Slightly too bright for me, but they're beautiful. Any dark background? Deep dark blue is my favorite (see my friendfeed page for a hint ;) )

We are made to believe to perceive cover girls as enviously perfect, on one hand we are easily deceived by the uglier facade showed in the "before Photoshop". The lesson here is: Print aesthetics is incomparable with the imperfect real world, real bodies and real faces we have. Photograph technology has a lot to offer, in presenting an ideal figure for us to admire or envy. Now a simple...

Had to feed all those reporters, cops, sherriff's etc...

Ha! I remember on the news last night seeing Falcon nomming on a slice of pizza when he was talking to a reporter in the driveway after they "found" him, too.

I don't normally dig "lit shots" as I'm a natural light freak, but I really like these photos here with the completely black background and just the key spotlight. Wondering how they are accomplished and if it's as easy as it would seem.
- Adrian
i think for Jazz especially, it works...think dark club...spotlight on the artist...perfect! seems easy enough...pitch black room and spotlight or single light source, no?

Meğersem 4 Ekim Dünya Hayvanlar Günü imiş. Evet, bilmiyordum, utanç içerisindeyim . Neyse ki Big Picture sayesinde öğrendim, seneye etrafımdaki bütün hayvanlara ekstra ehemmiyet göstereceğim: http://www.boston.com/bigpict... (fotoğraf Reuters'tan Daniel Zupanc'a ait).

ah evet Arpat hatırlıyorum onu :(((((((( o fotoğraf insanı her şeyi bırakıp o adam olma yoluna sokar.

one way to read the alerts in friendfeed is by using a group with a secret email address added
- Mike Chelen
Am I actually supposed to care if people unsubscribe? Apparently I'm too self absorbed. Never occurred to me to try and find out.
- Eoghann Irving
@Franz, there is a bug and I'm trying to solve it. Could you check that ffspy is listed here: http://friendfeed.com/setting... and inform me after that, please?
- Alp
@Franz, thanks for your help, I'm still investigating on the issue, this is a very rare situation but happened on a few users among hundreds. Such an interesting bug. I'll inform you when I figure out.
- Alp
Next, you need to develop an app that lets you unfollow someone *without* setting off an FFSpy alert. (More seriously: I *like* the fact that FF doesn't notify someone if I unfollow them.)
- Kevin Shaum
Kevin, maybe we follow some people for trends, news and good stuff. Sometimes it does not matter whether they do follow us, or they don't.
- Alp
all this time you are working on a new app?
- testbeta
it only matters to ppl with a trophy mentality. vindictive ppl, at that. very MySpace. :P
- The Silence
why does it have to be vindictive? maybe the point is to notice if you make mistakes or do something that upsets people without realizing =D
- Mike Chelen
I don't get it. Why would anybody care who is following them?
- Otto
@Fossil @Otto, nevermind, someone cares, so more than 800 people using it.
- Ahmet Alp
@Ahmet: Thank you for not answering my question... I was asking, why would people care, not how many people use the service...
- Otto
Otto, you know some people have obsessions. They really care about who follows them. That's just obvious for some nations, they do care this trivial thing.
- Ahmet Alp
application is good thats all that matters and alp has been working on a great lot of apps for friendfeed, i am looking forward to some great unique service of its own from him, i don't care who follows me but @otto it does give some happy moments when you are followed by someone of high integrity and expertise, helps one have a smile on one's face :) thanks for the app though, i too tried it but i don't really care if someone leaves ;)
- testbeta
is that a ... good picture for software? ? ... just saying ... don't get me wronk /

(32 photos) They have been with us a month now, and have grown up so much and we just can't help but love them!!! There are little meet the kitten descriptions on the page too! and more photos will follow very soon!
- Rachel Lea Fox
So cute! I'm headed out of town, but hopefully I'll get a chance to visit this batch before they move on to new homes.
- Paul Wilcox
Paul, they will be here another week still.
- Rachel Lea Fox
That's a great thing about fostering. Some people wish their pets were always this young & cute. You always get the kittens! (Although, I guess, it means having to have a lot more energy for them.)
- Spidra Webster
Spidra, they are a lot of work, but so so worth it. There is lots of poo cleaning, and feedings can be chaotic, and did I mention lots of poo! but seriously they really are awesome to have. They are the best stress relief ever too.
- Rachel Lea Fox
How long are you going to keep them? We'd like to see them again after we get back! (we're coming back tomorrow, Friday 9/4)
- Tudor Bosman
Tudor, we will have them at least until 9/11!
- Rachel Lea Fox
That was my understanding, but I've never seen one done. Are you going to live-blog it in its entirety?
- Victor Ganata
Ok, all done. Yes I was awake for the procedure. Only took about 20 minutes. Wasn't painful at all. Just a little pinch from the initial anasthesia injection.
- Mark Krynsky

so I guess us having kids together is out of the picture then?

Well according to my Dr. I have about 15 bullets left in my gun.

I think I'll have a ceremony to burn my remaining Jimmy Hats...or perhaps I can donate them to one of you?

My friend's vasectomy doctor was named Dr. Dick Chop. I kid you not.

