Tried to claim my $250 but it seems you need a coupon code. I read in a forum that your should have received this by snail mail first to claim the offer. Is that right? Anyone got this to work?
- Tim Brennan
It clearly says you should already have the snail mailed coupon code
- TrafficBug
Yep, that sounds right. I had to do the same...and I live in South Africa... It works.
- Lorenzo Rheinicke
How do I get a coupon code sent to me?
- Tim Brennan
Google Adsense? Privacy Policy? Do you have one?...Just a quick note. If you are using Google adsense on your site(s), Google adsense terms require a privacy policy. - https://www.google.com/adsense...
Yes, you also need one for Google Analytics and for some of the affiliate programs. I cobbled one together I think from Google Analytic's suggested one and also a free template that I found somewhere. Or perhaps I've just used Google's suggested one. Anyone's welcome to copy it at www.30dc.bzblgs.com but I can't vouch for it.
- Isha (Marysia)
Prolly best not to merely copy mine as I now see that it doesn't contain Google Adsense's required statements.
- Isha (Marysia)
Guys and Gals, please be very careful with your privacy and terms etc. Google "Are you a duck at the fairground shooting range" for important information on how NOT to into legal trouble.
- Mark McGimpsey
Oh. Thank you for that. I never read that before... It's so way at the bottom... I'll put a privacy policy right away
- Art Y.
Inspired Writing Research, it's the 3rd tab along the top, or go straight to http://www.30dc.bzblgs.com/privacy... but since I've read Mark's ezine article I might be changing it. Also, I notice that both Google Adsense and Google Analytics have suggested privacy statements, so best to go by them and not by the privacy policy on my site.
- Isha (Marysia)
Thanks for that suggested Google search Mark. V interesting and useful EzineArticle
- Isha (Marysia)
Err... Is it ok to copy a Privacy Policy from another person's site without permission? Because I found quite a nice one...
- Art Y.
No!! They may have had an attorney make it for them exclusively.Take a look at this one that I just put together in about 10 mins.http://demotestsite.info/temp.... If that will work for you Here is where you can create it http://209.204.219.152/free_ut.... If you go with this let me know and I will show you how (free)to customize it easily and fix a "bad" Link hidden in it.Your call. Another really good place for all kinds of documents is DocStoc http://www.docstoc.com/
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
Oh. Ok. Then I better take off the one I'm using then. Thanks!
- Art Y.
Ok. I want to go with this one Ron. Can you show me where to fix the bad hidden link?
- Art Y.
There are lots of this sort of thing for free on the net. But if they've broken someone else's copyright themselves then any users could be in trouble. http://ezinearticles.com/...
- Isha (Marysia)
I don't know if anybody has been to this site, but it may be a great place to post documents relevant to your niche. I've seen it before, but today I decided to try it out. I got 31 hits in less than an hour on my document. Maybe because it was new I got so many hits? Dunno - but test it out!! - http://www.scribd.com/
This is a great website which tends to rank really well. I've been doing some testing and in some cases the documents that were posted on scribd.com outranked squidoo or hubpages hubs or lenses. This website can be a good traffic generator ;-)
- Robertas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Scribd is a document sharing website. It houses 'more than 2 million documents' and 'drew more than 21 million unique visitors in May 2008, little more than a year after launching, and claims 1.5 million registered users.' The site was initially funded with $12,000 funding from Y Combinator, but has since received over $3.7 million from Redpoint Ventures and The Kinsey Hills Group.
- Jolly Panda
Love Scribd because people with great information about "stuff" post it there. they aren't marketers, just normal people, so they don't know that their information freely given is gold dust to us. Check through using your niche and see what is there, you might find buried treasure
- Allison
Thanks Allison - I'll check it out :)
- Jolly Panda
I just posted two articles and got 11 views in the first five minutes! Incredible.
- Lauren
Yes Scribd is a valuable site for authority building like hubs, squidoos thanks for the reminder to pay attention to less buzzed about opportunities to communicate with targeted audiences.
- JuneM
And if you wouldn't mind being my referral, you can enter this referral code when you're signing up: dwmposce .Forgive me. I'm too shameless... :(

If you have time take a look at symbaloo.com. My initial impression is good. I think this will make an excellent central place for all my regular sites, including all my blogs and websites. Also a place to look at news, feeds and use other cool sites/tools.
I am putting together a weekly podcast for my niche. I am considering using Podbean.com as it looks as though I can upload my podcasts to itunes from there. Has anybody used them or does anybody have any other suggestions.
Eureka! My market really did tell me what product they want and yes, its not what I planned to do before all the market research but even better there isn't a comparable product available! World DOMINATION is mine! (Well at least in this microniche)
Since October 2008 it is possible to link to a specific point in a youtube video. I use this when i blog a video review in my niche. Here's how to deep link http://www.youtube.com/blog...
At last - I have been searching for how to automatically thank people for following and to automatically follow people who follow me. It's taken me a week to find it but this is great. If you want to send a courtesy reply to people who follow you, go here.

You may want to do some research first. start on search.twitter.com with some keywords; autoreply autofollow autotweet auto dm etc. Use your imagination. There's been a huge backlash lately. Also, if you want to schedule a regular tweet later, I suggest TwitResponse.com built by a trusted TDC veteran :)
- Ed Shahzade /NextInstinct
Hmmm I am very nervous about entering my twitter name and password into any 3rd party software atm. TwitResponse.com does look useful. I am going to steer clear of TweetLater.com until this whole security issue has been dealt with!

