Publisher of TidBITS and Take Control Books
And no less impressive is Ted Landau's new "Take Control of iPhone OS 3," which is completely up to date! http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/iphone...
Props to @jeffcarlson on his first Take Control ebook: "Take Control of Your iPhone Apps" - it's a great one! http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/iphone-...
New Ebooks about the iPhone and iPod touch - http://db.tidbits.com/article...
Off to reheat some amazing pulled pork and make a mocha-nut pudding cake to share with our fencing carpool friends
@jeffcarlson Foursquare was awesome - you could really hammer the ball into someone else's square on the playground.
Google Docs is putting gremlins in place of some spaces again... I thought it had grown out of that bad habit.
@siegel We've been doing that for years, but, amusingly, because he's playing Beethoven or Bach too loudly. And then there's the humming....
@guodoman That's the big win of the Cornell bus.... There may be outlets on board too, somewhere.
@kdawson Very low, I'd say, given the recent releases
@SharonZardetto The real problem is when you google for an answer and realize that you did indeed have it.
Fix 10.6.2's Broken Slide Show Screen Saver - http://db.tidbits.com/article...
@judsondunn Hey, thanks! Wrote up a short article about this - it works fine here.

Sesame Street Google logo today: http://www.google.com/ I'd love to see Chariots of Fur again. Or Monsterpiece Theatre with Alistair Cookie.
@mdeatherage Tree trimmers mate? ;-)
@ceolaf Glad to hear they're letting you go home, and that there was no actual heart attack. Need some dried kiwis for recovery?
@SharonZardetto Yeah, I hate the Netflix pop-unders, especially since they should know I'm already a subscriber
Looks like @SupaSync is working; claims to offer better link and photo publishing from Twitter to Facebook, plus filtering of @ replies.
@ccoc I can't see Apple doing advertising - it's not in their DNA.
In theory, I've gotten @SupaSync configured on Facebook to post my tweets to Facebook. We'll see if this shows up.
@ceolaf Whoa - sorry to hear about the heart thing! Hope it wasn't from dressing as the Tin Woodman for Halloween. Feel better!
Looks like 10.6.2's screen saver is extremely slow to walk the contents of a folder (or iPhoto) containing more than a few thousand images.
Also seeing reports of the 10.6.2 screen saver hanging on JPEGs with bad EXIF data...
Is anyone seeing hangs with the 10.6.2 screensaver when pointed at a folder of images? I've seen it twice - trying to reproduce generally.
Oh great, I hate it when Apple ships an OS upgrade on a Monday afternoon. 10.6.2 is out, downloading now....
@chuckgoolsbee I blame Steve Jobs personally for Monday afternoon releases - he just likes to tweak TidBITS. :-)
@tedlandau TidBITS was faster than MacWEEK by a long shot starting in 1990, since we didn't have to print and mail. :-)
