How to get scientists to adopt web 2.0 technologies - http://network.nature.com/blogs...
This is what we are trying to do at http://www.AcademiaConnect.org, providing a Scholar Directory, Open Access repositories, and research sharing forums for all disciplines. At the very least, it would be a good idea to create a global scholar directory where you can type in a few keywords and bring up everyone who is doing research in an area you are interested in. - AcademiaConnect.org
The problem is that any number of people/orgs are trying to do this, AcademiaConnect. The answer has to be federation, because a single centralized store is just not on the table here. - D0r0th34

Does sharing information transform Researchers? - http://researchremix.wordpress.com/2008...
My hypothesis is that it will transform research, if only we can get enough people to try it... I hadn't really thought about the mechanism in terms of effects on individual researchers. - Bill Hooker
