The trail to Mount Lola is pretty good. It gains 2,600 feet (while losing about 100 feet at the stat), and it is 5 miles one way

The trail is in second growth forest. Evidence of the intense logging that happened in this area is everywhere

The road is on the Sierra Crest so it affords fantastic views to both the East and the West side. In the picture is Mammoth Mountain, site of the Mammoth Lakes ski resort.

After 2.5mi, we arrived to the end of the trail just above deadman pass. A use trail continues from this point to Deadman Pass, Two Teats, and San Joaquin Mountain