Like a newspaper weather report. With icons. "The temperature 'round my crotch is now 30 degrees F"
- Spidra Webster
Pictures or it didn't.... uh, never mind.
- Morton Fox
Ok, anesthesia is wearing off. I'm feeling some mild pain but nothing drastic. Spidra...I'm guessing crotch temperature is brisk in the mid 40s since I'm currently icing the little fellas. 20 minutes on 20 minutes off is what they suggested for the first day.
- Mark Krynsky
Just pee'd for the first time without complications. That's a good start.
- Mark Krynsky
That 1st pee after surgery is good otherwise they go looking for it :(
- WarLord
I cringe each time I see this in my stream, yet I want to learn more
- Jesse Stay
My Doctor tried to ease the tension by telling jokes during the procedure but they weren't funny. I laughed anyways to encourage him to do a good job...because after all...my balls were in his hands.
- Mark Krynsky
Funny, Mark, and totaly unrelated to your v-temy, but since your character in my Sims world ran off with one of my favorite sim-daughters I've had this irrational antipathy to you. Sorry. I guess I should play another game to erase this weird virtual drama.
- anna sauce
Haha Anna...I totally forgot about the FF Sims. I just couldn't get into it but it's good to know my likeness is still alive and well in other folks worlds. Hopefully the virtual me will show the kindness of the real me and return your sims daughter soon.
- Mark Krynsky
Spidra, it would almost be worth traveling to your side of the US just so Dave could have his vasectomy done by Dr. Dick Chop. He would LOVE to be able to tell that story!!! And Mark, and hope you and your meat and veg are resting comfortably =D
- FFing Enigma
Actually, the friend in question lives in Austin, TX area.
- Spidra Webster
Mark- Yeah this was way back. Idropped off after realizing my life/work/relatinoships were deteriorating due to OCD game play. Anyways, at the time you said that it was very unrelated to your real personality (this behavior of your virtual self) so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt :)
- anna sauce
Oops. Looks like that's Chopp with two Ps: http://www.urologyteam.com/... EDIT: that urology clinic also has a Dr. Wang. All they need now is to recruit Dr. Dong, Dr. Johnson & Dr. Schwanz.
- Spidra Webster
What do you mean about Ustream John? You want to do a Q&A?
- Mark Krynsky
Jesse, when I first read your post with the word "stream"...... Haha. You mean ff stream ;-)

I forgot to mention there were 2 women in the room along with my male doctor. One was his assistant, the other appeared to be in training. He called her over to show her something and said something to the effect "a little different than what they showed you in school" or something to that effect. I don't recall exactly.
- Mark Krynsky
Thanks Andy but I don't believe he was referring to my unit, but the vas deferens which he had extracted to show her.
- Mark Krynsky
I'm having an IM convo with a friend who already had the procedure done a few years ago. This is a quote from the transcript. "Anyhow, you told your wife that for best results it needs to be followed up with lots and lots of sex, right? And that there's residual pain that only a BJ can fix, right? And she's got to do all the work? Of course, if she doesn't go for that, tell her you can always outsource the job...or better yet - crowdsource it!"
- Mark Krynsky
As long as you don't live or life stream it, I think I'm ok LOL
- Mona Nomura
I'm intrigued to find out how one crowdsources a BJ, exactly.
- SOMEBODY!
Mona, I really thought it would have been interesting to be the first person to ever do it. I could have easily used Qik to stream it although I'm not sure if the doctor would have been cool with that.
- Mark Krynsky
Hahahahhahha Mark, you're AWESOME. Talk to you 2m at 12pst? ;)
- Mona Nomura
OMG, I write very thorough posts covering the Lifestreaming concept for over 2 years and _this_ is the FF post that gets a like from Leo Laporte? *facepalm*
- Mark Krynsky
Deep down inside, Mark, we're all crotch watchers :P
- Johnny
Hey Johnny...gotta say...I've spent quite the day focusing on things down under *rimshot*
- Mark Krynsky
I'm sad to learn that a friend from the Philippines (Filipino-Canadian Film critic Alexis Tioseco) was murdered 2 days ago. :'( My condolences. May your soul rest in peace.
Rochelle, maybe the next thing we make...Zoe was indisposed and this poor minifig has passed on. In fact, CSI is investigating right now. Pics to follow.
- Josh Haley
Trish is mailing your box as we speak, Johnny. :)

Josh, you _have_ to get this book for Zoe: "Sadie and the Snowman" - one of my favourites we've read to our kids - http://www.amazon.com/Sadie-S... (check your local lending library first :)

Ok... I loved the idea of dual-booting WinMo on an iPhone. I've played with a hackintosh. I ran DOS emulation on my Pocket PC, eagerly read up on efforts to put Linux on Pocket PCs and toyed with the idea of putting Linux on a Linksys router. However, even I have to wonder ...WHY?
- a runcible MiniMage
Cause this is the geek equivalent to scoring with a cheerleader?
- Johnny
So if a geek scores with a cheerleader, what is the !geek-life equivalent? Don't say it can't happen. It could... couldn't it?

I don't understand people who want to insert their Ubuntu into anything they can. It's a disease, I tell you.

I just visited 'het Rembrandthuis' (Dutch) 2 weeks ago for the exposition on Jan Lievens. I didn't look at the things Karin Wells is showing (been there, seen it already, not anything special anymore ;-)), but it's funny to see foreign people looking at it in this way. It makes me look at it from another perspective.
