Because I've seen it posted here: Barack Obama is **NOT** the most liberal senator in Congress. The most liberal senator is Bernie Sanders from Vermont, and that's because he is a socialist. Thanks for playing "Your Talking Points Suck".
Seriously, this drives me nuts. Every few months, someone new (usually someone prominent in the news cycle) is the "most liberal Congressperson" ever. Find new talking points already, because we now have this wonderful new invention called the Internet, where we can check on your scurrilous claims.
- Steven Perez
Steven, what rank is Obama then? Is he the most liberal who is not a Socialist? Most liberal Democrat? Second most liberal? I agree the Internet is wonderful. But you are not helping your cause by saying Obama is less liberal than the only socialist in the Senate. Thanks for playing "You just shot yourself in the foot". ;)

When exactly did liberal become a dirty word? Look it up in the dictionary - trust me, you want a liberal raise. You want a liberal portion of pecan pie. End of the day, labels mean nothing and only serve to create friction and sell more detergent. Let's look at issues and ideas.
- AJ Kohn
AJ: Not a dirty word at all. It's a common descriptor that gives dimension outside of party affiliation. Conservative is the same kind of word. I'm all for issues and ideas. Just thought it was funny to use a socialist to prove this particular point.

It's hard to compare someone that has been in office for just during Bush's Administration and someone else who has been around through other admins--purely on how they have voted--of course he has voted liberal during this administration--so have A LOT of democrats-the admin has forced them too. It would be more accurate to just go back the time period Obama has been in office and then compare them--or actually look that their views and policy ideas.

Hmm, gee, an argument about talking points, so informative.
- Jason Wehmhoener
Jay: I submit that ranking who is or isn't "the most liberal Senator" is a false argument, put forth only to divide loyalties of the American voting populace. The real question is not who is the most "liberal" of senators; the real question is "What have you done with the people's trust with your time in the Senate?" Playing with labels is a fool's game.
- Steven Perez
We've seen what's happened to the country while it has been controlled by "conservatives." I say it's time for a "liberal.'
- iTad
Folks, seriously, this is all a lot of hot air. Instead of pissing each other off arguing about pointless banality, can we try to talk about some stuff that actually matters? I know, I'm tilting at windmills here.
- Jason Wehmhoener
Jason: thank you. That is entirely my point.
- Steven Perez
Steven: Like I said, I was just responding to your post. It was your point and your gripe. Look at the tone of your original post. You certainly have enough people who agree with you. I have been properly chastened, for not arguing the issues on a post that was not arguing the issues. I will now exit the echo chamber.
- Oldengrey (Jay)
My "tone"? I react to a gross distortion in a proportional manner, and the issue is my tone?!?
