“Made a little Google public profile search engine for the 130,000+ profiles, if you want to grab the PHP+SQL to set it up you can email info@blogoscoped.com”
Out of interest, why aren't you making this available online? Is it just for server reasons? Would you be happy for someone else to host it? - Tony Ruscoe
This was just meant to be a small side project and I didn't feel like hosting at the moment, but if anyone wants to host it, please email me so we could discuss... - Philipp Lenssen
Nice :)... Google has only 130 K profiles? - Bindu Reddy
Bindu, those were all that were contained in the Sitemaps files. However I suppose those are all only the ones users set to public, and even then I don't know if there are more public ones not contained in the Sitemaps... - Philipp Lenssen
"When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?" - Paul Buchheit

I'm still too good at math at the bottom of the bottle - Amber aka SDA
Maybe it should measure your reaction times instead of forcing you to do math. I'm thinking, "punch the monkey". - Paul Buchheit
=Amber -- need to be able to choose how difficult your math problems are. - j1m
the interesting thing is, the most powerful part is just the second-guess: it doesn't have to be a math problem. just a simple "do you really want to send this" reminder might do... - Taylor Davidson
How about letting my Gmail friends review my Drafts, only drafts that get liked will be sent out :-) - Majento
@Taylor: I think the math problem -- or something like it -- is essential. Don't know about you, but I've "permanently deleted" countless files just because I reflexively hit "Okay" when the warning dialog box popped up. Without the math problem to keep one honest, one will end up clicking past warnings in an unconscious, mechanistic manner. *I* would, at least. - Chester
@Chester: I'll buy that. Needs to be more than just a reminder... but the question doesn't have to be math. The key, as you point out, is for the question to require you to answer something... - Taylor Davidson
Chester, have you learned not to reflexively click buttons yet? :P - Tanath
When will they come out with "delayed sending"? I want to have 60 seconds after I click send before the email is actually sent. That little bit of time would stop a lot of confusion. - Benjamin Golub
These are all half-assed suggestions. What we all really need is for our e-mail app to read our minds *and* know better than ourselves whether or not a message should be sent out before further review. - Chester
Two problems with this gadget, a) I want to make it trigger on every email, but after you solve the problems successfully, there's a window during which you can send more outgoing emails unchallenged; b) even at max difficulty level 5 the problems take only 15 seconds to solve sober - it seems unlikely that they'd take more than twice as long to solve when drunk - though I will have to verify that experimentally, I guess. - ƃuɐʞ
i have one of these and love it. although eye.fi is very appealing - peter
I wonder, has anyone's flip-out USB connector snapped off yet? :-) - Slippy Lane
I've actually been using the 2GB version of these cards for a few years now. I've never had an issue with them. They are fantastic. I just saw the 2GBs are $22 on Amazon. Why would you buy any other SD card when these are available? I wish microSD had some similar innovation. - Jason Shellen
also 2GB has problems with old Windows PCs (W2K has no fix, and for XP there is need for patch) - silpol
and I prefer Sandisk's MicroMate as USB reader vs all this mechanically-less-reliable usb flips - silpol
Ah karma! What did I do to you?!? My 2gb SD card w/ flip out usb thingy broke(ish) this morning when I went to download some pictures. I've had the thing for almost 3 years... so I guess it was only a matter of time. And the card still works. It is like when escalators break down to become stairs. Sad... but still get the job done. - Michael Leggett
An escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. You would never see an "Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order" sign, just "Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience." -Mitch Hedberg - Michael Leggett
I'm just trying to convert myself being a morning person. I really don't get it. After being in bed (sleeping!) from 9PM, at 7AM I STILL won't wake up... - Claudio Cicali
At 3:30pm every day, I'm a sleepy monkey - Ginger Makela
I have tried to take naps in the past and have always ended up feeling awful for the rest of the day. I've tried both short naps (~20 minutes) and longer naps but either way I end up suffering from "sleep inertia" for hours (ie: until I get a night's sleep). - Laurence Gonsalves
I often have the craziest dreams when I nap. Awsome. - MLx
