0. The girls' feet are likely dangling and not in contact with the bus floor. All cats are contained inside backpacks, also not in contact with the bus floor. Or you could literally mean -on- the bus, like outside it, on top, which would also be a 0. Otherwise, "all of them" is my answer. ;)

Defiately, but its a major departure from Apple's mindset. IF they do change it, its going to be quite clear that Apple will offer no support on any hardwaare other than thier own. They are not going to try and support a gazillion different hardware combinations.

I think that we are going to see the Nano with built in wifi. I agree with others that we will see a camera in the Nano, my thoughts are what good is the camera if you cant share your pics on the fly? If Jobs focuses on one thing it is making things great. Being able to take a picture is nice but having to dock the iPod to get it off is lame. Give me wifi, share pictures, sync w/ iTunes. All goodness..

Matt: Wireless syncing has never been part of the iTunes feature list. The Zune had it years ago and everyone raved about it. I don't think that will be included. But wi-Fi for sharing directly to the web would be great for the Nano or for the Classics.

Check out this post from MG Siegler on Apple's eventual move to iTunes in the cloud. http://bit.ly/54cdP Its an interesting read and when I see this paired with wifi on the Nano, I think wireless sync, wireless streaming. Putting your iTunes in the cloud opens a lot of options.

Cristo, screen sharing (one presenter at a time) + voice. The big failing point in this setup is the quality of most speakerphones. Everyone on the bridge can hear each other just fine, and everyone in the room can hear each other just fine. The room can usually hear the bridge, but the bridge often has a hard time hearing the room. Net result is that most people on the call drop off when any presentation portion is over and discussion begins.

After experienceing my first ffundercats episode a couple weeks bakc, I was very impressed with ustream, which is free. and you can password-protect it, and not just anyone can watch. There are instructions about getting other voices onto the feed - I believe they involve Skype.

My experience is that "live streaming" sites like justin,tv and ustream have much lower quality than web conferencing tools. If we decide to do this (we may not, it's a bit of a hassle) we'll probably end up using dimdim.com. If we decided that having an 800 number for call-in was important, then I'd go with gotomeeting or webex

Yes, I use webex daily for work. I'd say it is fairly reliable, except when it isn't! Seems like the few days right after a big update always brings some instability until they get the bugs out.

I would use mikogo.com and talkyoo.net together. Free and easy and very professional. talkyoo allows international telefon conferences (7 countrys + skype) at fixed line prices (near 0 for most people ;-)) Mikogo is a free Desktop sharing software. Very powerfull and easy to use.

Yeah After what google just did with thier million strong e-book library, ASUS is gonna want to support as many formats as possible. Yeah, Same here. Wifi would be very nice. 3G obviously brings with it a data contract with a service provider ( doubtless with some revenue sharing with ASUS). If I wanna surf, i have my iPhone.

Problem in full. Son A has Xbox 360 that originally didnt have online capability. Son B has been playing on this Xbox 360 for some time, but using son A's profile/tag whatever. Now it is son B's birthday, and I buy a wireless network adaptor and an Xbox 360 membership card. Now problem. Son A has an online profile (silver) that he uses on PC and...
uses it for online stuff such as MSN/Live chat. Can I migrate the saves over for son B or am I stuffed. Dont want to upgrade the profile on the Xbox 360 as then son B would be getting all of son A's older friends trying to MSN/Live chat him with stuff. Anyone have any idea how I can sort this?

OK, this should answer your questions...Every item downloaded from Live is given two unlimited-use licenses when purchased. Free items such as the media update are still "purchased" they just have a sale price of zero dollars. Those two licenses are split between the ORIGINAL downloading console (it gets one) and the purchasing Live profile (it gets one). The original console can play...

[cont.] Friends lists and achievements follow the userid wherever it logs in. For saves, move them via the dash to a memcard, and then move them from the memcard into the new 360.

The original purchasing profile/user will still have access anywhere on any 360 that exists, but whoever wasn't the purchasing user will want the console license on their machine, or they'll be stuck going to the other one to view that content.

If you don't have downloaded content to transfer, you shouldn't have any problems. If you do, ideally only one son was the purchaser, and you'll be able to move the console license to the OTHER son's console, so they can both easily consume it (one via console license, the other via purchasing-profile license).

But would any of them lose any saves? It's the saves that I am really concerned about. Son B has played 3 major games and has achievements in all of them, but obviously are now associated on Son A's account (meatclown)

Yeah, the line "First, it is key you understand how gamer profiles and save games work. Every save game is associated with ONE AND ONLY ONE profile." makes it clear that we cant move the saves to a different profile, so it looks like son B has to start all of his games from scratch in his new profile.

Or, if I'm reading right, you can still copy saves into a new profile, but that new profile won't be able to earn any achievements using those saves. Which may not matter to your son, I don't know. I guess I was under the impression there were two profiles on the original 360, one for each of your sons.

I think that most of these old people are already off their meds... where do they think Medicare comes from? And how many of them can actually afford the supplemental private insurance for things that Medicare doesn't cover (I know it's a burden on my mom and step-father because that stuff is super expensive since it only covers a pool of people who have lots of medical problems already). I don't get their argument at all.

