Not too much Idea about it but interesting to see if someone get solution to it. - DCM
I have a friend who's into configuration and he was really into this post. He also explained it to me, it sounds interesting. - Keri Banks
very helpful!! - dolphin2406
"Decided to try varnish, the relatively new squid alternative out. Here’s what I have so far. I’m getting about 66% (very limited testing, YMMV) cache hits with this setup but am missing some things for caching Rails sessions and content. With appropriate tuning/configuration, I am sure the hit rate could be much higher. If you have any suggestions, let me know and I will update this." - aptjauder

"The Republic of Iceland (en-us-Iceland.ogg /ˈaɪslənd/ (help·info)) (Icelandic: Ísland or Lýðveldið Ísland (names of Iceland); IPA: [ˈislant]), is an island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean.[2] It has a population of about 320,000 and a total area of 103,000 km².[3] Its capital and largest city is Reykjavík. Located on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Iceland is volcanically and geologically active on a large scale; this defines the landscape. The interior mainly consists of a plateau characterised by sand fields, mountains and glaciers, while many big glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, Iceland has a temperate climate relative to its latitude and provides a habitable environment and nature." - jho from Bookmarklet

Jauder Ho / Explorations inside the Palm Pre.
Since the release, there has been an active community exploring the inside of the Pre. I'll be adding my notes here as well as pointers to some other useful resources. - jho from twhirl
First of all, some useful resources. http://predev.wikidot.com/ has a lot of useful information including how to get root on your Pre. - jho from twhirl
For IRC, join #webos-internals on freenode. - jho from twhirl
To get root, followthe instructions here. http://bit.ly/4PHVx - jho from twhirl
I used the instructions for a Mac. Pretty painless although having to reset the phone to enable dev mode was a little alarming. Getting in via USB and novaterm after the reset was a no brainer though. - jho from twhirl
Ideally, changes made will be seamless as it relates to updates but YMMV. - jho from twhirl
If you did everything right, you will be presented with a nice root@castle# prompt. - jho from twhirl
Let's take a look at the CPU. cat /proc/cpuinfo shows that it's an ARMv7 Processor rev 3 (v71) with 498.07 BogoMIPS. http://gist.github.com/131075 - jho from twhirl
L1 instruction cache is 16KB - jho from twhirl
L1 data cache is 16KB - jho from twhirl
L2 unified cache is 256KB - jho from twhirl
As an aside, I'm experimenting with updating this post using twhirl instead of the web interface. Properly done, FF could be an incredible liveblogging tool. - jho from twhirl
Hardware is a Sirloin OMAP3430 board Revision 34304332 - jho from twhirl

net.core.rmem_max = 262144 - jho from twhirl
TCP congestion control is set to cubic (should hybla or something else be used instead?). However, this is the default for recent versions of the Linux kernel. http://74.125.155.132/search... - jho
However, only cubic and reno are available by default on the Pre. net.ipv4.tcp_available_congestion_control = cubic reno - jho

df -ha output http://gist.github.com/133120 Looks like LVM is used for volume mgmt. - jho
netstat -ntp output http://gist.github.com/133122 Looks like there is a SSL connection to a server in North Carolina. There is also an XMPP connection to the same subnet block. - jho
/var/log/messages appears to log most if not all power events. This should be useful in tracking down apps that are misbehaving wrt power. - jho
Looks like the XMPP server connection is automatically maintained, not quite sure what is being transferred since I do not have messaging setup (other than SMS). - jho
If you have Flightview installed, it looks like it tries to launch itself every 15 minutes even if it is not an open card. See http://gist.github.com/133127 This obviously could lead to battery drain. - jho
I'm deleting Flightview until this is fixed or an option to disable is provided. - jho
Max observed charge is 1149.550049mAh which is pretty close to the stated max of 1150mAh. Can anyone with a Seidio battery report what they see? - jho
As reported, Google Calendar and Contacts sync in the background. This seems to happen every 15 minutes (after the 1.0.3 update). - jho
Prior to 1.0.3, the sync happened every 2 hours. Personally, I'm fine with the sync happening every 2 hours if it saves battery life. - jho
Suspend does not seem to work that well as IdleCheck often reports activity. But this could be because I am logged in via novaterm. Looking at older logs do indicate SLEEP periods. - jho
