i like the color scheme alright, but yeah, the anime rockstar thing is a little out of place on a javascript framework's homepage - Nathan Chase
I'm just glad it seems to be more stable than the last site. It was more than annoying have the documentation site down all the time when I needed to look up something. - Lindsay Donaghe
Michael: Claim? Dude, it was EVERYWHERE. and Jeff: Priorities? Above relatively meaningless things like the Olympics and the Oscars - and CERTAINLY football (!), then this metric of viewership is a wonderful indication. - Steve Isaacs
It is amazing to see how many auxiliary and rather useless and eye-pleasing and online-PR-promoting tools there are for things like Twitter and FriendFeed. This Grader is one of those. What does it change to have some number assigned to your name, not least because you have not the slightest idea how it is calculated? Why wasting time, energy, money and efforts? P.S. mine was 5 out of 100. - Hayk Hakobyan
Twitter Grade: 90 - Rank #584 out of 7063 - Morgan
Twitter Grade: 42 - Rank #3688 out of 7067. yes! - Cee Bee
44 which I can't argue with since I've only been Tweeting for a month. Grading methodology seems pretty simplistic. A FriendFeed grader would be a lot more interesting and useful. - Chris Selland
Twitter Grade: 69 - Rank #1995 out of 7101. Not bad considering that I haven't really used it for almost two months now. - Cyvros/fyc
@anna nom nom foodz wub i love the foodz - Caroline
I love this tune. have you ever heard the absolutely sublime Michael Jackson mashup that Go Home Productions did? It will send chills down your spine! - Michael Moran
Sounds like a tune I'd love to hear....have you got a link? - Emma
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $980.92 | John McCain would tax you $900.33 MORE than Barack Obama. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Obama is going to help me by filling forms out for me? That's going to make him pretty busy going house to house filling out people's taxes for them. :) - Jason Shultz via twhirl
people on digg are complaining about this already. I don't see anyone making a McCain tax cut webpage. What's up republicans? Can't cut my taxes? - Stefan Hayden
Josh- even up to $200,000 the site still says the cut would be $4,156.62. It is only at $500,000 that it says you will probably not going to get a cut. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think I'll ever make over $200,000 a year. (I'll be ecstatically happy if I ever get to $100,000) - Karin Dalziel
Josh, good money is a very relative term. My household income might not be squat in LA, but where I live it's twice the average. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $1,422.73 John McCain would tax you $791.59 MORE than Barack Obama. - Vincent Ferrari
Well, then I hope the chart/utility is pretty accurate. Then most of us will be OK. - Josh Haley
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $980.92
John McCain would tax you $900.33 MORE than Barack Obama. - Stefan Hayden
And what's with the policy that you can only have 1, 3 or 6 kids? ;) - Josh Haley
I never put too much faith in these things. But then I'm a bit of a cynic. :) - Karin Dalziel
Obama's tax plan would be hugely damaging to the US economy if it ever happened. We'd all be hurting. - Dave Roth
@Dave Roth - substantiate this, please... - JA Castillo
Way to throw that out there with no backing Dave. Are you saying that Bush's tax plan (with McCain just wants to make permanent) has been beneficial to our economy? - Jason Carreira
@Dave Roth: They said the same thing about Clinton's tax plans in 1992. Hmmmm how'd that end up? - Jason B.
I'll be happy if Obama doesn't restore Bush's marriage penalty tax. Our Federal Taxes went from 8.5k+ to less than 5k. I don't wanna pay the IRS a huge chunk of my check all year. - Tad - just Tad
Here's what it said for me: "Your Obama Tax Cut is: You will probably not get an Obama Tax Cut" I knew it! In fact, he'll increase my taxes through tax hikes on dividends and capital gains. - Morton Fox
@Morton, somehow I think you'll live... Maybe he'll send you a nice note of thanks. - Jason Carreira
Obama to me: "No tax cut for you. Next!" - Morton Fox
People who think a modern government can be run without money but instead on magical fairy dust and unicorn farts crack me up. - Jason B.
