Bad parenting advice
December 21 at 9:42 am - poobah.tumblr.com - Link
What's embarrassing: When we go to the store and one of the kids, get concerened, "You didn't get beer (or wine)" and I say, "That's right." or somthing flippant and they freak out, practically yelling, "Mama, buy some beer!" - Anika Malone
Freudian slip by placing both items in same isle ;) We don't have that problem in PA - beer sold at beer store, wine sold at State Store. - jlt (janet)
I don't know about baby, but dkb needs beers and wines ... - dkb
"Baby needs beers & wines" and its parents do good stick:) - Igor Poltavskiy
It depends on who "baby" is if this is bad parenting advice. People are getting younger... - Pete D
Makes sense really to put them close by. The more children I had the greater my alcohol consumption became :P - Penny
+++Penny - Anika Malone
i think it is pretty normal because that's the statistics : the people who buy baby needs, buy more beer (one of my lecturer told that) - İzzet Emre Kutlu
So do I! - Jeff P. Henderson
Efficient. - Gabe Boisvert
sure thing this!!!! - Anurag Gupta
Bad parenting advice? This is awesome parenting advice; I wish my parents gave me that advice. - Jamelle

and all those who were waiting for the 5D MarkII wept - jerry
At least it appears the new 5D will also have the Digic IV, whenever it comes out. It's Digic II currently, I believe. - Dave Roth
this might be the year I jump on the DSLR bandwagon and this camera seems like it will be a good way in. - Ben Reierson
I had the 40D, and could not have been happier. . . until I get a 50D in my hands. I highly recommend the jump, Ben. - Dave Roth
The 5D Mark II will likely be released next month at Photokina in Germany. Stay tuned. - Thomas Hawk
I have the 40D and am anxiously waiting to see the new 5D to decide if I make the leap to full frame. - Jeremy Hall
@TH really now? Think they released the 50D just to get people salivating? - jerry
It'll be interesting to see what the new noise reduction feature is capable of. If it's good enough it might keep some from jumping ship to Nikon. - Michael Schuermann
I look at this in a different light. I want to buy a 40D and I'm thinking my pricing options are going to look better and better. Anyone selling theirs for the 50D? :) - Jeremy Kunz
I'm curious to see how the new DIGIC IV performs. - Norman Hammer
I'm curious how it will compare to the rumored Nikon D90 that has video capabilities and perhaps built-in GPS (or at least a port) at about the same price point. http://gizmodo.com/5041567/fir... - Jordan Hofker
built in GPS and geotagging would be an awesome feature for any camera. I keep dreaming that the new 5D might support that but I highly doubt it. - Thomas Hawk
Oh bloody hell. And here I was still really satisfied with my D300... if they go an release a camera with built in GPS, I'm gonna be really pissed. And probably give them more of my money. - Eric P
I can't tell if it's built-in or just a port to easily support it (perhaps an add-on for later purchase?) Video seems pretty big in a "get people to move up to a DSLR" kind of way. - Jordan Hofker
Yep, here's the D90 - HD video and geotagging: http://gizmodo.com/5041991/nik... - Jordan Hofker
Yes, but geotagging only with an optional accessory. DPReview writes the GPS unit will also be compatible with the D300 and Nikon's other latest cameras. - Ole Begemann

There are a lot of FriendFeeders on here, and I'm sure that's no accident. - Louis Gray
Thanks for sharing your list. There are about 10 blogs I'm not familiar with yet. - Mitchell Tsai
How did you compile this? Was there a tool you used? - Jesse Stay
Jesse, that's from the Trends link in Google Reader. Select Shared and display the top 40 from the last 30 days. Then, it's boring Excel for charts. - Louis Gray
Oh cool - I never noticed that! Heh - you're #5 on my list. It goes first, TechCurnch, second, Inside Facebook, Third, Mashable, Fourth, VentureBeat, and then you (last 30 days) - Jesse Stay via twhirl

Great idea! I'll definitely keep checking in. - Brandon Titus
thanks Louis, I'm putting together my top 40. I'm going to stay on top of this. It would be cool if I could extract this leaderboard with Yahoo pipes and display it on my blog. Here's my top 10 http://friendfeed.com/e/0cea5b... - Bwana

"if the current web page uses OpenSearch to point to a search engine, Firefox shows a blue circle next to the search box. You can add the search engine to your list using only two clicks." I tried this with FriendFeed and it worked like a charm; the UI is nearly impossible to tell that's wha the blue circle means though. - Benjamin Golub
The discontinuous text works with the FriendFeed bookmarklet too. Nice! - Vince DeGeorge
I just discovered the shortcut for selecting specific tabs. Cmd+1 Cmd+2 etc. I've used Cmd+~ to tab through but HUGE discovery for me. - Andrew Smith
Cmd+# is a cool feature, but not new in Firefox 3 :) - Michael C. Harris
i feel somewhat obligated to point out that IE7 has done this since launch... if the page your viewing supports opensearch, then the little arrow next to the search box turns orange, when you click it, the search provider is there starred, if you click the provider, it adds it to your list of providers. also, Ctr+e puts the cursor in the search box, and ctr+down pops open the list of providers. - Chris Hollander
Funny/sad that the browser I use most, WebKit (nightlies), doesn't support OpenSearch. - DeWitt Clinton
Cool features and shortcuts can be found at: http://i-stuff.blogspot.com/20... - Kevin
Firefox 2 changed the color of the search icon on OpenSearch enabled sites, too - Nick Lothian
When will us Mac users get a version of Firefox that doesn't feel like it was ported from Windows/X11? There still seem to be random mouse-cursor-handling bugs all over the place. Maybe I'm the only one who notices. - Jim Norris
I definitely am noticing some bugs in the way right-clicking is handled (or rather, not handled) on some links - Charlie via twhirl
