"Oh, I wasn't trying to say that it was a TOTAL disappointment. Like I said, I really enjoyed the effects and the casting. I just felt like they could have used their two hours more wisely in order to stay closer to the plot outlined in the book, is all."

"Aw, thank you. :) Talking about it has actually helped me to work things through in my head and start to overcome some of the fear. It gets a little easier every day, although I do still have minor panic attacks when I'm out by myself. But I'm taking it a day at a time and working through it. I will say this, though: it would have been a LOT harder to go through had I not had the support of you and the rest of my interweb friends. Everyone's thoughts, prayers, and concerns meant a lot to me!"

"I had no idea that Food Additives listed non-vegan ingredients as well as chemicals and things. Thanks for the tip! I might have to check it out."

"Yeah, it's really contradictory, and what really frustrates me is that people DON'T SEE THE CONNECTION! It's spelled out pretty plainly, if you ask me. People just hate being made to feel that they're doing something wrong, I think."

"I agree, although I have to point out that being vegetarian is really not all that much better for the environment than being an omni, since you still have huge factory farms producing eggs and dairy products."

"I was pretty excited to find that there are so many good ones out there! There are definitely still a lot more that could be done, though. Enjoy!"

"Sorry for the delay in replying! What sort of meetings and events are you looking for? If you're wanting social media events, check out Social Media Club KC. The website is http://socialmediaclubkc.ning.com , and they keep things really up-to-date on the page. Thanks for the comment and for picking up my card!"

"Angora rabbits are routinely abused in the harvesting of their fur. Rabbits on large angora farms are strapped to boards while they are shorn, and the rabbits often kick violently against the restraints, which can cause broken backs and other injuries. Shearers rarely use caution when wielding their clippers, and the animals often end up covered in nicks, deep cuts, and large areas of razor burn. When they aren't being shorn, these rabbits spend all their time in wire cages, sometimes with multiple animals in a single cage, often with no bedding. The cages are also often left out in the open, giving the animals no shelter against wind, rain, snow, and extreme high or low temperatures. Male angoras are often slaughtered at birth because they yield up to 20% less wool than females. With so many alternative choices around today that look and feel great, like soft acrylics and faux fur, there is no reason to support an industry that causes so much pain and torment to innocent, sentient..."

"Um, that's totally NOT being nitpicky. That's being informed! Thanks for letting me know. I'll change the FAQ right away. I know the patties were vegan when they first came out, but it seems as though they've changed them and you're definitely right-- they're not vegan anymore. Boo, Burger King. Thanks again for pointing it out! I'm glad you like the site. Please keep reading and let me know if there's anything I can do to make it a better resource for you!"

"Just wanted to let you know Kate voluntarily left our organization and I agree with you that she was a gift to many families in the community. She has a great passion for what she does. Many organizations right here in Kansas City are starting programs just like ours, and we are SO excited for this momentum. Whether it’s two people, seventeen, or even fifty, there are so many animals out there that need our help. The more people we have out there working, the more animals will be helped. Unfortunately, Kate left before we had our blog site. This economy has been very tough on many groups, and all those in the animal welfare community deserve recognition, especially people like Kate. SNKC is committed this program and hope to have a very large volunteer/staff base to reach a larger population. We are working extremely hard on increasing donor support, as well as continually soliciting donations like dog houses, food, and other supplies to get out to needy families. Please help us by..."

"Thanks for the complements! I'm glad you're enjoying the blog. My boyfriend is originally from Fair Lawn NJ, so it's nice to see that people from his home state are doing some good for animals. You're free to use the dollar bill image, since it's one I created. I'd prefer that credit remain intact, obviously, but other than that, you're welcome to do whatever with it. You can also use any of the photos I've taken of my food or products. As for any of the other images on my site, they're all either stock images or ones I found online that are free to use through the Creative Commons license, so I don't own them. Thanks for reading, and keep fighting the good fight. :)"

"Hey, Michael. Thanks for the comment, and for clarifying FARM's position. Please don't think that I was trying to bash the event or your organization, because I definitely appreciate everything that FARM does for animals. I do think that Adam makes some great points in his article, but at the same time, I do know how hard it is to sell veganism to the meat-and-potatoes folk in the Midwest. Some people definitely require the Baby Steps approach to veganism. I know that FARM advocates the vegan diet, but I would love to see you all do campaigns to address other issues that affect farm animals which aren't related to food, like leather and wool. I think it's important that people realize that their dietary choices aren't the only decisions they make that negatively impact non-human animals. I do think you all do a great job, though, and I would love to partner with you all in the future to organize vegan events in Kansas City! Thanks again for your feedback, and you keep up the good..."

"It's a pretty big step, and it will certainly make it easier for more people to enjoy vegan food that's fairly inexpensive and easy to fix. I know a lot of vegan parents like having things like this around to fix for the kids, especially if you have kiddos who are involved in lots of activities like sports or clubs. It makes having a decently healthy dinner easier when you're a family on the go!"

"I've heard that about vitamin E. The only problem is, most capsules aren't vegan (the outer shell contains gelatin), and the ones that are vegan are pretty pricey- around $20 a bottle! I should see if I can find some kind of a vegan vitamin E serum to try. Surely someone sells just the oil? *runs off to Google it*"

"I can see what you're saying. I think this movie ended up a lot like the X-Files: I Want To Believe. In doing a homage to the characters, Carter and Spotnitz alienated a lot of the non-diehard fans and casual moviegoers, but if they'd done an action-packed blockbuster without the big shippery Mulder/Scully reunion, all us tried-and-true X-Philes would have gotten upset. It's a double-edged sword. I have to say, I didn't HATE Watchmen. But I didn't like it, either. I just felt very "meh" about it on the whole. It will be interesting to see how the next person interprets it, if it's ever given another shot at the box office. Thanks for commenting back. :)"

"You haven't heard of Jem? Are you serious?! I'll buy that you've never heard of the Wuzzles. It was kind of a one percenter, and like I said, it never really got popular here. I can't believe you've never heard of Jem, though! I guess it may have to do with you being a guy, but still. It came on right after Transformers, so I'd be willing to bet you at least saw an advertisement for it and you've just blocked it from your memory. :) I was never a GUTS fan, but I did love Rocko. Heffer was my favorite."

"I never watched She-Ra, but I remember the show. The Smurfs were a little before my time, but I've seen the reruns. It's funny how your views of cartoons change when you get older. For instance, now I know that Smurfette, as the only female, probably had to mate with all the other Smurfs in order to propagate their species, and I really, REALLY don't like that mental image."

"I'm sure I'll incur some sort of wrath from everyone else on here, but I really, REALLY don't like these boots. They look like they came straight off the Wicked Witch of the West. There, I said it. I'm going to go find a sturdy bunker to hide in now."

"I just saw that! Looks like they may have let their domain expire. FOR SHAME! Hopefully they'll be back up and running soon. Otherwise, I'll have to scour the internet for the recipe I used for the gingerbread, because it was sooooo tasty!"
