Facebook to Push “Useful” Applications with “Apps You May Like” - http://mashable.com/2008...
yet another reason why Facebook is becoming (for me, at least) little more than a Rolodex with built-in messaging, and even then, I rely on Digsby for notifications... Adding "features" like this do little to give me any incentive to visit the site itself, let alone spend time there. - Andrew Terry
I still don’t see this helping small apps that are just starting out or that are popular within a niche. You’d still need to have a fair amount of traction already to benefit from this. - Jon Dillon
Erm.. Who still logins to Facebook and checks it thrice a day? Probably only once a week for me. Not much value I can derive from it. Definitely not as much as Twitter or FF.. - Winston Teo
A lot of my friends have started using Facebook Chat to message me. I really do see FB becoming a web OS. As opposed to Twitter, my Facebook friends are mostly people that I've met in "real life"... more than any other social network... and it is the same for most college students. Anyway, because of that, Facebook has inherent value for me, and them. - Rex Pechler
@Rex Pechler: so do you see FB becoming more of a communication tool with your friends. I didn't quite understand your point about the web OS. - Davide D'Incau
