"According to the study, 46 percent of women and 30 percent of men would opt to forgo sex for two weeks instead of giving up access to their precious Internet for the same period." - Mark Smithivas

It's not just about meta-aggregation. For example, this very comment. There is new added value being created entirely within FriendFeed. Also, you make the point about wanting more human interaction. The challenge is that as all the social networks increase in pace and noise, it becomes harder to focus on any one person's tweets/etc. so you can be a better friend in person. I see FF as a way to cut through a lot of the noise so that you CAN be a better friend in the long run. - Mark Smithivas
Thanks Mark! Maybe we can sit down some day and you show me how you use FF; how you have it set up, etc. Perhaps I just need more exposure to it. - Matt Thommes
I live in Cincy but love Chicago and visit often. Let me know in advance when I should plan a trip based on what real Chicagoans would recommend. Tx. TC - Tom Callinan
Agree w/Zulema: Hidden gems to check out! Events, Tweet ups & local business shout outs as well. - garcia
I really appreciate that you are keeping this room open to member contribution through posts. - Ryan Rasmussen
So here's a question: How would you see this being different from my Twitter feed, from a functional perspective? - Col. Tribune
When you ask a questions on Twitter, it isn't easy to track the responses from those we aren't already following [w/o use of Summize or other 3rd-part apps.] If you ask a question here (i.e. Anyone catching the pop-up circus on Michigan Ave right now?), the whole conversation is visible (i.e. with thumbnail photos from Flickr as responses.) - Ryan Rasmussen
Do you think there's an easy way to bridge that back to Twitter? Or do you think that conversation should take place here primarily? I'm not looking to completely flood the stream. - Col. Tribune
FriendFeed has eclipsed twitter for me in its power. You can integrate FF back to twitter. The ability to slice and dice people and topics into lists and rooms is what's missing in twitter. - Mark Smithivas
I believe when noone but you is a member of this room, you'll un-join it. Could be more clear, I agree. - Carlo Zottmann
That's a bit poo, most rooms are very low traffic probably. I would use them more if they came with more manager tools (like deleting the room). Future feature please? :-) - Kol Tregaskes
It looks like you cannot delete a room if there are other members subscribed? It seems like if I am an admin I should be able to override this. - Mark Smithivas
This is a great phone tree service with a terrific biz model. Local businesses can sponsor messages so parent and community groups can create phone tree groups for free. A number of local radio stations have already signed on as sponsors. A competitor would be Pinger, but this service seems well thought out and easy to use. - Mark Smithivas

Jesse - I haven't read your post yet but you're kidding, right? If if you are a republican, it's a stretch to think that Palin could be Tina Fey parodying Sarah Palin. ;) - Aaron Strout
nah, i'm way not a republican. ;) the idea is that at this point, palin doesn't have anywhere to go but up. she can't underperform expectations. there's a slim chance she can overperform. but i doubt very much that she will overperform enough to undo the damage. - Jesse Baer
that's fair - Biden definitely needs to walk a fine line. - Aaron Strout
we live in a world where "not implode" = "win" - Mark Smithivas
I guess instead of loading up the car and driving my family to an undisclosed bunker in the northwoods, I'll just go to the PTA meeting instead. - Mark Smithivas
