"I've had positive experiences with limited application of blogroll linking - obviously, techniques lacking tact are going to be caught and punished. It's just like all SEO efforts ... do it piece-meal and intelligently using varying techniques."

"I use bit.ly for my own URL shortening purposes ... with the recent surge (nay, crescendo) in Twitter traffic, it's not surprising to see such a tremendous increase in bit.ly traffic over the past few months. I can't imagine OpenDNS will have them blocked for much longer. I love the OpenDNS - the "open hierarchy" concept seems like it can/should be applied virtually everywhere. What other advantages are there to it?"

"I've yet to setup a feedburner account, but I think it might be a good choice for my brand of companies once we establish a stronger blogging presence on the web. I'm glad to hear that Blogcatalog isn't trying to implement commenting from within their own site - there are already too many mediums that splinter conversations across the web. I'd love to see standardization in how we communicate, since the various RSS/feed aggregating sites are ways to mitigate the problem of having multiple sites that do virtually the exact same thing. Open source, portable solutions for all!"

"Once Disqus is optimized for SEO, I wouldn't mind using it on any website. I think it's a great concept, much like Gravatar - there are universal tasks/things about the way we interact with the internet that is just duplication ... centralization of these tasks is necessary and inevitable. Disqus has an interesting opportunity to capitalize in this area if they do so right now. Information indexing is at a strange crossroads, indeed."

45+ Stunning Tutorials, Inspirations And Resources For Designers To Discover The Best Of The Web In May @ SmashingApps - http://www.smashingapps.com/2009...
"Web design is incredibly objective. Here's my (pseudo) theory: developers and designers are more likely to get tired of "pre web 2.0" designs than typical internet users. Why? Because they look at it all day. Many years ago, I had a neighbor with an amazing garden ... to everyone but her, it looked phenomenal - almost to the point of clutter. Over the years, she continued to add onto it, constantly piling in new avenues, and it continued to get more and more cluttered. People always asked, "she's doing too much, it's just cluttered now," but from the gardener's perspective, she was just adding improvements upon something she had started to perceive as plain. It's always best to step back and gain perspective. Anyways, they don't build a new one because they don't need to ... it's not like there's a bunch of fledgling airlines who can use "better website" as a business model to try and enter the market. They don't have to, so they don't."

"This list is remarkable ... it single handedly includes some of the best software on the net. 3/4ths of these, I used; the other 1/4, I will now start. Most interesting suggestion - DropBox ... I see many avenues pushing towards to this sort of concept (Picasa web albums have a somewhat similar idea w/ their DropBox)."

"With so many ideas already in development out there, it seems like newer breeds of entrepreneurs are cropping up that don't necessarily create 100% new ideas, but take traditional models and improve on them. Idea-preneuers!"
