Joey talked of nothing but going to the workshop all week, and I expect him to continue to talk about this experience for the week to come as well. He was pretty darn excited! So was Mom!!! We had a great time and would do other museum workships in the future. We also hope to see more of Mr. Gerberich's work sometime again soon too. - Beck Tench

Here are pics from our visit to the Museum of Life & Sciences in Durham. Ashley unfortunately was feeling feverish and miserable most of the day - but she really enjoyed the butterfly house. I got some great shots of some of the butterflies - and I love the one with my mom & Kaitlyn and the butterfly flying right in front of them. - Beck Tench
Overall, the Museum of Life and Science kept two kids and one adult genuinely interested and entertained for four hours on a rainy Saturday. You can't beat that for a recommendation. Check it out if you're in the Triangle area. - Beck Tench

I got to ride on the NC Museum of Life and Science Santa Train. We "travelled" to the North Pole where I was greeted by Santa and Ms. Claus. It was a really cold night and I didn't really know what was happening at the time, but while leaving the museum grounds, Mommy could tell from my mumblings that I was contemplating that I had just met Santa Claus, one of the most magical of characters! - Beck Tench

Joey was so inspired that he came home and started drawing his own 'machines'. The exhibit runs through 1/5/09, so you still have time to go see it. We reupped our membership today, so here's to lots more memories and pictures at the museum in the upcoming year. - Beck Tench

We ate out at a few favorite places and even made a trip to the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science in North Durham. That museum is amazingly fun - for kiddos and grown ups alike! - Beck Tench
One of my favorite spots in the museum though was the globe area…..they were hanging from the ceiling, and on stands on the floor. I was pointing at them like a madman, but no one seemed to be as excited as me. They just don’t know what they’re missing. Globes are Awesome! - Beck Tench
If you’re a local, I cannot recommend it enough. It was awesome, and we couldn’t even begin to cover the whole thing in the three hours we were there. I think we’re going to have to get a membership, since I imagine it will only be more fun as Catie gets older. - Beck Tench

There were lighted reindeer and snowmen on the way to the train stop. We hurtled through the cold dark night to the North Pole, where Santa and a few elves were waiting to greet us and ask if we've been naughty or nice. Is there any way to answer that besides "Yes!" - Beck Tench

The Santa Train is decorated with lights, and the museum grounds are decorated, too. Once you board the train, it takes you to the "North Pole" where you get to meet Santa, and then right before you return to the station, you catch a glimpse of Rudolph flying through the sky! It is very cute. - Beck Tench
