It seems like Twitter doesn't know what it wants to be. Do they want to be like MSFT and Windows and let everyone else make the apps or do they want to make the apps themselves. Apps in this case would be additional functionality built on the Twitter's raw data stream. Is this a poor analogy? I view Twitter more as a platform.

sms popularity in India is nothing to do with voice mail. SMS in India is like Mozilla ubiquity for firefox. A command line interface for the mobile phone. Booking flights, paying bills and other thousands of usages including social networking.

I'll go to Starbucks if it's convenient but I prefer Seattle's Best if I can find one (I normally can't) or Peet's. But, if I'm serious about a cup of coffee, I'll go to Lighthouse which is, by far, the best coffee in Seattle. I do not, however, want the Starbucks near my house to close. It's brand new, very nice, and very convenient.

There shouldn't be many differences. But so far so good on my system. Seems a little snappier and uses less RAM than earlier betas.

The welcome page says "Release Candidate 3" after I install from the Mac OS X dmg with an MD5 of 27ff7989db6a206cdfc8989aca9f9283. However, the about page says just "version 3.0".

The "about" page has said just "Version 3.0" for a while (or at least it does previous in RCs). I can haz actual release and not RC?

Shawn, go to http://getfirebug.com. Under releases you can download beta 12. It works with 3. I'm not sure how stable it is, so, as with all betas, installer beware! They claim it to be stable.

For those wondering, the md5 of the Mac OS X download from getfirefox.com and the one I provided above match. Both are 27ff7989db6a206cdfc8989aca9f9283 Those are the official versions