I think that I just figured out one of the reasons behind the loose slider. More when I get home. Updated with link. http://bit.ly/vrJc1 - jho
Shutdown messages http://gist.github.com/133453 - jho
Startup messages http://gist.github.com/133455 - jho
Looks like initial time is set to 1/1/2000. - jho
Looking at the number of messages logged as part of startup, it's no wonder the startup time is lengthy. - jho
The Pre uses the KXSD9 accelerometer http://bit.ly/P6zU8 - jho
Was going to look into hacking a character counter for the Messaging app but the code is pretty messy. This might be more work than I expected. - jho
It looks like the counter code is already there but for some reason Palm decided not show a visible counter. /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/app/utilities/CharacterCounter.js - jho
Tried to trick the Jawbone into playing music from Pandora using this method (http://bit.ly/VF48c) but it did not work. - jho
No dice with a mp3 on the Music player either. - jho
After more Googling, it looks like the Jawbone (orig) does not support A2DP. The previous link was about trying to use the headset profile to stream music. Too bad really, it would have been nice to be able to listen to music occasionally on the Jawbone (mono and all). - jho
Not currently syncing music with iTunes. I was able to create a music/ folder via USB and the music player found it automatically. - jho
Here is a list of default installed packages via ipkg as well as some annotations http://randomfoo.net/sandbox... - jho
LOL. Palm's program for flashing is called Trenchcoat. - jho
A surprising number of programs are installed out of the box. - jho
jemalloc is installed although I have not looked to see what uses it. - jho
The iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre have surprisingly similar specs. http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides... - jho
I wonder what upgrades/apps are going to be possible given the similarity. Video recording app for the Pre? - jho
Per Rapid Repair, the Pre uses an OMAP3430 - 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 + PowerVR SGX 530 GPU + 430MHz C64x+ DSP + ISP (Image Signal Processor) - jho
From the Wikipedia entry for OMAP3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... "The OMAP3 is broken into 3 distinct groups: the OMAP34x, the OMAP35x, and the OMAP36x. OMAP34x and OMAP36x are distributed directly to large handset (such as cell phone) manufacturers. OMAP35x is a variant of OMAP34x intended for catalog distribution channels. The OMAP36x is a 45nm version of... more... - jho
Interestingly, there are faster versions of the 34x up to 1GHz (3640 on 45nm process instead of 65nm). - jho
OMAP4 parts have been announced (from Wikipedia) that use the dual code ARM Cortex A9. - jho
Earlier versions of the PowerVR GPU was used in the Sega Dreamcast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - jho
The SGX530 is capable of 14 MPolys/s so it'll be interesting to see what games are produced for the Pre. The iPhone 3GS specs state that they use a PowerVR SGX too although the specific model is not clear. - jho
Here's a link to a tech demo of what is theoretically possible with the SGX. http://www.iphonealley.com/things-... - jho
mjg's notes on the Pre http://www.advogato.org/person... - jho
Added the ipkg feed via the predev wiki http://predev.wikidot.com/adding-... Enabled ssh by installing dropbear. Set ssh to be niced to 5 (ssh is not a priority process) - jho
Added .ssh/authorized_keys to Pre. It's better than using passwords... Will edit wiki to reflect this at some point. - jho
Leaving ssh only accessible via wifi. - jho
Turning off developer mode (recommended) since a) ssh is installed and b) developer mode leaves all ports open. - jho
After going through the process of adding the optware feed, /opt shows 8.2MB used. - jho
Next, enable the showing the call duration by following the instructions here http://predev.wikidot.com/hidden-... - jho
Turn on cpu scaling. WARNING: this may damage your Pre. YMMV. http://friendfeed.com/jauderh... - jho
Issuing the reboot command at the command line seems to work as expected. - jho
Make it easier to enable dev mode http://predev.wikidot.com/unhide-... - jho
Was just digging around inside the Pre and noticed that the naming convention for the Pandora app is off. It says com.palm.pandora which implies that it's a Palm developed app... - jho
I do not like the minuscule button in the top left. Someone has mentioned using a gesture to flip the card over to set preferences. That would be brilliant. - jho
Erk. It seems that turning on CPU scaling makes the Pre a lot more aggressive about powering down (makes sense). However, this includes powering down the wifi which means ssh sessions will just hang... YMMV. - jho
