I don't understand a word, but it's nice to listen to. And also reminds me how cool YouTube can be for bringing these things to me from far away :)

the riff says: "Nanneddu meu, su mundu er gai: a sicut erat non torrat mai." that means: "dead John, the world has changed. the way it used to be, it will never be the same again". It's from a longer letter from a Sardinian friend to his friend.

Beautiful on the voices! but not very exciting choreography ;)

you mean the dinner recording? that's a typical Sardinian moment, before, during and after dinner the choirs use to sing all together. This kind of aggregative and warm way to keep the music spirit alive is one of the reasons that made me move to Sardinia some years ago.

Ohhhh! I just remembered that I need to check out the other clips, too! And -- now joking aside -- I think that's a neat tradition :) Gah, I am still having internet problems and it's late, so I will check the other clips out tomorrow :)

yep, it's one of those "never written" traditions that people still keep :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch... inuit throat sing (i dont know if this is a-cappella but for me it's really touching, not many female throat singers around)
