OK I'm learning to stop despising and love my niche. I think I know just enough about it now to be dangerous. Meanwhile, over 250 visits to my site but still mostly stumbles. IOW my data don't tell me anything yet, lesson 18 notwithstanding.
I did some bookmarking for those who have sites posted. Meanwhile I'm starting to seriously question the idea that it's OK to choose a niche you know nothing about. I feel like I'm faking it, which is ok for one post but kinda sucks article after article (though I guess I'm slowly learning...)
Hi Scott, I agree you really should have some personal knowledge and have an interest in your niche. Those that go to your site that have an interest will soon find you out and ignore you otherwise.

You don't need knowledge so much as interest/passion. Think of it like book reports we all had to do in school. Pick a book (niche) that interests you, go read it (surf 'net for info), and then make your report (write content) about what you've learned.

I agree with the posts concerning our knowledge of a particular niche. I too am having trouble writing about something I know nothing of. Hoever as I see it there are many successful affiliate marketeers who sell many things and they can't possibly know all their niches. They are in it to make money.
I think you will find that they became successful with a niche they knew something about, once successful they have the time and resources to "hit and run" with other affiliate programs they know less about. They have the finance to run big ads etc, etc..Don't think we are quite there yet!!

Day 14. I hate my niche. There's not a lot that I can think to write about. The keywords ended being a product instead of a market. I still think I can grind out the needed articles and see if I can turn it into a $1 :)
Well, people have a need for that product, can you write content around those needs? What about instructional content on using that product? eg 10 Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Widget

And don't be afraid to start again. Don't fall in love with the 30-day part. It's actually a 365 day thing, and if you can make more money, easier, by taking an extra 3-4 days to find a good niche, then go for that.

Thanks for the support guys. www.soyscentedcandles.net Ranked number 15 broad match and number 3 keyword specific. I feel real good about that. I put one article on hubpages and had another set to go for squidoo but I'm changing my niche. Now that I know what we're doing with the Niche I think I can find one that fits better. Quality posts are important. I'll update my progress :)

Any techies in the group? I bought the shared hosting with a new domain thru hostgator and loaded my first Wordpressdirect theme with no problem. I've got another great domain but it's with 1and1.com. I'm trying to load another Wordpressdirect site into Hostgator & domain forward...need help :-)
you need to change the name server for the domain name at 1and1.com to point to host gator.make same as your other domain name.

Steve can you have a look at my blog and tell me whether/where you think I might add product pix? I've only made two posts. I'm just not seeing the opportunity to put a picture in there without totally throwing off the flow of the blog. naturalskinproductsblog.easyandnatural.com Appreciate it. Anyone else reading this please feel free to offer some pointers if you got 'em.

Hi, 56 members and only a couple want their sites bookmarked! I know you don't have to join in with the Anti Team if you dont want to but surely a few more of you want to take advantage of this offer. Go to the FB Group page and stick those sites up!
I think quite a few of us are behind schedule, myself included. If you will keep your offer open, I'll call on you at the appropriate time. (Also, I know that there are several on the team who are only following along and taking notes but are not actually doing the Challenge, which is why they joined this particular team.)

Ditto here. The day job and the night classes cut considerably into the time I have available for TDC. Even though I'm not behind, I'm definitely not "caught up" either

WordPress Migration Help? This is a bit off-topic, but can anyone point me to directions on moving a WP blog to a new hosting site, like from TCH to Host Gator ... ran into gotcha about table prefixes in the export file when I tried this earlier. Would love to avoid manually recreating the msgs!
More .... I have the target site set up as a different URL, so the sites co-exist. I just want to duplicate the content (posts, lists, etc.) to the target site.

Got a blog up last night. Not even indexed yet, only 4 social bookmarks, and in the few hours I've had 67+ hits on my blog and a4 clickthroughs to the sales page, ost from StumbleUpon. No sales yet.