Was yours free? - Kevin J Hatton
Wow that's what i call geeking out! - Kevin J Hatton
No, my Pre was not free. I have a whole other thread here. http://bit.ly/iIWnP - jho
Alrighty, taking a closer look at Bluetooth now. - jho
There's BluetoothMonitor, PmBtStart, PmBtStack and PmBtEngine. It does not look like bluez is being used. - jho
straced PmBtStack while powering up a BT keyboard with no effect so it looks like a) the supported profiles are hardcoded in (or I have not been able to find where they are) and b) hacking additional profile support in may not be possible. - jho
There looks like there is a Bluetooth sniffer at /usr/bin/palmsniffer which turns out to be a shell script. - jho
Bluetooth output appears to be bound to a port which then you can telnet to. Port number seems to be hardcoded to 16888. - jho
telnet to port 16888 will start the log and telnet to port 16889 will stop the log. Ends up generating a binary file. Running strings on it does show my BT headset connecting... - jho
FWIW, also bought some usb cables and car charger from monoprice.com. Cheapest option that I could find. 2 cables and 1 charger for less than $10. - jho
Set the brightness to 0 instead of 10. It's not much but another way to save some battery life. http://predev.wikidot.com/brightn... - jho
Back to Bluetooth, running hexdump and strings on the output did not show anything too interesting. Unfortunately, I do not have the BT keyboard with me any longer. Maybe I should try the Wiimote. - jho
A list of Bluetooth profiles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - jho
Once again, current supported Bluetooth profiles by the Pre (as of 1.0.3): PAN, A2DP, HFP/HSP, PBAP, AVRCP. Let Palm know if you want different profiles such as HID, OPP and SPP. - jho
Crossing fingers and updating fairly heavily hacked system to 1.0.4. - jho
It is possible to use scp to copy files across wifi to the Pre. However, this drops the file by default into /var/home/<user> instead of the larger /media/internal partition. - jho
Out of curiosity, I tried playing the HaveFun.mp4 while watching top. It seems to consume about 12% CPU on average (cpu scaling turned on) so there's plenty of horsepower left. - jho
Open Card Information: Orange + Sym + i. You will see information about the open card, including how many images the app is using, how many DOM nodes, Render nodes, and Render layers it's calling. Potentially useful to web developers learning how to program for the webOS. (From precentral.net) - jho
Are tcpdump and hcidump available on the Pre, out of interest? - Tyson Key
From what I can see, tcpdump and bluez-hcidump are available from the Optware ipkg feed (i.e. not installed by default but available). Note that the BT stack does not appear to be Bluez. - jho
Hmm, has anyone ran NMAP against a Pre whilst it's associated with a Wi-Fi LAN? - Tyson Key
I'll be surprised if anyone manages to gets parts of the OpenMoko userland/UI layer working on it, just for the sake of it... - Tyson Key
From my other thread (http://bit.ly/iIWnP), nmap over wifi shows only port 113 closed. This is pre-rooting and hacking. I now have ssh open over wifi. - jho
I would not be surprised if parts of OpenMoko work at some point especially given people already getting NES and PSX up and running on the Pre already. It is not inconceivable that some enterprising chap with the right libs and wrappers could potentially get iPhone apps on the Pre given the similarity between the hardware of the phones. - jho

Jauder Ho / Palm Pre - First Impressions and Notes
Arrived at 7:15am, #34 in line. CSR said "A" stores only got 60 phones per store. "B" and "C" stores got less. - jho
All phones were spoken for by 8:10am or so. They are putting people on waitlists and will call as phones become available. - jho
Touchstones are in *very* short supply. The 5 in stock were snapped up right away. Other available accessories include a car charger and holster. - jho
Poll of the crowd seems to indicate mostly Sprint customers and not a lot of iPhone switchers. - jho
Registering the phone is taking quite a while as the systems are bogged down. The store is adequately staffed just not enough inventory or fast signup. Palm representative on hand to speak with customers. - jho
First impression of the phone is that it is much smaller than the 700p even though it is not that much shorter minus the antenna. Battery seems a lot more compact and not clear how it compares with older Treos. Will be getting an extended battery if it becomes available. Battery door is delicate but impressively moulded. Phone was 50% charged when unpacked but went to 100% in a short period after charging. - jho
