Ruqqa.com Blocked by Google??? My ruqqa sites been out of Googles index for a month (I was on 1st page). I was told all ruqqa sites are being blocked by Google. Seems to be true as I've done a "site:" search on other rugga domain sites and Google says there no matches. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks. This seems to be a major problem. Going back and forth with WPD. They keep claiming it's the number of keywords on my site, even though no ruqqa site is listed in Google's index. WPD needs to investigate. I'm on the brink of moving everything to Blogger.
- 22Hicks
Yup my ruqqa blog never got indexed either. I'm not currently using WPD for that reason.

I appreciate your post. I also wrote that SMS advertising provides a cost effective method of targeting promotions to specific customer profiles. You might want to remind customers of specific events or promotions, but for whatever reasons, SMS allows you to pass information directly to the right customer at very affordable prices and fast delivery. <a href="http://www.hearingaidindia.com/" >Hearing aid</a>

Can I import the contents and/or links of my current "free" WPD domain (that is banned like the other free domains) to the new domain site I just purchased through HostGator and will install on WPD? Any help is welcome, just keep in mind I'm a novice. Thanks.
I'd go to codex.wordpress.org . You can probably back up from the current site and restore on the new one . . . but it's something I haven't done, but plenty of other people have. Maybe search for "Moving blog" . . .
- LJF Wolffe
How can you be certain that the free domains are 'banned'? My free WPD blogs are still in Google.
- Paul Williams
Export your blog, then import to WP on your host. Check wordpress.org for help
- TrafficBug
Paul, all the ruqqa and topicster domains are banned. Just do a Google site search on any ruqqa/topicster domain and you'll get now matches. I've posted on this several times and WPD has admitted it's banned (although they won't send out a notice on the problem).
- 22Hicks
@22hicks they won't send notice to people who obviously use the service to be indexed in google? That is very, very lame.
- Peter Gibson
Also, will my old domain still be there and keep its backlinks if I export it and then import in the new domain?
- 22Hicks
Ed. Why has Google banned all the free WPD domains set up for the 30DC (ruqqa, topicster, etc)? All the 30DC free domains have been blocked for 2 months. WPD doesn't seem to be worried about this, in fact I had to tell them it was happening. I know I can hose elsewhere but that's not the issue.
Unfortunately Google does as it likes. Nothing will make them change their minds if they have made this decision. You are always better off hosting your own blog.
- Mark McGimpsey
Can anyone provide info on how to redirect the current url to the new url if I switch?
- 22Hicks
I quit the paid service offered by WPD because the auto posts were far too ambiguous compared to the content I wanted. But what of those paid up members? Surely if this is true about google, then it is not a resource worth paying for? That's not to mention the work people have put into their blogs in good faith...
- san
Plus, the 30DC team will need to update their videos (day 6 in particular) as it explains you can use the free hosting domains. Any new person will be screwed if they view this and opt for the free hosting option.
- 22Hicks
There are a few ways to redirect an existing site. If you can, use the cpanel redirect option to send traffic to the new site. If that's not available you can use this code: <html> <head> <title>Moved</title> </head> <body> <h1>Moved</h1> <p>This page has moved to <a href="http://www.example.org/">http://www.example.org/</a>.</p> </body> </html>
- Kimbah
How do I access cpanel? Just in case you haven't noticed I'm a novice. Thanks.
- 22Hicks
This is more than a slight goof. I have seen people complain that they worked hard and still were not indexed. If this is true then Ed should certainly amend his 30DC recommendations for using this service as it can really hinder someone's progress. I stopped trying to index mine, bought and hosted a domain, because I was always paranoid about it. Don't get me wrong, the services WPD offer save time and it's a good concept, but if their free hosted sites are getting slapped then "free" is of no use.
- Peter Gibson
Hi, thanks for this post/comment/discussion. I've jz started the 30dc and am now on "Day 9 - how to create more backlinks". Knowing what i know now, I will definitely be finding a new solution. I already hv a bluehost acct so i might consider buying a domain name. Any other free suggestions?
- rachellim
The free domans are banned by Google, this is a fact. Just run a search on Yahoo for ruqqa/topicster and then take any site found and run a Google search. None of the sites are indexed in Google. Again, WPD doesn't seem to believe this is a priority. Might help if someone from the 30DC team pushed them on this.
- 22Hicks
@rachellim free alternatives are the old standbys, blogger, wordpress, e.t.c... You can google "SEO for Blogspot" and see what it comes up with (to enhance your on site SEO".) @22Hicks I have pushed WPD on this issue, more than once. In fact I just left a message on the forum yesterday. No response as of yet. :(
- Peter Gibson
Ok - a few things here - Im checking the deindexing of the free sites. If that's true we will sure have to amend things. here is the thing - if you go back to the challenge you will here me say time and again the free services was a very genourous and very TEMPORARY option for people with no resources. Hosting your own sites is the way to go, always was, always will. Does this mean I would not recommend WPD - no way!!!!!! - We use WPD all the time and it works brilliantly. Now about auto-posting...
- Ed Dale
How many times do I need to say - dont use this feature in the context of the 30DC (or use it as a collator and then use your editorial judgement to select content.) In the context of the 30DC you should be putting up your own content.
- Ed Dale
Mine are still ranking with Google - I used brighterplanet not ruqqer or topicster
- Kim Baillie
Why go free anyway? Hostgator have been brill for me and the price is negligible. See the 30dc training day 6 - Setup hosting. It's a no-brainer.
- Isha (Marysia)
Hmm i have heard some good things abt VodaHost today
- TrafficBug
I bought into the hostgator deal and use WPD works fine.
