Smart Youtube is a Wordpress Youtube Plugin that allows you to easily insert Youtube videos/playlists in your post, comments and in RSS feed. The main purpose of the plugin is to correctly embed youtube videos into your blog post. The video will be shown in full in your RSS feed as well. From version 2.0 Smart youtube also supports playback of high quality videos, works on iPhone, produces xHTML valid code (unlike YouTUbe embed code), allows you to view videos in fullscreen and most recently supports YouTube playlists. The plugin is designed to be small and fast and not use any external resources. It has a number of customizable options."

You may have had emails in the last 2/3 months from Commission Junction UK &/or from Affiliate Window, telling you that amongst other things their new guidelines include: "Affiliates must not use a mechanism whereby users are encouraged to click to interact with content where it is unclear or confusing what the outcome will be: For example: [...]...
or confusing what the outcome will be: For example: [...] Opening the merchant's site without making it clear that this will occur". Affiliates contravening the code will be flung out. I quickly went through my posts unlinking all the keyword-to-affiliate-merchant links. How can we get around this? Are our 30dc sites now defunct?

Would love to have your comments on this issue. Affiliate Window & Commission UK are prolly the biggest UK-based affiliate organisations in the UK. If you're signed up to them, I wonder what you've been doing re your affiliate links in your blog posts?
- Isha (Marysia)
The US have now caught up of course (FTC). Seems that the UK got there first...

This looks like a good UK aff network: http://shopzilla-publisher-blog.co.uk/ Seems more user-friendly than Digital/Affiliate Window. And they seem to have some good tutorial videos http://www.youtube.com/user... Shopzilla US is only open to sites that have an established US clientele. Anyone using either of them? Lisa? Andy? Linda?
Hey Folks, I am a fellow UK 30dcer, Just started this year, missed the live sessions as my mate told me about it end of August, pleased to meet you all
Unlikely I'd have thought, it's not out yet. On the other hand talking about what might be big in the future is a popular activity.

Yes but the API and sandbox for web developers using Google Wave is out now and I am working on it. It manybe too complex for 30DC? It is due for release end of this year. http://code.google.com/apis...

Consumers are slowly learning how to cope | Trends | Marketing Week As attitudes to the recession shift from fear to acceptance, marketers would be wise to follow the spending patterns set by consumers as they establish coping strategies. - http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/consume...
Anyone managed to set the new rank tracker module of Market Sam to fetch UK results yet? My project is UK based in MS but the ranking info fetched is google.com, so not much use. Is there a way to adjust it?
Well, I been thinking about it at the back of my head today, & a couple of things: 1. find some decent keywords, put up a blog, & either sell them on the back of a free teaser or they (or 1 or 2 of them) could be the free teaser to get them into your blog. Depends how valuable you think they are: you could give away one or 2 & charge for the others (I've been making notes on one of Eben Pagan's homestudy seminars today http://tinyurl.com/qk4nfx
- Isha (Marysia)
Pagan's video is v good by the way, & if you've not seen it could give you some ideas that would answer your question. 2. Find someone whose blog/site gets good visitor numbers in a related (but not competing) area & ask to do a post or an offer on their blog, & you'd tell the readers that they can get the tutorials on your blog.
- Isha (Marysia)
What we don't know is how long they are, what you think they're worth, what your intention was behind making them etc. So not sure if either of those suggestions actually fit your reality?
- Isha (Marysia)
3. Hunt around the internet finding out who & where are crying out for just that sort of tutorial. I'm reminded of the mantra of the 30dc, something about not having the product before doing the market research. 4. If you think they're good (you might like to verify that by getting someone to go through them) then perhaps Clickbank?
- Isha (Marysia)
Some good suggestions there, along the lines of what I'm grasping towards. I'm not sure what these kind of tutorials might be worth so I'm going to have to test it somehow. Keyword research has been underway but the specific niche is untested. I think I need to write a step by step plan now. Meanwhile, thanks for the ideas and I'll send you the plan and videos if you like.

Yes, this is going about it backwards but there was a reason - I was stuck offline so it was the best I could do with my time. At the worst, I have content for five blog posts but feel I should be able to make more of it.
- Andy Roberts
I don't have Mac but thanks for the offer. Agree, you could make more of it.
- Isha (Marysia)
I've posted the first video on my blog to see what happens, there's also a list of what's covered in the remaining 4 vidoes - Number 1 is not the best one http://distributedresearch.net/blog...

Reminder: the UK's Inland Revenue deadline for filing tax returns is January 31. The postal deadline has long gone and any tax returns not yet filed must be filed online by Jan 31.
Yes - system changed in 2008. Ouch indeed. But at least it puts an end to the IR pretending they've not received posted returns for those of us who leave things till the last minute :)