Tip: Slide the phone out before trying to remove the door. There's a little bit more room to maneuver. The Micro USB door is not easy to get off and will probably end up being broken on many phones. - jho
The box itself has a new car-ish leather smell. Bundled accessories are charger and earphones. The phone itself fits very nicely in hand. - jho
Phone does not flex when in the open position. The indenting to open the phone one handed still needs work. The edges are quite sharp and probably should be buffed down to a duller edge. Dremel or sandpaper? - jho
Palm Profile is required. No opting out and hence you need to provide a valid email for the Pre to work. - jho
Initial signup and provision went smoothly. The introductory video tutorial will play with no way to skip. Next, some additional technical details. - jho
Running Steve Souder's UA Profiler returns a score of 6/11. User Agent string is "Mozilla/5.0 (webOS/1.0; U; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.27.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/1.0 Safari/525.27.1 Pre/1.0" which indicates building off of the Safari 3.x code base. So if Palm updates to use the Nitro engine, there could be a nice speed boost. - jho
Downloading is fairly fast. www.dslreports.com/mspeed 1MB test shows 462kbit/s and 0.308s latency. - jho
www.cloudfour.com/mobile test shows 1 connection but the browser does seem to support gzip compression. See detection code at http://www.cloudfour.com/mobile... - jho
There is Java 1.5 under the hood. Not sure why 1.6 is not used. - jho
Tip: Clean up your Google Contacts BEFORE adding to the Pre. Unfortunately, the Pre imports All Contacts instead of My Contacts from Google which results in a mess of contacts showing up in your addressbook such as temporary Craigslist addresses. There has been a bug report filed with Palm but this needs to be surfaced to them as a major bug. Contact cleanup also means less to download. OTOH, I am told that the iPhone suffers from this too. Can someone verify? - jho
By adding Gmail, the Pre will automatically download contacts from Google Contacts and meetings from Google Calendar. There does not seem to be a way to only import say just Gmail. - jho
Wi-fi works seamlessly. Was able to pair using WPA with zero issues. - jho
Device Info shows. Palm webOS 1.0.1 / Sprint 1.4. ##786 trick still works. PRL version is 60652. Some additional variables compared to 700p. - jho
Trying to nmap the device does not show anything right now but will retry later. - jho
Tip: Go to Screen & Lock and dial the brightness down to save battery as well as the dim interval (set to 30 seconds). - jho
Sound on videos still play when set to vibrate mode. - jho
webOS 1.0.2 is available at 67MB. Downloading over wifi now. No release notes available. Update estimated to take 10mins. - jho
Voicemail icon will show you how many voicemails you have but alas no visual voicemail. Hopefully, someone will develop a Google Voice app. - jho
While the update is installing, Sprint MiFi is available in stores although quantities are limited. If you buy a broadband card at the same time as your Pre, Sprint will take another $50 off. So for a MiFi which after rebates retails for $99 will sell for $49 + 2 year plan. Everything Plus + Broadband is $149/month. Just something to consider. Existing exotic pre-Pre unlimited plan for $90/mth did not port over to the Pre so now on the Everything plan. - jho
Update finished without issue. Did experience a web browser crash soon after. Reboot seems to take a while. Area of improvement for Palm. - jho
Phone does get visibly hotter under use. Particularly after playing videos or music. - jho
Not verified but the keyboard may not be backlit. If so, this is going to be a problem/pain in low light situations. - jho
Also, the App Catalog seems to have been hacked. It appears that the reviews section of an app allows arbitrary HTML. When trying to read an app review, a browser session was launched pointing at http://www.palmpre.org/importa... - jho
As a side note, the Google Contacts interface is hard to use when there are a couple of thousand entries. - jho
It appears that speed dial is missing from the phone app. Strange feature to have left out. Hopefully, this will come in an update soon. - jho
Hurray, the keyboard is backlit, albeit a little dim. - jho
Bluetooth works fine with Jawbone (first gen) and in car BT. No issues. - jho
Supported Bluetooth profiles: PAN, A2DP, HFP/HSP, PBAP, AVRCP. Mac addresses for wifi and Bluetooth show Palm as the vendor. - jho
nmap over wifi shows only port 113 closed. - jho
Developer SDK ROM is available to be installed over consumer ROM to provide debug support. Might be a way to get ssh access. Not trying for now. - jho
