Impressed that you hand-coded the capturing, I wouldn't know where to start
- Joe Dawson
from iPhone
We're honored to be your first guinea pig for the screencasting :) You should do this often.
- Ethan Gahng
greta video - got straight to the point :)
- Riaz Kanani
Hi Louis Thanks for the heads up about Lazyfeed. I have tried to register but it needs an invitation code. Can you or anyone in your network please let me know what I should put in? Thanks
- Jane Finch
Very well done, I now have a better understanding of how it works. Anymore invites? Thanks
- Mo Hall
why doesn't Lazyfeed have a feed for FF?
- Thomas Power
Thomas, Lazyfeed's founders are just now getting to understand FriendFeed better. Maybe with time.
- Louis Gray
LazyFeed looks great.! Thanks for this video Louis, super interesting (I like your fast pace too). Would love an invite if you have 1.
- Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Hi, thanks everyone for your interest in Lazyfeed. We are excited to tell you that we will be releasing more invite codes via Twitter today. To receive your invite, please follow @lazyfeed on twitter and we will DM you an invite code. This invitation will expire midnight PST. Thank you!
- Lazyfeed
I will have to check this out. I admit that the point of it was not immediately obvious the first few times I used it.
- Bill Kinney
Louis, thanks for this wonderful quick tutorial. I am off to experimenting with Lazyfeed now. I wonder how you use it in conjunction with GReader, since I also find you sharing lot of stuff on GReader as well.
- Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Awesome demo, finally got a chance to watch it.
- Bill Kinney
Love lazyfeed so far, but it won't connect with my Twitter acct even after I set up and click connect - only Flicr, etc..Anyone else have this issue.
- Liza
Liza - I've just tried connecting your twitter to my lazyfeed and it seems to be successfully bringing tags like lazyweb, trip, techkaraoke, etc. Please try again. Thanks.
- Ethan Gahng
Now that is GREAT customer service, Ethan. Thanks.. I want to learn more about lazyweb and ppl interacting from lazyfeed. Seeing it from my google dev friends. Any ideas?
- Liza
Very nice video here. I will use this to share with all my people. Thanks Louis.
- Amani
Alright, for some reason this reminds me of the phone call I had with my mother Sunday, when we both started talking in really crappy Sean Connery accents. Fabuloush!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
If it's a school picture, you KNOW it's Olan Mills! At least, that's the way it was around here. Those folks had a lock on the uncomfortably posed photo market.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
uncomfortable pose? looks pretty comfortable to me lol :P
- Rob Sellen :o)
I still haven't met a FF application I could stand to use for more than a few minutes.
- Craig Eddy
I saw an early alpha of the iPhone app. Looked good. I also saw an early alpha of Seesmic web and the way it advanced between the alpha and launch was dramatic - so I expect the iPhone client will track the same way.
- Steve Rubel
from email
Robert that's really great. I definitely will consider switching back when the Seesmic iPhone app arrives.
- Vinko
Will get me,too, switched back to using Seesmic ;) Looking forward to hear from Loic soon
- Ali BULUT
I interpret this as a strong sign favorable towards Friendfeed
- lelapin
This might just tempt me away from Tweetdeck...
- Andrew Terry
If they add friendfeed to the web app, I'll maybe use it instead of PeopleBrowsr. But then again, peoplebrowsr has implemented friendfeed in a very good way already.
- Svartling
You gotta keep an eye on Yahoo homepage. They have FB integration and someday may integrate Twitter (they have the 'what are you doing now'). Seesmic is way ahead, but Yahoo has mainstream adoption
- Jeremiah Owyang
Jeremiah, I agree. The new Yahoo homepage is impressive.
- Steve Rubel
from email
Im not sure it's impressive, as it's evolutionary, not revolutionary. When Wave comes out, it could dash the shine that Yahoo has.
- Jeremiah Owyang
Where do I sign up! I'm praying your web app will make my life of FF, FB, Twitter ETC more manageable!!!!! W/out crashing my puters AND still let me see my Home feeds!
- Arleen Anderson
I'm thinking that this is the type of post that would be good reason for FriendFeed to have a "Love" click option next to the "Like" click option so that we can register better levels of our emotion towards news we read in others' streams!
- Chris Aldrich
The The illustrations for the top 3 category leaders are provided by Happy Worker, a creative agency that makes custom action figures and custom toys. http://www.happyworker.com/
- Louis Gray
Glad to see Hutch, Pirillo and Louis on there too!
- Mo Kargas
Again, liked for the artist's renditions.