The State Of The Twittersphere (HubSpot Edition) ... you better be ready things will take off in 2009 - 20% of twtr users registered in last 60 days ! - http://www.techcrunch.com/2008...
I hope everyone caught this post by retroriver. Hubspot is on their game. Providing some great content at no costs - just subscription. I suggest you take a look.

In case this hasn't been shared before. Came accross some interesting FREE screen capture software for Mac & PC. I believe created by the developers of Camtasia. Called JING - http://www.jingproject.com/
Jing is great for short free vids. I have used it to walk people through filling out profiles, sig lines....It's not as fancy as the 'big' programs but, gets the job done.
- Sheryl Loch
Jing is fantastic. I used it a lot to document my niches. Sometimes I keep a word document of my justification for pursuing a niche and use Jing to capture MS screens since they are a moving target
- Frank Dobner
Yes, I have Jing and see no need to get anything else.
- Nancy Sutherland
I actually prefer Skitch. It's also FREE (as in beer). Jing sucked up waaay too much CPU. They never seemed to fix the problem, so I switched to Skitch and love it. http://skitch.com/
- Craig Eubanks
I have used Jing Project and there are two drawbacks - limited to 5 mins and there is a big header promoting the Jing Project which your viewers also see. But otherwise - fantastic and so easy to use
- Karen Purves
Hostgator is reputable, but still better in your own name Marysia.
- Mark McGimpsey
The sky is falling ... the sky is falling LOL.. Use a domain registrar instead of a hosting company to get your domain name and there are no issues. Some of the items on the list are completely untrue or written in a deceptive manor that make them technically true but at the same time not practically true
- Mark South
Yes but I got something out of the tip about using a private email address for your ICANN information. I am getting spammed out of existence on the one email address I have in my registrations. Idiots, you think they would know better then to leave that type of information open to anyone.
- Greg Martin
Stick to godaddy. they don't do any of that stuff (except charging for parking, but who is going to fall for that one?)
- Frann Leach
Frann. Until yesterday after I posted this link, I hadn't heard of any problems with GoDaddy. I was then told of a problem which I can't repeat on a public forum and as a result I and some others will be moving our domains out of GoDaddy in due course. Don't ask for details because I won't say anything more, except that the problem I heard of might or might not affect me in the future.
- Mark McGimpsey
I buy at Godaddy which is nice and cheap (esp with coupons) but immediately I point my domain at my current hosting company.
- Isha (Marysia)
Check this website(http://twurl.nl/n7mnb3) which is like the Godaddy. The best part about it is its FREE for a 7 Day Trial period. Where you get FREE Domain name and 10 FREE email accounts. Once you are an active member you get to be their affiliate and earn weekly bonus programs. So you get Domain name + Affiliate at the same time which no other provider provides this feature.
- Pramod
I transferred all the "Registrant/Default Contact" info for my domains into my name & my contact details (used a myprivacy.ca email address). I take it that it's ok to leave "Administrative Contact" and "Technical Contact" and "Auxilary Billing Contact" as Hostgator's?
- Isha (Marysia)
You can either record it again with a FREE software Camstudio or Free 30 day trial with Camtasia studio. The other way is using the embed code or the URL of the video in Blip TV wherever you want to put it.
- Pramod
flashgot, a firefox (flock) add-on will do it for you :)
- Jorge Blanco
from twhirl
Still don't get the whole content duplication thing - everyone says none of that matters anymore - what about you tube and flagshot? We use youtube on most squidoo lenses, but what about just finding 1 u like 4 your own pages - can we do that?
- Inspired Writing Research
Who else has problems with Twhirl? The twitter client is not working for me. They say that I should update, but the update doesn't run because it says the AIR version it requires is no longer supported...
Tried it a bunch of times more just now. Still no luck :( I'm using tweetdeck at the time for twitter and twhirl for FF
- Jorge Blanco
from twhirl
I got an auto update notify. Then it said "this app requires a version of Adobe Air that is no longer supported" I tried twice and gave up and went with Ed's suggestion from last night: TweetDeck. Ed did say not to use twhirl for FF, but to access it in the browser. You do get a lot more functionality that way...
- Frann Leach
I know, but FF's javascript seems to keep breaking Flock for me... I cannot leave FF open in the browser for too long
- Jorge Blanco
from twhirl
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one having problems with the twitter feed. I thought it was my computer acting up! I tried updating, but it said I already had the latest version. It just gets stuck on stupid when I try to log on.
- Paul
Jorge is Twhirl working for you now? I had a message when I tried to log in this morning, but everything is ok now, hope it's the same for you.
- Groobers
Got to admit guys - i think im movine to tweetdeck - it seems to be more stable and i like the layout
- Ed Dale
Per ed's advice, I've been using Tweetdeck all day today. I like it a little better also. I find it easier to follow people with it.
- Paul
Dunno, I've been in tweetdeck since twhirl broke down. And truth be told I like tweetdeck better too.
- Jorge Blanco
from twhirl
I have been using Tweetdeck of late, when I do use a twitter client.
- Sam Sotiropoulos
I have been using twitterfox without any issues
- Mark South