That would be a pretty potent app. I wonder if Google's PubSubHubbub wouldn't be a key part of an alternative to the FriendFeed stream in Google Reader itself? I am probably mashing up tools which don't really fit together but I did read that there is a beta version of Google Reader in the wings which takes advantage of tools like PubSubHubbub to collect content in almost realtime.

Facebook obviously liked FriendFeed a long time ago. Why would they have copied so many features (feed item comments and the "Like" action, to name a couple) otherwise? Just like Twitter acquired Rael Dornfest and his awesome web services, Stikkit and I Want Sandy vanished (and so did he), Facebook will acquire all the talent from Friendfeed, shut this service down and Facebook will continue to suck.

Nicholas: The upside for Facebook is they just bought an engineering team that's built many of the feature's Facebook's going to need to stay competitive. The upside for FriendFeed's engineering team is $$$ and the ability to build system for a wider audience. FriendFeed's user base is small enough that it'll either get absorbed into Facebook or move on, and FF will become a footnote on the Internet timeline.

trouble is (from my perspective), that the philosophies of the two platforms are at odds. FB wants to bring people to the site and keep them there, while FF is a hub, bringing people in and then sending them back out. (That's part of why it's hard for the newcomer to understand, IMHO.)

Wow, I was beginning to use Friendfeed as my defacto social site...Facebook is more for real life friends. They'll just take what makes Friendfeed great, add it to Facebook and slowly kill this site.

Awful news for users but congratulations to you guys. Ideally, FB will run FF as a distinct service but I'm not hopeful. I don't want the diversity and noise that facebook brings - people doing quizzes on which movie star they resemble and playing silly games. I also wanted to keep my day to day social activity distinct from the targeted information and discussion I use FF for.

i guess congrats are in order, but I'm going to now go and remove everything I have that feeds into FF, and I have to ask -- do I have any rights over my archive? I have a private feed, and I have no interest in offering up my lifestream to the FaceBook data-miners. While I'm happy for the FF team, since I guess this is what they wanted (congrats guys!), I can't help but think this is the beginning of the end for a great service and a vibrant community. There are reasons I don't spend any time on Facebook and do spend lots of time on FF, and some kind of "FF integrated into Facebook" just won't cut it. I hope this service will live on for at least a few more years.

Thomas Power still believes that Facebook/FF/Linkedin (2010) will be acquired by Apple (2011) and this is a transitional acquisition in the SN market cycle. The world is shifting to Mac, iTunes, iPhones and FB own the next generation. Apple have $29bn of cash on deposit price is not an issue. Just finished setting up my lifestream.fm at http://lifestream.fm/dfaulkner. Lifestream does what it says, and no more. FF's search blows lifestream away. FF is more flexible about adding source feeds, but lifestream does fine without the flexibility I suppose. FF still wins, or would, if I thought it would be sticking around. :P

I also hate facebook, not because of their silly quizzes and pokes, but because I suspect they would like to maintain massive user base as the determining factor in choosing a social network. I would love to switch to orkut as I use so many other google services, but I can't because nobody else does. That should not be my criteria.... As I recall, the FriendFeed TOS did indicate deletion, much like most of Google's TOSs. However, Facebook does not delete, it only de-activates. During the transition period, I think it would be wise to do what you need to do with your data with the end in mind, while keeping an eye on any TOS changes.

Facebook puts forth the appearance of a safe haven for you and your friends, but it has shown a definite propensity for pushing the bounds of what is acceptable in how it uses your information. Twitter is a broadcast to the world, what could go wrong with that? Well, unless you have a private feed.

because FB recently pulled that fast one with ToS. Their claim to own everything I upload to them is abhorrent. And, face it, most people don't read through the entire ToS every time a change is made. FB has a battery of lawyers. Most avg Americans don't and can't understand contract boilerplate. I need to trust that a company isn't out for more than fair exchange for the service they're offering me.

Logical Extreme, Johnny, Facebook puts *every* ToS change to a user vote before the change takes place. Twitter doesn't even have a ToS right now, and where they do I don't see anyone having the right to vote. Facebook also does anything you tell it to - don't want it to use your information? My problem isn't with FriendFeed itself going anywhere. The problem is that Facebook's the one in charge, and you have no idea what they'll do or not do. And in particular, they like to use users and their data in ways most don't really appreciate (assuming the bulk of typical FB users even notice). My problem is with Facebook. I don't want to be a part of Facebook in any fashion. That unfortunately means FF--as I've known it, anyway--is basically over.

The great thing about Facebook used to be what it required, namely a signed up college's email account. I wish they still required it.

Facebook is trying to pretend to be what it was in a closed community whilst opening itself and users up to a bunch of garbage. The trail of decisions FB has made in the last three years is what makes me expect the worse for FFeed now.

This is the single biggest reason I don't use Facebook more. They demand too much personal information, including your activities, hopes, dreams, and social graph that distinguishes types of friends, fans-of, etc., and then wants to push all boundaries to maximize its commercialization of all of that very personal and forever-unchangeable information.
