Trey Ratcliff is among the first and most vocal proponents of photo sharing on the internet and makes his entire portfolio available via Creative Commons from his uber-popular blog. His generosity and forward-thinking approach to being an artist on the internet has been one of many inspirations for me. Thomas Hawk is another rightfully popular internet rockstar photographer whose photos and social vision have kept me thinking for the past few years. Scott Jarvie, Boris Gorelik and Alex Lapidus, shockingly brilliant photographer all, have generously allowed me to share their amazing work alongside mine.

When you start to really know someone, all his physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in his energy, recognize the scent of his skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your... - http://silas216.tumblr.com/post...
For some reason, Derrick, I really can't imagine you saying "holy shit" about a movie trailer. ANY movie trailer... (I mean, I can see you getting excited, just not using that particular phrase.)

For the second song, the judges would also accept, "What yo name is, baby? What yo name is?"
- ha3rvey ($10 HUGS!!!)
For the first example, though, the judges would have also accepted "doobie doobie doo", which might have hurt their case a little. :P

Good message, bad photoshop. Line up your image sizes, people!

It's like what happens when you run text through Google Translate again and again and again.

You can do it in reverse as well. Take an Adele song and compare to Beach boys.
- Dario Gomez
Can I nominate "What's New Pussycat" for the reverse old song?

Bing Crosby > Frank Sinatra. By the time Sinatra sang it, it was 1964 and the Beatles just started their US tour.... There is your answer :)

I've thought about buying one of the Epi Les Pauls and putting minis in it to make a replica of Townshend's from The Kids Are Alright. Complete with the stenciled number and the Dimarzio in the middle.

When I say, "take it back," I mean that I'll hopefully get a replacement or repair under warranty.

It's an Epi - they'll order you another one.

Guitar Center has a 30-day "no questions asked" warranty. So they refunded the value of the original guitar to a gift card and then used that to order another, brand new, identical one. Should be here in 3-5 days. Which means that I can't us it in rehearsal on Wednesday, but I should have it in time for Sunday morning. Kudos to Guitar Center for handling this so well.

The replacement one arrived today, and the USB worked fine. Yay! Unfortunately, there was some sort of electrical problem where one of the pickups was bleeding signal (even with the volume off), so I returned it this evening and moved up to a Gibson.

That can be touch and go too - I spent 12 years searching for a Les Paul that was under $5000 and didn't suck. Ended up with my "Guitar of the Week" goldtop Les Paul Deluxe and haven't looked back.

"Possibly the Most Incompetent TSA Story Yet The storyline: TSA screener finds two pipes in passenger's bags. Screener determines that they're not a threat. Screener confiscates them anyway, because of their "material and appearance." Because they're not actually a threat, screener leaves them at the checkpoint. Everyone forgets about them. Six hours later, the next shift of TSA screeners notices the pipes and -- not being able to explain how they got there and, presumably, because of their "material and appearance" -- calls the police bomb squad to remove the pipes. TSA does not evacuate the airport, or even close the checkpoint, because -- well, we don't know why."

I've been beating up on myself a lot this past week regarding my inactivity and disinterest in dieting and weight loss. Truth be told, I think I was a bit fatigued from concentrating on it for a long time. Weighing in on Sunday and seeing progress was a great catalyst to keep going. Also having a supportive partner......
This is me weighing about 420 pounds. I can't begin to list all the health issues I had. Seeing this now, I just can't help but cringe....a lot. I need to be nicer to myself.
- Mary Carmen
Weight loss can be mentally exhausting. Be good to you!

Yeah, gotta give yourself credit for what you've accomplished. Go, you. :)
- Jenica
I am very proud of you, and you have come a long way. I have mad respect for that, and I totally understand how you feel. I am dealing with that right now.
- aden {Chickadee}
((hugs)) I hope you can be kind to yourself past, present and future.

Most, if not all, of us have a life-long struggle being honest with ourselves, reality, and the possible. I see great courage here, MC, inspiringly so. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.

I've pretty much destroyed all photos of me from this time. I don't even recognize that person. But damn if I still don't feel like her.

You've come so far. I am very proud of you, MC. *hugs*

I know from having hung out with you a couple times that you are always striving to be your best self. That takes a lot of courage and makes me proud to say I know you. Go Team MC!

You can do it! You sound vey focused, and you sound like you believe you can make changes. That's the hardest part--believing.

Wow. NIce work. Everybody gets discouraged now and then and progress isn't always linear. Just keep your goals in mind and you'll be fine.

Wow, awesome, MC. The wife wants to know your secret :)

It's easy to forget how far you've come. Give yourself some slack and don't beat yourself up. You've certainly already come a long way, and it's a marathon, not a sprint...

John... I know. I have been tempted many times before. Working with chemists, I have been clued into what actually goes into those foods to make them 'yummy' and that has put me off processed food

Eating healthy is definitely not what most people think.
