Sad there was no Mini update. iWork and iLife updates look good.
- Will King
Apple Store is down? hope they aren't hosted the same place as MacRumors ;-)

MG (& everybody else) - whadda ya think? Another special event in March?
- Christian Messer
Aside from the 17" MBP which we knew was coming, and the extended battery life, it was all software. Disappointing 'cause everyone's always eager to buy the latest new shiny Apple hardware. :)
- Dan Hsiao
disappointed, who cares about iLife. Picasa does it in their beta.
- Ryan
great news in the form iphoto updates, imovie updates and itunes drm-free but disappointed with no new macmini
- Kiran Patchigolla
boring, disappointing - tony bennett - really?
- Colin
Actually pleased with the lack of hardware updates. Less $, less waste.
- Dave Ferrick
better processor to handle 1080p video, ability to add internet video sources like Hulu, Fox, Veemeoh, Qik etc....if you see video available for purchase on iTunes, be able to click to buy ad free, Dashboard overlay to be able to use widgets OR the ability to use iPhone/iPod Touch apps on the big screen and control with the iPhone/iPod Touch. And sell the older model at an entry point of $99.
- Paul Schreiber
pleased for apple or pleased for consumers? I always end up disappointed because I anticipate too much, nothing compares to when the iphone was launched
- Franz Sittampalam
seriously disappointed. Very little new for *macs*.

Basically some software upgrades and DRM free (the 17" macbook was a given)
- Mark Philpot
Nice software upgrades, and, erm, that's about it.

"I hate to say it, but trying to OD on Lunesta (eszopiclone) is just going to give you a *big* head of hurt for about a week...after you wake up. In about 12 hours. If it was a suicide attempt, it was pretty lame."

"They're not man-rated. And until they demonstrate a lot greater reliability, it's not even a thought. A few years of re-supply launches without issue might get them to the point where they can start thinking about adapting a CEV or somesuch. But SpaceX isn't really going for the tourist industry or the Orbital X-Prize (AFAIK), so they're not a threat to Branson."

"ah whaaaaaa? Who is this Karl Rove person? I know, this must be the alien substitute and they have the real one locked away in the mothership!"

"Cydia, Bossprefs, and Categories have also all been updated. Cycorder and Qik work fine and I could have sworn seeing someone post a modified framework. ;) I've had some spurious reboots/crashes during sync, but my 16Gb 1st gen recovered itself quite nicely. I have all my winterboard themes back and running nicely."

"you seem to have missed the part that even with the strong La Nina this year, which lowered average temperature .1C (making it the "coldest" of the last 8 years), this was still the *10th hottest year since 1850* This is very strong evidence of global climate change -- even La Nina can't bring temperatures down anywhere near what used to be average. So, go ahead and stick your head back in the sand, at the very least we might get a fossil and some petrochemicals out of your remains in a few thousand years."

"is it just me or are the lips *really* off? I guess it could be the blockiness of the video or the motioncap, but they just felt off. The eyes didn't bother me as much..."

"It's one of the two "live" remaining Victors, last used operationally during Desert Storm. Looking closely you can see from the nose artwork that it's the "Teasin' Tina". Amazing that it's got 91,000lbs of offload fuel capacity. Anyone know why it still has the intakes on the top of the fuselage? In their original role (i guess) as nuke detectors, I thought they would have been removed during the conversion to tankers."

"(for those with damage to their parahippocampal gyrus) Now we just need to get sarcasm tags included in HTML 5 as an "Universal Access" tag for those with brain damage! ;)"

"Ditto. My congressmen (Udall - NM) is in a heated runoff for a senate seat (Domenici's), so I give him double kudos for having some cojones in an election year. It's still small comfort. Anyone know the current status on the Canadian DMCA++? (NZ is starting to look good)"

"I always thought "they" were watching, but geez, unfettered access to all the core system at, ahem, "fail-orizon"? Billing, customer databases, live calls, everything....*always*? No wonder the telecoms are screaming for retroactive immunity!"
