot...can't do it any more with the right.
Went pheasant hunting Saturday at the China Island Federal Preserve. The last hunt was on foot...4-5 miles. It almost killed me. Still hurting...so is "Junior"(dog). Lots of birds...more bad shots! A bird flew up behind me, & almost knocked my hat off when he came by. By the time I came down on him, and got the safety off, he was long gone. We...
Got my new 2009 rule book from SCTA for Bonneville. Thinking about running a "Lakester". Wade's talking about building something else. We wan't to run a BMW M88 6 cylinder engine...they're brutes! It'd be perfect for running in the 'F' class. We are also going to run fuel (nitromethane). We can't afford a streamliner, so the lakester is a good...
Me & Junior (dog) went to work out at the gun club again, and it was hotter'n the tin roof over hell out there! I was high pressure washing the deck I'm re-finishing, and I hit a big nest of yellow-jackets. I got stung on the ear-lobe before I could get the hell outa there. Junior was getting swarmed, and he was fighting back and snapping at them,...
Hi Renee, Yes, I heard you were in town. A friend of mine said he talked with you, and Ivy said she heard from you too. Your welcome to come and visit any time. You have lots of family here. George Henry Steinberg, and Carmalita are your great great grandfather and grandmother. They are both buried together, out at the old 'Cottonwood' cemetary,...