- Micah Wittman
Think Scoble should immediately adopt this as his avatar. Pretty neat list (also not a bad marketing vehicle if people use the badge :)
- Charlie Anzman
Can't wait to see this one...clicking on Amazon NOW (thanks for the reminder) Congrats Tamar!
- mark ivey
O'Reilly sent me a review copy a week or so ago. Terrific read thus far. She is the first of the "social media" authors I've read (and that's almost all of them) who actually knew and mentioned that "social media marketing" has its roots in "social media optimization", a term coined by Rohit Bhargava. If I remember, Jason Falls had a lot of good things to say about the book as well.
- Gregg Morris
Boss and I have been plagued by work issues this week. Turns out all of them can be traced in one way or another to the server that died. I hate you Server2. I'm glad your hard drive transplant didn't happen this week: maybe by next week your processor will give out and we'll just have to replace you altogether... I want my cookie now.
Don't you just hate it when work interrupts your day like that...
- MVB (Grinch of FF)
bummer! hope things get resolved without too much more hassle
- Adam Sherk
Thank you for the virtual cookie, WoH. I plan on running past the cookie place on the way home, though: virtual just isn't going to cut it today. However, I've got 45 minutes or less until the weekend starts, so that's something!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Tina, for tips on dealing appropriately with this situation, I suggest you research the antics of the Bastard Operator From Hell. His earlier (and funnier) stories are here: http://bofh.ntk.net/Bastard...
- Slappy Line
"Well, let's see, you have 4 Meg available" ... Dear babby jebus do I remember those days. Now I want a cookie and a beer!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Hehe. I loved the BOFH. Well, up until 2000 when he lost his edge, lol
- Slappy Line

my bro's lady friend is preggers, we're expecting any moment! Uncle SHawn! I don't get along with kids so I hope he (a boy yup) can adjust
- sofarsoShawn
Good luck with his adjustment, Shawn. :)
- Louis Gray
I hope it will allow for use of a pen/pointing device. Not just finger painting.
- Andrew Smith
I wonder if the alternative October date we've heard about is when an announcement of the Apple Tablet would be made. This would give a chance for pre-sales and possibly launch an App program for the device along with a simulator or SDK. Apple's taken quite awhile to work on the Tablet so it seems like these would be ready sooner than later, but then again, maybe Apple will take it slowly like they did with the iPhone. We'll have to see.
- Loren Heiny
I'm excited about a product like this. My iPod Touch is great for casual viewing but I want something with a bigger screen. My wife is excited she can play Mafia Wars (Facebook variety) from the comfort of the couch as well :-)
- Lenny Post
Pfft Easy, Yahoo Sunnyvale. Used to work there :)
- Jorge Escobar
I'm with Sean Apple Store in Cupertino :-P Nicest Apple store Ive been to. Sent my wife a T-Shirt and stickers!! Stickers! they must have known her so well.
- Rasmus Lauridsen
Hah, neither...That's Apple HQ in Cupertino
- Alex Scoble
Of course it's the Apple Campus. It was Apple's very 1st employee and then later visitor store.
- sean andersen
The Apple Campus and the Apple Store within the campus. I was there last year, but the store was closed. It's not open until 9pm like other stores. It closes at 5pm, which I think is kind of stupid. I bet it is the first store to get the new products when Apple cooks up something new.
- Danny Minick
And they have the "I visited the mothership" T-shirts :-P
- Rasmus Lauridsen
Tweak Today is one of the coolest sites I have come across in a long time. The concept is pretty simple: every day users of the site are called on to accomplish a specific mission. Missions are submitted and voted on by the users. The mission with the highest score gets taken from the mission queue and scheduled one day in advance. - http://thenextweb.com/2009...
Oh, I see, people submit them. I just figured it out right before you posted, Mike.
- Kamilah Gill
They did end up with a nice selection of murals for the current mission. Are there any other things like this around? Maybe like Illustration Friday or something?
- Kamilah Gill
Kamilah: I can't think of anything off the top of my head. This site is sort of neat though. Will have to do some digging to see what else is out there :)
- Mike Bracco
"Tweak today" - that doesn't sound at all like a druggie site.
- Andrew C
Most awesomest line: "Initially due to go live in June, the launch was delayed due to pirate activity." I'm sure the MPAA and RIAA will try to spin it with a different definition of "pirates".
