"Isn't it sad that right above this story is an ad for a Teen Safe Driver Program offered by American Family Insurance!!! I wonder how many people paid attention to that! I think the program involves installing a cam to monitor activities inside and outside the car when the teen is driving. Apparently a video clip is captured 10 secs before and after "an incident" for review by a driving school coach so parents can be informed. And I believe the program requires no extra cost. Sounds like a great PARENT BENEFIT to me. Bad habits, cell phone use, texting, drinking, and other distractions can be caught and remedied earlier. I am sorry to hear about what happened to Heather. I also feel bad for the friend Heather was texting to at the time of the crash. What a shame. I applaud Senator Eide for curbing cell phone use while driving.