- Claudia
Blogger works fine for building a respectable presence in the blogosphere and has none of the restrictions of WP.com. WPD got blocked for creating too many splogs, methinks. People too lazy to create content, sad :)
- Rahsheen the Dream
Downside of blogger though is that it doesn't rank well and quickly so not good for quick market research tactics of 30DC
- Lisa
Probably would rank faster if it was being pumped through the newer social media sites like FriendFeed. Twitter could help as well if you have a decent following.
- Rahsheen the Dream
Actually, simply purchasing just a domain for your blogger blog would accelerate ranking because it would appear New to Google
- Rahsheen the Dream
“Taking the advice and moving to hostgator, from WPD free site. How do I redirect the old .ruqqa page to my new site? Will I lose all the many links I've built? And, if my keyword is tree stump removal is buying removaltreestump better than mytreestumpremoval as a URL? Keyword url is taken. Thx!
I'd buy the domain name that Market Samurai says is the best keyword. The order of the words is important. I don't know about the other questions - hope someone can help you out.
- Isha (Marysia)
Thanks. Already have my keyword, in this case tree stump removal which is not available. Question on the URL is if its better to use removaltreestumps.com or something like mytreestumpremovals.com. Also need help on the redirect. Thanks!
- 22Hicks
Try thinking about derivatives of words as well, Like remove tree stumps ..... remove and removal might be looked at as the same in googles eyes?
- Mark South
My site has been banned by Google. My guess is the ban was due to duplicate copy (have a 2nd site with same content). Only other guess is my posts on the article sites are considered duplicate copy. I know I have to submit a reconsideration request, but was hoping for some expert advice. Thanks!
Sounds like you know what to do already... change the content on one site or another. It really doesnt take long to rewrite an article to make more original content. Thats what I do, I haven't been banned.
- san
Hit it on the head - all though it's probably not baned!!!
- Ed Dale
I am interested in knowing why you would create two sites with the same information. I have heard of this before but never quite understood the motivation. Thanks
- Frank Dobner
Thought it would add to the number of listings. It's a blogger site and initially it did work. Unfortunately Ed I'm pretty sure it's banned. It's been off of Google's index for a week. You'd know better than I, but that appears to be a very bad thing.
- 22Hicks
Could you try a complimentary blog instead,to point to your main site, using one of your other strong keyword phrases?
- Inspired Writing Research
Anyone Else Having Problems With WordPress? My site hasn't been accessible for the last 18 hours. This is the message I get Bandwidth Limit Exceeded The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later. Apache/2.0.63
I think that's your answer then. WPD has been overwhelmed by the 30DC users and their servers can't cope.Using the WPD hosting is definitely a false economy much better to buy your own and use Hostgator or similar. In the meantime do raise a support ticket with WPD.
- Linda
I use Dreamhost, which offers awesome bandwidth/storage and unlimited domains (first domain registration is free too)... check out http://bit.ly/30dc (affiliate link). Use promo code 'cabernet' to save $10
- Chris Abernethy
from twhirl
Tip: Use Google to locate coupons... $50 dreamhost coupon or more is available.. I used one that saved me $97 but that's more than a year ago..
- Hendry Lee
from twhirl
Good point Hendry! I just checked and Dreamhost changed the max discount to $50... use promo code '30DC' to get it.
- Chris Abernethy
from twhirl
Thought this might come in handy for anyone who decides to try out Adwords. This way you get $50 of test money. Good Luck!
- Wayne Johnson
from Bookmarklet
there is no promo code. just click on the link and it should have the details in the upper left corner. If you can't get it to work go here and just click on the google button http://www.gadgettrail.com/2006...
- Wayne Johnson
I like this, got my free £££ for the following PPC 30Dc stuff - thanks dood !!
- Mark Gray
I agree, there's lots of posts on the forums talking about how this is normal and why
- Dominic Goucher
Gotcha, but should the site still be indexed in Google? Because it's not. Thanks.
- 22Hicks
Google is just trying to figure out where to put you. It is normal at this early stage to "lose" your indexing but you will return shortly.
- Peter Horsman
from twhirl
Thanks to all for explaining this before I jumped out the window.
- 22Hicks
Also you could be seeing a Different Data Center. But new stuff shows quickly then goes bye bye to it's current ranking position and as you build links you will see it return. Could take over 30 Days however to see it come back.
- Eric Gehler
Same thing happened here. Even though I knew it would probably happen, it's still a bit upsetting, somehow... Well, it's my baby :~(
- Frann Leach
Thats why i sent out that email - it will happen every time - it's normal - and it's guarenteed to freak people out the first time it happens!!
- Ed Dale
Many Lensmasters don't like comments that contain links, and some set their guest books to automatically strip out any HTML.
- thefluffanutta
I'm not finding any with a place to leave a comment. Some have guestbooks with entries, but I can't find a place to leave my own comment. Very frustrating.
- 22Hicks
if there's a guestbook but you don't see how to add a comment to it, check that you're logged in to Squidoo
- Kevin Wilson
Right. One of the other options in the guestbook is to only allow logged in members to comment. So if you see there are comments, but there's no place for you to put a comment, that might be the issue.
- SusanVillasLewis
You won't die, but it won't taste very good. I worked at Coca-Cola for 12 years. Plus a fresh Crystal Pepsi tasted like furniture polish. I won't discuss Tab Clear.
- 22Hicks
I have no idea about the Crystal Pepsi -- but MAN, do I want to lift their theme! Checked out the link at the bottom -- professionals, no dice -- but I've been looking for that "parchment/old newspaper" thing for AGES. I'm drooling now . . .
