Great idea! I can't believe I didn't think of this one. :)
And the cool thing about this is that it updates/refreshes in real time. Who needs IRC anymore? :p

well their backend is jabber, so if they let u plug a jabber <-> IRC gateway bot in then ur good to go

yep, i'm using them. i get pretty crazy with them. i'm importing a lot of rss feeds here and then putting them in different lists. it's replacing my google reader.
