I'm assuming some kind of music video. This is a popular dance/activity of some kind...I think in Jamaica. There was an epidemic of broken weiners as a result. (this is not a joke)
- Rahsheen?
Dude...that video is just...WTF. I thought I'd seen it all, but they're just blatantly miming all types of innapropriate shit to the nth degree
- Rahsheen?
That video made my netherbits hurt just watching it. :-/
- Hookuh Tinypants
Probably hasn't been heard of since because you can actually BREAK YOUR WINKY! Which is highly disturbing to me. Hence why I would never even think of doing this. I treasure my winky, along with a relatively small number of other individuals.

Also see http://jezebel.com/5234308... - in particular, "Just when you were getting over the horror of daggering, a video of extreme dancing to reggae music shows a man jumping off of an 8 foot column on to the crotch of a woman.Oh yeah: And then he throws a table at her."

I didnt really want to add everyone i know on friendfeed to my facebook, i like to keep them seperate as much as i can. but you know what, fuck it http://www.facebook.com/simon... add a note saying you;re from friendfeed if you add me, then i can group everyone up :)
- Simon Wicks
Thanks, Simon. I've not started going through these yet. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
I'm only going to add the people i actually talk to on here. I have a lot less people on my follow list than you, so its a bit easier for me :)
- Simon Wicks
Remember, guys. According to FB, you're only allowed 5000 friends. Spend them wisely.
- James Myatt
As if we weren't before? Were they really that many people here who didn't also have a FB account, even if they didn't list it in their profile? I've been with FB since 2004

Well, with this news it is pushing me to start using my real name for web services and to kill (or at least slowly stop using) the tomit persona that I have used for many years. Find me here... http://www.facebook.com/ronaldb...

I'm on Facebook, but I don't have a name in my profile URL (yet; I'm still new...). But if you want it, it's http://www.facebook.com/profile... -- if you friend me, tell me you're from FF.
- Dennis Jernberg
I don't freaking have one because I never wanted to sign up for Facebook. :P Now I find out that through no fault of my own I'm technically a Facebook user? GAH.
- Cheryl Jones
I do not use it much LOL I just post to it from other sites so to fill up my friends stream, I do get messages and some status in text. Anyone who really wants to add me, use the facebook link on my profile. :o)
- David Gross
www.facebook.com/drodzand you won't see much since I got the privacy settings on max in Facebook. Just another reason why I think Facebook is completely different from friendfeed. I hope they keep friendfeed running because I use both services in diametrically diverse ways.

Thanks Rob, I had forgotten my username for I always used my email address to login - I found there is a settings > username > change thing that lets you change your username once and then you get a facebook.com/username url!

I am thinking about just using my Public Page more. Keep my regular profile for family and coworker data. Follow me here if you want more of the type of posts I do here of Friendfeed. http://www.facebook.com/pages...

Twitter appears to be down for me. Attempted to access it via web with both accounts; no luck. TweetDeck and Seemic isn't pulling up Twitter; nor can I access any Twitter pages. Web gives an error that reads "problems loading page connection was reset". However, the "IsTwitterDown" page says it is functioning.
- Hollywood Amanda
Thank you Bill. However, I tested that site with other social media networks and it's telling me everything is down. Maybe an error within the site.
- Hollywood Amanda
Thanks everyone. I thought twitter wasn't liking me this morning -- seems it isn't liking quite a few people. :~(

Twitter is still down for me. I can't even log in to try and contact someone.
- Dee
Twitter has not released any information in regards to their site being down. I'm going to attempt to contact a few employees to see what I can find out. I'll keep everyone posted. ✽ It also looks like Twitter has been down for some users for 4+ hours (via research)

Twitter is down for me as well. I'm just outside of Toronto.

I'm also golden horseshoe and twitter is down for me. The official status blog does not report anything wrong as of 11:05am EST
- Canageek
They've updated their status site with the following:"We are currently investigating a problem whereby some Twitter clients in widely scattered network locations are unable to connect to twitter.com." They could learn something from Saleforce.com who post their uptime stats.

Thanks B2B Specialist -- I'm relieved to know I'm not going crazy.