- Andy Bakun
Ok, I have 5,061 subscribers. Seems crazy high for the engagement I see on my stream. Let's see how many of you actually exist around these parts: Comment plz! (Remember when I got called out a few months ago for not participating enough on FF? It worked!)
but I'm not a subscriber :) You can't really know, because as people comment this entry, all their followers get the "friend of a friend" item in their feed. Go figure who among those participants are subscribed to you.
- Jérôme Flipo
Sarrita - You do realize you're going to pull more than just your subscribers right? We're blasting this out to all our friends of friends too.
- Matthew DeVries
I have to admit, it's pretty fun to watch you guys comment in real-time. Good thing I have nothing else to do all day. Matthew DeV- yeah, I know, not a perfect system. I guess my point is that FF sub numbers are misleading, there are a lot of DOA accounts!!
- Sarah Lane
Loved you on AOTS1000. How was the Chalula?
- GMar
I feel Marty thinks TWiF is getting to be a real pain in the butt. Maybe you could all convince Leo to move it to San Fran? I'm sure he'd get even better guests/hosts to move to a 24/7 format...?
- Jude
Hello Sarah. I think yours was the first feed I subscribed to when I joined FF.
- Thomas
just so we're clear on this... i'm not commenting because you asked... i'm commenting because i want to
- Chris Heath
Matthew DeV- I'll pass along! Jude- hmm, I'll think about that one. Chris H- FINE! BE THAT WAY!
- Sarah Lane
Well I'm not hanging on every word, but I enjoy your stuff.
- Chris Menning
I am alive and well, how are you doing?
- Gary Oswald
Thanks Sarah. You have a standing invitation to be on our show and just chat about whatever happens on FriendFeed, tech, etc. DM me if you are interested and we will make it happen. (also we have a room/group on FF http://friendfeed.com/ffunder... )
- Josh Haley
FFundercats: Diggnation minus the cult of personality?
- Daniel J. Pritchett
Daniel - there's a live thread (Real time FTW) with the podcast, and direct interaction with that thread. I usually have Friday plans, but when I don't it's a supremely fun time.
- Matthew DeVries
Hurrah! Nice to see you posting here, even if it isn't for anything interesting.
- Kenton
Hullo there...you are still in my main feed... :)
- JA Castillo
John W- oh, I'm sure they exist somewhere, just wondering if it's here, too. ;) Chris M- casual enjoyment is enough for me! Kenton- oh please, this is riveting stuff! (I'm subscribing left and right due to this conversation, so thanks for speaking up and helping me find you!)
- Sarah Lane
Yes, I remember when you got called out a few months back for not participating. It was me that called you out. I refer to that, now deleted post, as "The Emperor's New Clothes" post. After I was condemned for daring to ask why cewebrity accounts on FriendFeed were given such an inordinate amount of attention considering there's no reciprocation on the part of the poster, my question...
- Christopher Harley
Sarah - I've enjoyed your posts as I see them float down the stream :)
- Jennifer Dittrich
Mike N- it counts for a sub from me! Although the first thing I saw was a post about your laptop, your mom, and porn. Let's see how this relationship goes. :)
- Sarah Lane
Yet another try at creating the longest thread on FF? ;)
- Holger Eilhard
I'm listening, but I don't know what to say.
- Donald Forth
Well, this is certainly a nice hefty thread... but I think I've made the point that clearly the large majority of my followers aren't actually paying attention (for example, my BFF Kim Kardashian). :)
- Sarah Lane
She is just jealous that you get to hang with Martin on Fridays.
- Eric Geller
made the best of day.... who the hell are you?
- Noah David Simon
Sarah Lane is the wife of Leo Laporte of Twit Live. Her son is Kevin Rose of Digg fame. And she is only 30.
- Mark
...and I'm supposed to know that? how can her son be of Digg if she is 30?
- Noah David Simon
Only if you've used the internet for more than 8 minutes in the last decade.
- Matthew DeVries
twif rocks, U & sargent are halarious. ive been watching since techTv days. Martin's cadillac RIP
- echostreamer
all I know is this woman has issues that people are following her... and I wasn't following her till she had issues. what a paradox! ....wait a minute... she sounds like a feminist!
- Noah David Simon
If that's all you know, then that's all you read, but there's more to know and you've just decided not to assimilate it. Say Luh Vee.
- Matthew DeVries
martins lobster tweet was hilarious and so was your calling him out. Also "who Tila Tiquilla?" was great line. been watching since techtv. follow me if you'd like on FF and Twitter @echostreamers
- echostreamer
love to listen to your on Twit network. Since I installed FF on computer, I see your streams more. usually I click on links that people post if it seems interesting to me. usually don't comment though. keep it up!
