For fans of the show "24". Please no future spoilers in main posts (in comments are okay). Other than that, please feel free to discuss anything! West Coasters or other time-shifters, you might want to stay away from the room for the couple of hours before the show starts.
"Unless he's cooling his heels in jail again, actor Kiefer Sutherland is promising that "24" will actually bear a semblence of reality when the eighth season of the real-time thriller starts shooting this month."

Well, #24 is coming down to the wire. They may be taking it a bit too far with the whole daughter element, but because I love the show I will give them a pass. 2 hour finale looks to be action packed. I like.
"Finally, Jack meets Jonas. Monday's 24 showdown between hero Jack Bauer and one of the show's more memorable villains, Jonas Hodges, gives star Kiefer Sutherland face time with Jon Voight. Hodges heads Starkwood, a shadowy military contractor gone rogue with bioweapons.""
- Amani
"In his first American TV gig, "Slumdog Millionaire" co-star Anil Kapoor has joined Fox's drama "24" as a regular on the show's upcoming eighth season. He will play a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. A Bollywood icon who has appeared in more than 100 films in his native India, Kapoor received a worldwide recognition for playing game show host Prem Kumar in the Oscar-winning "Slumdog Millionaire."""

Slower episode of '24' this week, but it still rolls on. Jack has more lives than a set of cats. Get Renee Warren out of holding and let's see more Jon Voight.
Dear 24: I love you. And I even love 2 hour versions of you. But when your 2-hour version intrudes into the 8pm timeslot which is already TOO FULL, it's uncool.
Does that mean I lose House so 24 can launch the "second crises" of this season? Dammit. I always hate the second crises and end up quitting the show shortly after it begins. I wish the first crises could last the whole the day.
- Matthew DeVries
This second crisis looks very daring though. I need to double check my Tivo actually. And Jandy, Fox only has 2 hours of TV at night. LOL. they have no choice.
- Amani
Really? They don't have three like everyone else? Now that I think about it...huh. And Matthew, yep. I already lost House because I won't give up How I Met Your Mother and I can't watch it on hulu. I guess Chuck is on hulu this week for me.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Fox stations, for reasons known only to them, put local news on for a solid hour every night in most markets, and start it at 10pm Eastern. And the Fox News team in 100% of markets is always the junior varsity team, so you get a solid hour of crap.
- Matthew DeVries
You know, if they'd cut down that news or make it later, they could free up another timeslot and maybe not have to cancel most of my favorite shows to make room for newer shows...for them to cancel...
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Matthew - I agree. I'd rather they work the single crisis for the season. Tonight is a two-hour episode?
- Hutch Carpenter
Hutch - yes, two hours. I believe this second crisis is just really an extension of the first. They push the boundaries a lot so I will give them some rope with this one. Plus this season has been spectacular so far. Jandy - If I set up a meeting with FOX, will you pitch your plan??
- Amani
Sure. :) But it will probably devolve into a "FireflyArrestedDevelopmentWonderfallsTheInsideWHY?!" wail of crushed dreams.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
With an extra hour, they could make room for shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonder Falls, Fast Lane, Andy Richter Controls The Universe, Skin, Girl's Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky Links, Wanda At Large, Costello, The Lone Gunman, A Minute with Stan Hooper, Normal Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddy, The Street, American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Louie, And Greg The Bunny.
- Matthew DeVries
Ooh, forgot Harsh Realm and The Lone Gunmen. Did they also have Millennium? And I would've watched Dark Angel for longer, too. Most of those I don't remember, though. I'm really bummed right now thinking that Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse are unlikely to make it past this year, and with BSG ending, where's my sci-fi?
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Action Fiction is going strong with Burn Notice and Leverage
- Matthew DeVries
Despite all this, we will be watching very soon (15 mins for some and 3 hrs and 15 mins for others!!)
- Amani
Matthew, yeah, I'm gonna have to start watching more cable shows. If I can only learn to find out about them before they're two seasons in...
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Monday nights for me are crazy. I try to follow Gossip Girl (which isn't on till 3/16, so that's good), Heroes, 24, and House. Kind of hard since they're all on at 8 and 9pm.
- Tamar Weinberg
We do realize that they totally messed up this underwater white house thing. There is no water remotely near the White House so that part of their story isn't plausible. I wonder why they did that. I would love to hear an answer on that. Because I am loyal, I will gladly overlook this slip up.
- Amani
It wasn't water into the White House, it was water into the drainage systems, then upstream into the sewers
- Matthew DeVries
OK Matthew. I could buy that. They should definitely make that clearer in the future because I am like, how did they get there???
- Amani
Heh, Amani, my mind just went right over that. I was like, water, whut? Oh, White House. Okay. Whatever.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