Version 3.1.1 of the firmware broke a highly-important feature, as indicated in several different support threads. In short, when an application is opened, you can no longer double-tap the home button to pull up the iPod controls.
- Joshua Schnell
from Bookmarklet
Jeremy, are you running an app with music? I mean apps with its own music effects - not your music player. Trust me - it's broken.
- Tamar Weinberg
broke, broke, broke. I keep retrying it hoping that i'm just a little slow, but it stays broke every time.
- Joshua Schnell
LOVE this post. I won't say why I haven't upgraded yet, but I haven't, and I'm glad.
- Brad McCrorey
Not working for me in Safari. EDIT: Im an idiot and was trying it without music playing in iPod. With music on it works for me still.
- Robert DeBord
from iPhone
Glen, it doesn't work on my iPhone 3g. It seems to pop up sporadically when music is already playing, but if you're going from no music to trying to get that media player, I get taken out of the application and into the iPod application.
- Joshua Schnell
Glen, I have a 1G and a 2G. Are you running an app that is actually playing music? What apps are you trying?
- Tamar Weinberg
The screenshot associated with this post is actually one I created where it doesn't happen (Dactyl has no sound effects). But try it with a PlayFirst game or any game that actually prioritizes sound effects and music soundtracks, and you'll see that I'm not making this up.
- Tamar Weinberg
Jeremy/Glen - do you guys see what I'm talking about or do I need to be clearer in the post?
- Tamar Weinberg
Interesting to see you all go away when I clarify the issue.
- Tamar Weinberg
Glen, open up Flight Control. When it says "Would you like Game Sounds?" click YES. Then double tap on the home button and tell me if you see your controls. You won't. Exit out of the app and reopen it. Now click NO for the same question. Then double tap on the home button. You WILL see your controls. That's the problem. When app sounds take over, you have no way of accessing your iPod controls. Does that clarify?
- Tamar Weinberg
Yes, so do I, but it seems that Josh and I don't encounter what you say exists. Are you SURE you're actually running your phone with 3.1.1? I just find it strange that 2 of us can replicate this issue on three (I have an iPod touch 1st and 2nd gen) devices.
- Tamar Weinberg
Shrug. I'm not sure why so many people are impacted by this but you're not. I just don't get it. There are at least 3 threads with at least 30 people impacted by it in Apple's forums and it's as if you're the only one who isn't affected. Don't know what else to say. I'm in disbelief.
- Tamar Weinberg
Okay - since Glen showed me a video, I thought I'd clarify further given that I have more information. Maybe Flight Control isn't a good example then. You need to run an application which actually *turns off your songs* first. If you try it on an app like that (with no changed settings - I've never run Flight Control prior to testing this for Glen), you'll see that the controls are not there.
- Tamar Weinberg
"Some believe that Twitter has the power to change big events like Iranian elections. I think that its strength may be in much smaller, but still significant, ways. In fact, I was the matchmaker recently between a Barcelona cabbie and an American employee of a pharmaceutical company. Well, a matchmaker between the cabbie and this lady's BlackBerry, anyway. It happened like this: I have a Twitter search in TweetDeck that alerts me every time the word "Asay" is used on Twitter. (I need to be able to track down libel somehow!)"

So, what the point of using twitter in this case. Jabber-shell will be much better if you have no SSH.
- nonsleepr
Maybe the possibility of using any mobile device or anybody's computer (but maybe Jabber can do that to). On the other hand, because of the multitude of Twitter tools and connections, you could have more apps/situations trigger the action. A word found in a Twitter search could result in a command being sent to your Mac. Like 'eartquake' and 'boston' would automatically start your...