Tip: Google Contacts cleanup ahead of time really helps. Also, try to do the initial sync over wifi. Discovered an erroneous contact after first sync; corrected in Google Contacts and resynchronized to have it magically fixed on the Pre. So it looks like sync is doing "the right thing". Have not tested to see if contacts updated in Pre will update in the other direction. - jho
Someone brave has already taken the Pre apart. $170 worth, apparently. http://apt.jauderho.com/post... - jho
Email app does not allow for reply as recipient email. - jho
Tip: (thanks to @adora) For speed dial, go to Contacts > find person, Menu > Add to speed dial. Very unintuitive and should have been a hold down on the phone number for xx seconds and prompt or something like that. In some ways, the UX on the 700p was better. - jho
BUG: Rotating cards does not always work (needs hard twist) and sometimes renders with the wrong zoom level (easily corrected). - jho
BUG: Keypad based nav does not work on mobile sites. I.e typing 0 on m.twitter.com has no effect. - jho
Confirmed. Updating number on Pre does not update Google Contacts. Bug? - jho
BUG: Unable to remove AIM account after adding it to Messaging app. Also, a surprise to see AIM contacts added to Contacts. Correction: Unable to remove AIM while signed on. Not clear on the use case of what happens when you have AIM, FB imported with AIM contacts and then remove AIM. Do the FB contacts with AIM accounts get deleted too? - jho
Battery door is hard to take off. Was afraid I would break the tabs. See this vid (@1:15) on the way to take the door off. http://www.youtube.com/watch... - jho
Cut & paste is a little awkward IMO but happy to have that feature. - jho
Tip: (thanks to @adora) How to figure out your Pre's build date. http://bit.ly/15FkW2 - jho
Per @Marc_Wilson, Google Contacts sync with Pre is bidirectional. Can anyone else confirm? - jho
All this use completely drained the battery. While charging, it shows a big charging symbol which does not seem to go away. This should minimize or turn off to prevent screen burn in. - jho
Phone hung while charging. Needed to reset by pulling the battery. There does not seem to be a reset button. - jho
Some followup thoughts a week later... - jho
Battery life seems to have taken a huge dive midweek. It appears that the battery contacts are loose which was leading the phone to only charge sometimes. - jho
Dropping the phone accidentally seems to have fixed this. Obviously, this is not a recommended move. - jho
Current settings that seem to have resulted in okay battery life although I will probably be getting a Seidio extended battery at some point. - jho
Wifi: Off. - jho
Bluetooth: Off. - jho
GPS: On. Geotag: On. Auto Locate: On. Background Data Collection: Off. - jho
Mail: Set to pull once an hour. Not sure if IMAP IDLE is used in this config. - jho
Does anyone know how often Contacts sync? - jho
Tip: To screen capture on @palm #pre, try Orange + Shift + P - jho
Geotagged pictures show up correctly on Flickr. - jho
A Pre development wiki has been started. http://predev.wikidot.com/ - jho
As of now, the Pre has been rooted with some pretty interesting apps/hacks showing up over the weekend. - jho
NES Emulator now runs on the Pre. - jho
Doom now runs on the Pre. - jho
It appears that code to the core apps are available when on the system. This would be a good place to start learning how apps are built. - jho
Another useful resource is www.precentral.net with breaking news. - jho
Some hidden features including enabling call duration. http://predev.wikidot.com/hidden-... - jho
From @adora The list of linux apps you can install on a rooted #PalmPre: http://bit.ly/O7lEE - jho
How to add more Global Search buttons http://predev.wikidot.com/global-... - jho
Twitter Search only shows up in Global Search and not in inapp search for some reason. - jho
BTW if you are doing User-Agent sniffing (generally a bad idea IMO), you can just sniff for "webOS". This was successfully tested on a site yesterday. - jho
Engadget just reported that a tethering hack has been enabled. Not the neatest but apparently works. http://www.engadget.com/2009... - jho
Supposedly, there is an effort to port Android to the Pre. http://www.engadget.com/2009... - jho
Evernote just ported to Pre. A little barebones right now but hopefully will be updated soon. - jho
There is not an official Yelp app yet but there the Where app does feature a Yelp button as an interim workaround. - jho
Still using m.twitter.com for lack of a good Twitter client for now. - jho
Will probably start rooting around inside the Pre soon but that will be a separate thread. - jho
Back to battery life, with the setup above, battery life is decent although you probably want to have multiple chargers handy. The Touchstone is making a case for itself if it is to be charged frequently. - jho
