"Pizza - Mellow Mushroom Indian - Memories of India (on turkey lake) Best BBQ - Never been there, but everyone says 4 Rivers. I like Yellow Dog Eats too for their BBQ Sandwiches. Wekiwa Springs up in Altamonte/Apopka is probably the most popular springz in the Orlando area. Blue Springs is popular too, and you can see manatees there during some seasons. Looks like some other recommendations in this thread that would be less big/crowded. Both have trails and canoeing too. Other awesome places - Some food truck event for sure. Yellow Dogs Eats in Gotha for the atmosphere. Ravenous Pig for amazing food. The Chefs Table in Winter Garden is amazing - prix fixe menu by a chef that used to be the head of some of Disneys top restaurants (probably my favorite place in Orlando). Dessert - The Dessert Lady downtown or Jerimiahs Italian Ice (their gelati's are awesome)." - Adam Fortuna

Dyogenez on I'm 22 and looking to start a Roth IRA. I have a few questions. - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"If you put, say 5,000 into a personal investment account, each year you'll be paying some amount in taxes from dividends (whether they are qualified or unqualified dividends will determine just how much in taxes). If you go with a stock that has no dividends you won't pay anything each year, but you'll pay taxes based on your gains when you sell. (think it's 15% of your gains if you hold the investment more than one year, or 35% if you hold the investment under 1 year). With a Roth IRA there are no taxes whatsoever. You won't be taxed on dividends and you won't be taxed when you sell. This means you'll be able to hold onto much much more of your money (at least 15% more -- but over time much much more due to taxes on dividends) if you use a Roth IRA." - Adam Fortuna

Dyogenez on Food Trucks! - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"Every Tuesday food trucks get together at Lake Lily for a food truck pod. Every Wednesday they get together in the parking lot behind Club Firestone downtown as well -- usually with live music and alcohol on sale from Firestone. Lots of good options there, but I love the Korean Taco Box truck myself. Big Wheel has very interesting sounding items too, but usually don't end up full after eating there unless I want to spend $20 (while a $7 meal at Taco Box will fill me up). Big Wheel is "Food Truck Gourmet", so you pay for what you get." - Adam Fortuna

"I'd agree on the Macbook Pro comment. For years I was custom building my own PC desktops, and spending a consistant amount upgrading it when new things came out just because I wanted to have a good system. If you can just buy a setup and have the willpower to not upgrade it, and you don't need a mac, it's definitely going to be cheaper to go the PC route. But if you're an upgrade junkie wanting a system that'll last a while, a non-MS programmer, or favor macs it's definitely worth it. I've had my macbook pro for 4 years now and use it for work 8 hours a day wherever I am, or for general fooling around at home, and it's working great and still worth $800 if I wanted to sell it on Ebay. More than anything else though, it got me out of the "upgrade" loop I was on where I always wanted better gear when it came out. It's possible to get into this loop with mac laptops as well, which is the worst of both worlds." - Adam Fortuna

Dyogenez on Not trying to circlejerk, I know nothing of version control systems. But I keep hearing about how fast GIT is or how awesome its features are, why doesn't everybody just use it? - http://www.reddit.com/r...
"Learning curve is a big one. The only reliable tool for handling git is the command line, which also steers away a large batch of people who are used to Eclipse/OS integration. Hard to justify a steep learning curve of months (or even years), to fix a problem that's not broken at an organization. If you've used git and go to a place using a centralized VC system though, I imagine you'd feel a lot more restricted. Coming from a centralized system it's hard to see the draw of how it can be more useful." - Adam Fortuna

"I'm pretty sure it would be appraised, and either be sold up split up and given to one of the heirs as that cash value. They'd probably have the opportunity to buy it at market price as well, and pass that money onto the creditors. If they absolutely want something, and the creditors can get the most money by them buying it, they'd probably go that route." - Adam Fortuna

"Ah yeah there is something like that in the Ruby world which has taken hold in the past year. It's called Bundler ( http://github.com/carlhud... ) and basically does the same thing as maven for managing dependencies. Can specify specific versions for an app, and it'll bundler them in a place specific to each app without using whatever is installed by default on the system." - Adam Fortuna

"Everyone loves making favorite lists. I'll chime in a few of the same, and a few others: **Favorite movies:** * Spirited Away - Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli, only of the only animes to win an Oscar for by animated film, highest rated anime on IMDB, and a good one for any age. * Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind - Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli, very ambitious and in depth story set in a dystopian future. * Grave of the Fireflies - Studio Ghibli, After WW2 in Japan. As mentioned, watch as a 2 part with something happy, like My Neigbour Totoro. * Perfect Blue - Satoshi Kon, great but really creepy. Seen in compared to Hitchcock. * Paprika - Satoshi Kon again, crazy again. Ability to enter peoples Dreams in the future. (for therapy reasons, rather than of the inception kind). **Favorite Series** * Berserk - 25 episodes, medieval swordsman with lots of political intrigue, great characters * Initial D - 4 seasons, racing anime. I didn't have any interest in cars, or even have one, and I loved this one...." - Adam Fortuna