If Apple does release a tablet and that tablet is a glorified iPod Touch, I'll never buy one. It had better run a version of Snow Leopard and I had better not be required to go to some specific App Store to get programs for it. OR ELSE. [clenches fists]
- Akiva
I'll buy it pretty much regardless. :D
- iTad
from fftogo
If they go with multiple sizes for a tablet, I think the smaller ones will be glorified iPhones, and the biggers ones would have snow leopard on them. The bigger the screen, the more users are going to want to multitask.
- Joshua Schnell
I see 3 possibilities. 1) a tablet that uses an app store and basically is a large iPod Touch. 2) A tablet that is a Mac with a keyboard interface and modified UI to accommodate using a finger as a pointer. 3) A table that is a Mac but has a iPod Touch emulator to allow people to use the touch-based apps from the app store.
- Paul Franz
Joshua, I hope they don't do that. That would be HORRIBLY confusing to consumers. Unless maybe they're completely differently marketed. The "little ones" are just big iPods and the "big" ones are a new MacBook line...
- iTad
from fftogo
Tad, that's kind of how i'm leaning right now. Touches are getting bigger and more tablet like, and then a full tablet release.
- Joshua Schnell
No, they won't do that. Thats imbicillic. They'll have one (possibly two, since both Kindle's are selling so well). I can't see iPhone/iTouch Apps running - it'll screw up the graphics and Jobs will never allow that.
- Roberto Bonini
Differentiating product lines is imbecilic? Touch gets a little make over, and having a full fledge tablet released isn't really a huge change up.
- Joshua Schnell
actually I see the point Roberto's making here. iPhone doesn't come in multiple screen sizes 'cause then the UI for all the apps is screwed up. Making the iPhone OS run on a 10 incher will mean the devs will have to recreate the whole UI for the 10 inch screens. Not very likely that Apple will be taking that route.
- vijay
Vijay, that's a good point, but it wouldn't be the first time Apple's screwed over devs. lol
- Joshua Schnell
So this is a screenshot of FreeBSD/MacOS X Snow Leopard version ?
- Thierry Lhôte
iPhone/iPod apps will run as windows in Snow Leopard on the new tablet. And it will have A/V out so will replace the AppleTV. I just totally made all that up.
- Tinfoil 2.0
Hm. I'm trying to think how I'd want it to work. If anybody could, Apple could. But the idea of making a version of OS X that doesn't need a keyboard just sounds like a bad idea. That's *never* worked out as well as it sounds. Trying to force applications that are used to one size of screen work on another size screen also doesn't work out so well.
- Wirehead
I also don't think a iTablet as a separate OS is a good idea. If anything, it's probably easier to get all of the iPhone app writers to iTablet-enable their software, because all of them have been written recently. Hm. Will be interesting to watch. Next iPhone or next Newton? Only the shadow knows, and he's still trying to repress those naked Steve Jobs pictures he found.
- Wirehead
LogEx, windowed iPhone apps is a definite possibility. The ( allegedly fake ) screenshot leaks from the iTablet had shown the exact thing - standard iPhone apps running in windows.
- vijay
from iPhone
Yeah. I saw the fake screenshots. But they did have a good point and that is an Apple Tablet could easily be used to run multiple iPhone at the same time. Because could handle it. There are some things that I have problem with in that regard though. That is would a Table have the accelerator sensors like the iPod Touch/iPhone. If so, that would be very weird to try to play a game with such a big screen.
- Paul Franz
"Twistory supports Thunderbird, Google Calendar, Apple's iCal, and any other application that supports feeds using the iCalendar format. This means you can even download your Twitter posts to Microsoft Outlook or any other Web service you use to keep yourself organized. The service stays on top of your Twitter feed and adds your new tweets instantly, so it's not a one-time export that you have to repeat every time you say something new."

Would be nice for it to not be web-based. Or rather: Would be nice if someone makes some sort of script equivalent that could be run to create an ical file or something.

- Ruud van Wijngaarden
Twistory archiving of your Twitter updates to e.g. GoogleCalendar is better than nothing, though I find that the lack of back-link to the original Twitter status, as well as any links in the tweet not being clickable from the pop-up view in GCal are a major drawback. I have been importing my tweets into Tumblr (via the RSS feed), and it solves those two issues, though it's definitely...

The eight-part series was conceived by Bruce McCulloch and co-written by McCulloch and fellow Kids Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson. Directed by Kelly Makin, who helmed the original "Kids in the Hall" series and movie, "Brain Candy," the series is about what happens in a small town when all its most distinguished citizens are murdered. A suspect is arrested, there's a trial and many dark secrets are revealed along the way.

After 500 years, the patter of tiny paws: Beavers start to breed again after being hunted to extinction in Britain - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news...
"Taking a swimming lesson in the tranquil water of the lake and then pulling themselves up to snack on tasty willow shoots, these shy creatures do not realise they are making history. But these exclusive photographs are the proof that beavers are breeding again in Britain for the first time in 500 years. The babies - known as kits or yearlings - are part of a programme to reintroduce the animals into the wild after they were hunted to extinction in England by the 12th century and Scotland by the 16th for their pelts and meat."
