On Friday, February 13, the official Unix calendar will pass a very geeky milestone. POSIX, the official time-keeping method for Unix, which is measured in the number of seconds that have passed since the clock started ticking at midnight on January 1, 1970 (not including leap seconds), will hit 1234567890.

I missed it when it was all ones not going to miss this one!

You can see all the items that someone likes and comments on. Here's all the items that Dave Winer has both "liked" and "commented" on: http://friendfeed.com/search...
- Robert Scoble
Want to track any of these searches as a persistent feed you can subscribe to in your reader, and get new results as they happen? Just add "&format=atom" (without the quotes) to the end of the search URL, et violå! :-) A tasty feed for your aggregator.
- Josh Bancroft
Just realized it would be great to have a range for likes... I wanted to an "eclectic" stuff I Liked search... but you can only search for stuff with more than X likes or X comments...
- Brian Roy
We still need more features for managing, analyzing, filtering, manipulating, visualizing and getting a handle on Friendfeed search results. I would like to see a single hard number for the total results at the top of the results. List view of results. Multi-column list view of results. Incremental searching/filtering on results (quick views on sub-results). Calendar/date navigation through results. Sorting results by various criteria, including number of comments and likes. Etc.
- Sean McBride
I'd like to see the option to search on anything *apart* from your feed. That'll be useful.
- Kol Tregaskes
I disagree with you Mona, I really like their new design. It feels a bit cleaner, and ultimately, it's not that important what it looks like so long as it works.
- Will Higgins™
the favicon - GAWD AWFUL! The earlier lowercase 'g' was much better. Will, looks matter to a lot of people who, like me, don't wanna spend 9 hours everyday looking at UGLY! And I'm talking about software in general not just gmail.
- vijay
totally agree with you on the Google designs needing a fresh new team!
- Susan Beebe
I actually like the Gmail buttons but I agree with you about everything else.
- Brandon
I agree with jocoda ... the buttons feel wrong!
- Brandon
If the buttons actually fit with whatever theme you have installed...right now they don't at all and they do look out of place. I like the holiday logos, though! *whisper* I even liked the Jackson Pollock one. */whisper*
- Jandy
Jandy LOL My issue with the Jackson Pollock one was it looked sloppy and out of place - just like the buttons and exactly like the buttons. I don't know what's wrong with them. :(

The buttons were 1996 buttons before the redesign, now they feel more modern. You guys hate change don't you? :)
- Bwana ☠
They're too stuck together - plus I'm on a Mac, so the buttons were already like jelly buttons (or whatever the name for those are)

Aqua... I hate aqua buttons, so I welcome to new ones. I see what you mean about spacing, but it doesn't bother me
- Bwana ☠
It's not universal, either. I think their attempt to be different and go 'square' miserable FAILed. So not a fan of Google like I used to be. Sad tiems. :(

OMG That is FUNNY. Maybe I will put them under citizen's arrest LOL

:) I'm wasn't a fan of the aqua either but there is no hierarchy up there in the buttons.
- Andrew Smith
They just need to theme the buttons, that's all. Like I have the Ninja theme now, and the chat box, the label box, etc, are ninja-themed. If they'd apply the same theme to the buttons, it'd all be good. I'm assuming the buttons look the same in all the themes, which is NOT good. That's the point of themes. In my no-nonsense standard-theme work account, the buttons look fine.
- Jandy
It's the attention to details - or the lack thereof, that bugs the crap out of me. Almost everything looks almost sloppy and the button spacing only tops the cake. But I do agree, they're not theme specific, which defeats the purpose of, well, themes...

Mona, the Beta tag gives you a license to plop new features like this without caring about the big picture. Google abuses it. It's a love/hate relationship
- Bwana ☠
Incredibly creative idea! Not a fan of theirs but I'll grab the app just to check it out!
- Jess
I wasn't a fan before tonight either. Like what I've listened to so far though, and the app itself is just soooo well executed ...
- Patrick Jordan
I'm a big fan of Death Cab, and this is a really cool and very tech savvy move by them. Very impressive!
- David Adam
This is very cool for a big band like Death Cab who has a huge fan base, but i think it will become a great tool for lesser known bands to engage their community.
- Ron Toledo
@ Ron exactly - I think this can be a great tool for all bands who have the means to do it. I think all bands should do this, and they should all go hire the excellent developers who did this app :)
- Patrick Jordan
In a newsgang earlier this month I sugested that bands could make an iPhone app that would be like having the liner notes. Steve gillmor thought the liner notes are what is missing for him to buy an album on iTunes.
- Christian Burns
@ Christian - I guess this one is liner notes on steroids in some ways ...
- Patrick Jordan
It is a nice idea, however I don't think Ping.FM would be willing to shell out for the storage and bandwidth hits they'd take. Right now I imagine it's somewhat maintainable. To move to what FriendFeed has would be an incredible effort.
- John Long
The image above shows a netbook Asus EEEPC 1000H running on Google’s mobile operating system Android. Huh? You thought Android was for mobile phones, right? Well, as we’ve written before, Google is planning to use Android for any device — not just the mobile phones.

You are a nut Bwana, and that has to be somewhat frightening when you turn on the lights in a dark room not expecting to see a 10 foot YOU

Whats funny is that this post still has legs after 36 hours
- Christian Burns
What's funny is that people say they saw it in friend feed with the friendfeed commenting which can only be done in friend feed. I guess it's at least a clear vote.
- Mick Liubinskas
in google reader. pretty cool feature to see which post my friends commented on. and the number of clicks to get to the comment via a friend from the feedreader is still to high.
- Max Friedrich Hartmann
Almost always on Hahlo, because I read Twitters alot through my ipod Touch.
- Lisa Lee
I could say FF - but only because it hit my screen a bit earlier than looking through the twitter stream and because I had forgotten to unsub your twitter stream in FF as I follow you on Twitter. Same with links - I do click them where I see them first, but that is not indicative of a patter. [only reason to answer here? more than 140 chars ...]

I completely agree! We're so fast to criticize a tool when we get attached to it and it's not there, but not often so fast to praise when they make huge improvements or do something right.
