"http://edition.cnn.com/2009... ... No, I don't but I do feel that my time spent watching advertising on Hulu is equally valuable (if not more so because I am more likely to watch the ad instead of changing the channel) watching online as it is watching broadcast tv."

"Well, I can't say it's a surprise..The guy that owns News Corp. has publicly stated before that NO content should be free. The simple fact is that these people simply don't get it. The lessons beaten into the music industry seem to be beyond these other companies. People are sick of cable companies, and tired of the way they "bundle" the channels and deliver content. People have a 75 year old expectation of free content from radio and TV. I think most people have absolutely no problem torrenting TV shows because they see them as free anyway. Particularly when it's perfectly OK to digitally record TV shows with a DVR (as long as you pay the cable company for the privilege) . They need to get off their ass and innovate in the space and realize that the business will change, just as the record business is changing. People will not be willing to pay for crappy Fox content. Whether they like it or not."

"What difference does market share make to Apple? Why switch from a market willing to pay a premium price for the machines they get and put up with Apple. It's easier to sell one machine for x amount of profit than to sell ten machines for the same profit. As long as Apple is making the money they make off machines, you won't see a change. Why should they buy market share at the cost of the margin? When consumers stop buying, they will make changes and not before then. For me, one of the reasons I won't buy a Mac right now is the BS Apple's been pulling with excluding applications from the App Store. To me, Apple has no business whatsoever excluding me from loading whatever software I want on a device I own. They can kiss off. What's keeping them from limiting what I can load on a Mac?"
