"I just want to say that I disagree with your comment here. I can't imagine it was well intentioned, though I'm open to correction. Your essential position of "learn to do drugs" is nullified by the harsh tone of someone who doesn't really understand."

"I think the fans are just eager to see their e-sport portrayed in the best light with a high quality production. Tribescast is great, but good competition should improve the standard for everyone."

"Would be cool if the "main" stream mixed in Kiwi's stream w/ team speak as one of their sources... like cutting to the in-car cam/mic in formula 1 or rally."

"I was about to react with "that makes no sense at all", because real-life motion is essentially infinite fps... how can 24 be closer to infinity than 48? But thinking about it more I doubt it's that simple, so I'm curious, can you expand on your hypothesis?"

"Ah, it's easy. I just made http://www.reddit.com/r/ppi/ and made you the only moderator. Anyone can post so it's low maintenance. Use it or not, I don't mind. Thing about reddit is the threaded discussion makes it slightly easier to discuss things imho. Best of luck anyways :)"

"Still, the experiment indicates of a property of the universe. It seems to map nicely as a metaphor for certain aspects of consciousness, something like the idea of a flowing stream might."

"Yeah. That's a large source of confusion in pop spirituality :/ So many people think the "observer" in that experiment is the same as "conscious observer". It's just a measurement."

"The model I got was the 2.5ghz 4gb radeon model, the reason being I wanted the better graphics card in order to play a few games. I think the discrete graphics is a big part of the extra price on the 2.5ghz model. I'd be fairly confident that the 2.3ghz 2gb intel model would play 1080p smoothly through plex. The integrated graphics should be capable of accelerating the decoding, and the i5 is a fairly powerful chip. If you're just using plex 2gb ram should be fine, but if you're using it as a desktop too I'd get at least 4gb. Keep in mind RAM is much cheaper from a third party and is trivial to install on the new minis."

acous on I am having trouble properly connecting an xbox controller through boot camp, I could really use a hand. I've spent three days googling. I just want to play Skyrim. (Not sure if it's the right subreddit sorry) - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"Unfortunately the USB lead doesn't carry any data, it's just for charging :( I ran into the same issue, seems stupid that they didn't enable data on it and worse that they don't make it clear in any documentation. You'll need either a wired remote or the wireless 360 base station thing for windows. If you have either of those it should just work without any drivers."

"I set up a G4 mac mini over the weekend as a little "server". Here's what it's doing: * Sharing my non-wireless printer * Running Airfoil speakers to make it an airplay audio target * An SSH server with "brew" for playing with unix stuff * A web server for messing around with * A bunch of piracy related things. pm if curious ;) If it had more hard drives I would also get it ready for ZFS so I could have an error resistant file store. I'm a bit of a geek though, these things aren't for everyone :)"

"I don't use it as my main setup, but I have an '11 mini hooked up to my tv. It works well, but you might want to play around with your tv settings to get an ideal picture. Some 720p tv's have a native res of 1366x768 yet don't accept that format over hdmi, in which case text would be a little blurry. Most tv's default to a heavily processed picture with sharpening, colour boosting, motion smoothing, cropping/scaling etc. You'd want to disable all that to get a low lag, pc-like picture. If the TV has a "game mode" you might want to enable that as TV response times, IIRC, seem to go from about 10ms-100ms, compared to computer monitors which can be as low as 2ms. It's not a huge deal but disabling all the processing should give you a more satisfying experience. For watching media stuff, Plex is fantastic and has a great interface for operating from a distance using the apple remote. Can't speak to the netflix/hulu integration, but it supports all my local (ireland) streaming services and..."

"Do you have "automatically re-arrange spaces" enabled in system prefs -> mission control? It might just be re-arranging the assigned desktops rather than failing to assign them."

"From what I know, the primary benefit of SSD is extremely low latency random access. Throughput is also greater, but the low latency alone should give an increase in speed, even on the old interface."

"It's been a while since I played it, but do you remember if there were any discontinuous scenes/chapters? Like if you made screencaps through the whole world would you end up with one continuous circular map?"