Jason - The Clinton tax increase caused the 2000 recestion, the Bush tax cuts resulted in record government revenue. - Robert Hafer
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $970.76 John McCain would tax you $210.42 MORE than Barack Obama - Matt Hamilton
I could post a website that says if you elect Obama you'll sprout angel wings and crap gold nuggets; but it wouldn't be true. - Robert Hafer
But... But... I like angel wings and gold nuggets :-( - Vincent Ferrari
@Tina, keep it honest. Things are not as good right now than in recent past, but we are not in an actual recession which is 2 quarters of negative growth. We have not had that yet. I am not a huge Bush fan and don't like McCain as one of our choices, but still. As a matter of fact, I am not happy one bit with either choice this year. Also, check this out. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080828... - Eban Crawford
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $810.06
John McCain would tax you $545.27 MORE than Barack Obama. - zoblue (Zulema)
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $486.21
John McCain would draft your ass into his ninth consectutive war this week. - (teh)Kenny
@Eban: while the definition of 2 quarters of negative growth sounds reasonable, it means that a quarter with a significant loss followed by a quarter with tiny gain rinse & repeat doesn't "qualify" as a recession when in fact the economy is on a downward trend. More to the point, it still feels like a recession to the consumer, and if it feels that way they're going to react as if it is, whether the 'definition' applies or not. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Doesn't anyone else find it interesting that only one person here isn't getting a cut? I find that highly improbable just on a statistical basis alone. - Vincent Ferrari
@tina and eban: Like that time bush claimed we gained jobs when we didn't make enough to even cover the amount of people entering the workforce that quarter let alone the jobs we lost over the past... waht was it? six quarters? - (teh)Kenny
Clinton flatlined the economy for the first 18 months of his reign. The republican congress is responsible for the growth for most of the rest of his presidency, and then Clinton left us with a recession. - Dave Roth
My argument is just basic definitions and is not in defense of or against any political figure. My point is, by definition, we are not in a recession. Close, but not there. It hurts an argument when it is based on easily refutable facts. And last I checked, times "feeling" hard fails as a solid definition. Try bringing up feeling arguments between people of faith against skeptics. Same thing here. - Eban Crawford
Just a general comment about taxes, but I do hope we'll move to a fixed tax rate and be done with it. Not sure if it'll even happen, but not having to worry about income brackets and deductions and arcane rules and loopholes would make it so much easier on us. New Zealand's tax law would be a good model to emulate. You fill out a single sheet and you're done. - Raoul Pop
Oh, btw, my tax cut would also be $980. Isn't it just a bit weird that we are sort of admitting our salaries here? ;-) - Eban Crawford
Your Obama Tax Cut is: $3,526.76. I'm assuming my McCain tax cut would be higher because it doesn't say anything. - Alan Le
Eban I understand you're giving the definitions, and my gripe isn't with you it's with the definition itself. And when it comes to consumer spending on wants versus needs, I think times 'feeling' hard really does come into play. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
@Dave: interesting point about the first 18 months of Clinton's administration. How does that play out with the argument I often hear that all the economic gains of his whole first term were directly due to Bush Sr.? - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I call BS on this thing. All the ratings I've seen show Obama raising taxes on the upper-middle class and wealthy which would show my taxes going slightly up. This thing shows me getting a $6,800 tax cut which I find completely unbelievable. So there it is, I'm laying down the B.S. (or MATH = FAIL) card - Chad Myers
The biggest problem with economics an politics it that policies/laws/tax rates take a while to work through the system and show results; so one admin can be left with a mess or ride the good econ of the previos admin - Robert Hafer
Our current econmics woes stem from the idea that owning a home is a right and not a privalage. - Robert Hafer

Ask the artists who receive no money for the file sharing if it's okay. - Akiva Moskovitz
I'm as against the heavy-handed crap the RIAA keeps pulling as the next guy, but that's an absolutely idiotic graphic. If the artist isn't getting paid, you've stolen from the artist whether or not someone else is missing their copy. - Vincent Ferrari
the Radiohead model shows that it can work. It mostly affects the middle man. - Alan Le
<rant>Some proportion (maybe high) of people who share files would never have bought them in the first place -> file sharing is good for the artist because someone may decide they quite like this artist and buy stuff / go to a show at a later date. Music is about the statistical return of an annuity, not the retail sale of a single unit.</rant> - Alex Gawley
@Akiva I'd be more than happy to buy a CD in a store for $20 if I thought the artist was getting even a majority of that money, but we both know they aren't. In fact, I gladly paid Radiohead that same $20 when I bought the album from their website. I don't want to steal from artists, but if its a choice between downloading a song off the internet and having the artist get ripped off or going to the store and getting ripped off myself by the music industry, my choice isn't that hard. - Aaron Krug
So your disgust with the music industry excuses you making sure the artists get less than they already get. Makes sense to me. - Akiva Moskovitz
Yes, the artists appear to be starving, Akiva. Let me state that I am pro-payment to the original artist, but my impression would be there is far too much money in this scene anyway. The money is in the "middle-men". - ChangeForge via twhirl
I'd like to see you take that philosophy into a local record store and go ahead and physically shoplift some CDs. You know, to really prove your dedication to the artist. - Akiva Moskovitz
Excellent illustration. I hate how people perpetuate the myth that piracy and theft are one and the same. I'm not saying what's wrong or right - just that they aren't the same thing. - trextor
Vincent: If Bob pirates a song, the artist isn't getting paid. If Bob doesn't pirate the song, the artist still isn't getting paid. If Bob watches the video for the song on his DVR 250 times in a row, the artist isn't getting paid. If Bob decides to buy a song from the artist's competition, the artist isn't getting paid. Seems to me that whether or not the artist gets paid is at best a secondary consideration when trying to identify the theft/not-theft of a situation. - Roger Benningfield
Good video to watch. It shows the interaction that the screenshots shown awhile ago didn't show. I love their styles and overall design. - Alan Le via Bookmarklet
WorldTV.com is impressive. They plan to be the video aggregator of choice but have a ways to go. Still, very nice. http://worldtv.com/paitv - paisano via twhirl

http://pixelpipe.com - a way to send media files to a number different services with one click (say you want to send a pic to friendfeed and save a copy on Flickr as well) - Frederic
technologically cool, but wouldn't that create a dupe post and add noise if you already feed flickr to friendfeed? - Alan Le
that's true - you have to pick your service carefully - I use it to send a picture to ff, store a copy on picasaweb, and one more on my own FTP server - Frederic