- kent williams
Hello. You've been on my favorites list for a while now. I'm just sparatic about my interaction, and often get distracted by stuff like Sims 3 and WoW when at the computer.
- Tony, Paradox of FF
after looking at the bios in this thread, if every1 in this thread started a tech company together, im pretty sure it would replace google tomorow. im not sure i am even qualified to be in this conversation
- echostreamer
Ok, now I *have* to go participate in a Current TV happy hour. Boo hoo, unlucky me. Will check back later. Thx to everybody who reached out so far. It's great to have those of you not already on my radar, on my radar. :)
- Sarah Lane
How will I explain this to my grand children?
- barce
from iPhone
You're going to have to try a lot harder to get rid of us.
- Gus Cuddy
from iPod
I think it's safe to say that this was a success
- Steve Poland
Gus- I don't want to get rid of you! Silly Gus.
- Sarah Lane
Of course you don't. Heh. Naw, just kiddin. And you don't know how many times I've been called Silly Gus. I think it has a certain ring to it.
- Gus Cuddy
from iPod
I'm not in your stream, your not in my stream, and still everything is lively.
- Amit Morson
I am not a subscriber, nor do I have any idea what your normal content is like, but I can imagine that some percentage of your subscribers did so purely because your avatar is an attractive woman (and you have a females name). I'm not saying this to belittle your contributions; just sharing an observation of male behavior. -- huh, I just went and looked at your profile (I had never heard of you). I'll add your celebrity status as another reason people might follow without planning on engaging.
- Bill Rawlinson
Hello. I'm not a subscriber, but since someone I follow commented, I felt the need to say "Hi" too. Hello from Washington, DC. The only times I comment on FriendFeed are: 1) it's funny, 2) it's about dogs, 3) it's about cutting-edge tech. Since you called out the "lurkers" on FF, I'm here. ;)
- Ken & Kiyomi
Whew! Just catching up on all your lovely comments. Thanks everyone! Now, we're only missing about 4,600 folks. Send out the search party! Kidding, kidding.... I was just really curious as to who was actually around and paying attention. >^__^< <----- my first ASCII cat ever
- Sarah Lane
Thomas, http://friendfeed.com/sarahla... or http://friendfeed.com/sarahla... will have comment boxes at the bottom always so you don't even need to click - opening the entry/item in it's own window is the key (clicking the timestamp like josh haley said will do that) then if you want the clean embed version you just add ?embed=1 to the url, or click the timestamp again - it's that simple
- Chris Heath
The only way to follow someone is if you follow fewer than 5,061 'people'
- Terris Linenbach
Hello from Cambridgeshire, Englandshire. Now, where do I put the stamp on this thing?
- Ben Aldhouse
Terris- no, that's the number of people subscribed to me... I can't imagine following 5,061 people! Think of the real-time scrolling! Aaaah!
- Sarah Lane
Well, it *was* the number of people subscribed to me. A few more now.. hi everyone!
- Sarah Lane
Tell us about the beginning of this FF post grandpa! Well kids, when I was a young man, Sarah Lane posted a question about having five thousand followers... (long old man story) ... and the post survives to this day, in the year 2074. Back when this thread started, the machines hadn't taken over yet...

Welcome to the JUNGLE! I've finally decided on which cloud space to use - JungleDisk - Prime Amazon3 & Rackspace http://www.jungledisk.com/ However, there's a lot of choices out there, how's every one else's experience with "the cloud" been? Which services have you tried? Benefits vs Downsides? etc
The pricing is flat on comparable too.
- sofarsoShawn
I've got a Mobile Me account. Works fine for me.
- Kate Foy
Was looking at that too,but for work they won't let me use my iPhone, strictly berry for security reasons
- sofarsoShawn
Trying out JungleDisk now. Seems cheaper than Dropbox.
- Beau Liening
IT'S HAWWWWWT! as I've chosen so far so good!
- sofarsoShawn
The workgroup offering from JD works great. I am using it with 4 boxes at the moment. I've been very happy with S3 so far, but would really like to compare with Rackspace.

from BuddyFeed
we are pretty much 100% on amazon web services right now - when I went looking a year ago it was the best deal around. I might go hunting around later, but right now I totally love the freedom and flexibility of AWS for all my school department computing needs.
- Dan Morrill AKA Techwag
AWS A2/A3? comparable price points; myself I'm looking for storage, not websevice
- sofarsoShawn
Just signed up for JungleDisk myself. Waiting for my initial 30+ GB backup to finish. I like that I can map a drive to it from any of my machines.