OK, so what did we think of last night? For sure they didn't kill Warren and she was blinking while they buried her. How creepy? And then Tonly Almeda saw her blinking (and she saw it too) so she must know now that Tony is on the good side. Jack did a good job "pretending" to kill her. Let's see how long until she comes back. And the whole thing with the President's husband is pretty creepy. At least we know that it isn't a minor plot turn for sure.
- Amani
They're probably going to fill her in eventually.
- Tamar Weinberg
So what do we think about this week? They certainly aren't wasting any time with any disasters. What a crash!!! And there is new life for the President's husband. That little potion wore off quickly. How will he get himself out of this prickly situation. Interesting to see the next steps with Mutubu (sp?). I like the pace of this years show. Keep it moving!!
- Amani
I think I want to see next week. And as an aside, House next week also looks like it will be AWESOME.
- Tamar Weinberg
I want to see every week. LOL. But next week looks like it has great action!! And as far as House, I am a fan of Olivia Wilde and Omar Epps although their relationship is a bit strange now. I am confused by the placebo revealment. What did that mean exactly?
- Amani
Amani, Olivia/13/Remy is under the impression that she's being treated in those medical trials and that she's actually being given the real medication. But Omar/Foreman discovered quite accidentally that she was on the placebo, so he knows when she says "I'm feeling better" that it's the placebo effect.
- Tamar Weinberg
so that really means she isn't getting better. As we see in the next epsiode, right?
- Amani
Well, I can't figure out what the heck the next episode is related to. Perhaps she has some crazy reaction to the real drug when Foreman did the swap. That's really why I want to see this - looks very intriguing!
- Tamar Weinberg
True. I'll be waiting. House is on it's 100th episode. Well done.
- Amani
24 will be on soon ... Can't wait ... the ONLY good thing about Mondays = 24.
- Amani
So how do we feel now?? Progressing quickly and very well IMO. I have a bad feeling about the President's husband. With so many thing revealed, I wonder how deep the conspiracy is. Seems like there is a bigger person controlling this whole thing than just the main villan (I forget his name). Poor Renee Warren couldn't handle what Jack was telling her to do. Great scene at the house with the baby. Great scene ... Thoughts?? Anyone??
- Amani
Tamar - A woman of so few words. LOL. Any other thoughts to what is going on so far?
- Amani
haha, I have not much to say. I'm just riding the wave like you!
- Tamar Weinberg
Well ... this week was pretty slow, but some stuff was revealed. Next week looks juicy too. A nice little confrontation between Jack and Renee ... some passion there!!! Obviously this breach is bigger than we know right now. Glad to see Aaron Pierce back !!
- Amani
So this week the pace was so fast and intense. Wow! That car chase scene was on of the better ones. And when Renee confronted Jack with her "pain" meltdown ... that was good acting IMO. She is a pleasant surprise. Just so much happened this week and next week looks to continue the fast pace. My goodness. I have a feeling the "chief villian" will be shocking.
- Amani
Is it just me or is the First Gentleman having about the worst few hours of his life?! Drugged, fell from balcony, kidnapped, finger cut off and now shot???
FOXNews.com - Secret Service Agent Returns to Fox's "24" - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment - http://www.foxnews.com/wires...
In the world of Fox's hit series "24," there aren't many people you can really trust, other than Jack Bauer, of course _ and Secret Service Agent Aaron Pierce. Pierce also happens to be the only other character besides Bauer to have appeared in all seven seasons of the show. Played by veteran character actor Glenn Morshower, Pierce makes his return in Monday's episode on Fox (9 p.m. EST).
- Amani
I like him. Glad he is back. The plot thickens!!!
- Amani
Nice! Good to see some old faces. Well, we've already got Tony, I guess. But I'm still working out how I feel about the writers bringing Tony back.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
I am curious if somehow they bring back Jean Smart at some point. I always liked the character of Aaron and his loyalty to Jack. I am not really liking Tony this season but he really wasn't a fav of mine in the past. Too much whine.
- Janet
Yes, that would be great. Jean Smart should have won a Golden Globe for her role that season. She was phenomenal. I am also trying to figure out how they bring Jack's daughter back into the story.
- Amani
I wonder if his role will be big this season. It definitely was big in S5 but I don't really recall much of him last season.
- Tamar Weinberg
As for Jean Smart, I don't think so - I think she's perpetually institutionalized since she's insane. I also don't see how past presidential conspiracies (like in previous seasons) are related to this Sangala infiltration.

24 star Kiefer Sutherland talks to Decca Aitkenhead about Jack Bauer and Guantánamo Bay | Life and style | The Guardian - http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeand...
Please don't post future spoilers in main posts; some of us don't want to know what's going to happen in upcoming episodes. But beyond that, have at it. Us West Coasters and time-shifters will deal. :)
Okay, now that there's a place for it... OMG, Tony's alive?! I ALMOST stopped watching 24 when he died. Or, didn't die. You know what I mean. But now I'm not sure if him being not dead is cool or Alias-style jump the shark.
Now all we need is Audrey to come back. They DID say Jack's daughter comes back in this season. They still have a lot of unfinished things to say. I do remember one scene in like season 3 or 4 when Jack was supposedly going to fly the helicopter with a dirty bomb in it and his daughter thought she was going to die. That was a very , very touching scene. Anyone remember it?