The Precentral store (no affiliation) seems to have the Touchstone for sale for $20 less. No word on actual availability. http://store.precentral.net/palm-to... - jho
Note that the Touchstone does not come with a cable (???) so you will either need to buy an extra or reuse. - jho
Recommend buying the cable elsewhere as it's just a USB to micro-USB. - jho
Just the Touchstone for $39.95 http://store.precentral.net/palm-to... - jho
Here's the link to the extended battery. http://store.precentral.net/seidio-... - jho
Bluetooth occasionally resets the phone. YMMV. AFAIK, the handling of multiple BT devices is still not there, i.e. Pre, Jawbone and BT in car. - jho
Pictures taken with the camera are kept in the standard DCIM folder. Under that is a folder called 100PALM. Looks like the naming will allow for 9999 pictures before rolling over. - jho
You can add your own wallpaper by putting a 320x480 image in /wallpapers - jho
Pictures are named in the format CIMGxxxx.JPG - jho
BUG: Ugh, there's a bug in the naming sequence. If you delete some images, it looks like the Pre will reuse the sequence number instead of monotonically increasing the number. So keep that in mind so you will not have overlapping images or make sure to rename them. - jho
Examined the EXIF. Shutter speed is way off and the focal length is not set. - jho
It would be nice if the Pre could set IPTC information automatically leveraging geotagging. Imagine having the IPTC prefilled with City: San Francisco, State: US etc. - jho
exiftool shows "Bad IFD2 directory" warning. - jho
Exposure Mode is not set: Exposure Mode : Unknown (41987) - jho
While in USB mode, a drive image is shown with no way to turn it off. Kind of a bummer. - jho
OTOH, the giant always on charging symbol seems to have gone away (after a crash and reset) and now charges quietly with the screen blanked (Good!) - jho
Accidentally triggered the Airplane mode today while phone was in pocket. Something to watch out for. - jho
There does not seem to be a lot of holster options available right now but I've had good luck with the Seidio holster for the Treo. They are selling one for the Pre now. YMMV. http://store.precentral.net/seidio-... - jho
As a side note, the chaps over at Tesla were very interested in the Pre when there today. Maybe they will build something to interface with the Pre. - jho
Each of the wallpapers are about 128k in size. By substituting a replacement image or recompressing, you will save some space. - jho
Now on to Google Maps. Impressed at the speed where location is acquired and displayed. Tried this at the Apple store and the Pre seemed to be consistently faster at this than the iPhone. YMMV. - jho
Finally, figured out how to add Speed Dial. This is very unintuitive as currently implemented. To add, find the person you want to add and select. Then go to Contacts > Set Speed Dial. - jho
Just found out that Google Maps updates location in near realtime. Impressive! - jho
BUG: If you try to send an email when in airplane mode, the mail app seems to go into an infinite loop. - jho
Ugh, the slider is now noticeably looser after 2 weeks of use. Maybe time to go to the Sprint store to compare. - jho
First real use of the phone yesterday away from a charger. Light to moderate use resulted in a dead phone by 7pm. Getting an extended battery seems to be a requirement at this point - jho
Also, turned off GPS in an attempt to save battery. - jho
Supposedly, there is an update coming soon that addresses battery issues. - jho
Whoa, VNC is now running on the Pre. http://www.precentral.net/pre-hac... - jho
Battery life tips from Treonauts http://blog.treonauts.com/2009... - jho
Plugging the Pre into a XP machine seems to hang the keyboard. Removing the device and retrying seems to fix things. - jho
Very impressed that wifi seems to work better on the Pre than my laptop (trying to connect from 3rd to 1st floor). - jho
Tip: For fast contact find: Try typing first letter of first name then last name so for John Doe, type jdo ... - jho
Interestingly, it is possible to be in airplane mode with wifi on. Good feature to have... - jho
Scrolling the call log seems to be pretty choppy. There also does not seem to be a way to clear the call log. - jho
Similarly, there does not seem to be a way to clear the messaging log. Separate thread on exploring the inside of a Pre here. http://bit.ly/enFqB - jho
Music plays fine with aux input into the car as does Pandora. - jho
The browser renders UTF8 correctly! - jho
On a down note, the battery cover creaks alarmingly whenever I use the keyboard now. - jho
The focal length of the camera is approx. 36mm (35mm equiv) according to this Flickr user. http://www.flickr.com/photos... - jho
Very impressed that wifi seem to workbetter - Aravindkumar
Nice - Jay76
