"Defo made me smile. It's easy to control what's what on FB. You just need to take more care on who you actually add on there. Of course that is only a partially and restrictive solution. You have to though I think make a decision on how to balance it all. Also, don't let others use your shit! ;)"

"Things don't happen overnight. Symbian has been 3 years in the waiting to try and modernise itself, to minimal success. Android is now in it's xx amount of iteration and upgrades. I agree it will take time, Android is just an exception to the rule for now. I'd rather see more choices out there than just having to choose between one or two major players, this usually is better for in the end the consumer."

"I think a bit of foresight is needed here Mark. I wouldn't ask anyone to go and purchase a WP7 right now, in Q4 2011 when multitasking, browser and other improvements have been implemented why not? I'll be in the queue to see what its like then. I was one of the first bloggers to get my hands on a WP7 device, even in it's infancy and the frustrations that came with it, I could see the potential os the OS. The problem for most is they have trouble moving on and thinking forward."

"It's pretty simple; Nokia has been trying to convert Symbian from a non touch to a touch OS for over 3 years now. With limited success. The ageing UI, lack of apps, dev support and profitability it makes not only a business sense to move to an OS built from scratch and one that has one of the cleanest UIs in the market with already a pretty good selection of apps was not a hard choice to make. It may be hard for most of the Nokia / Symbian faithful to take right now, but what would you rather see, Nokia trying and likely failing with Symbian / MeeGo strategy and fading into non existence or partnering up with with one of the biggest companies in the world and opening up even bigger avenues of profitability. Functionality wise yes, Symbian owns WP7 all day long. Experience wise it falls flat on it's face."

"What has Paris Hilton got to do with this? LOL. You're making no sense in anything you're saying. I know you guys are in love with Symbian and would make love to it in a heartbeat, but seriously get over it. Not sure if you've ever actually played with a WP7 device for longer than 2 minutes, but as I said above; yes it does lack many many things we take for granted in Symbian, but it's a "new" OS being built, not a finished product. What Nokia is investing is potential whilst using little resources themselves. Symbian has carried Nokia long long way, but it;s an old dying donkey now. Get off it and ride a car."

"The relationship between the two isn't as black and white as Nokia = Hardware Microsoft = Software. Nokia will have a lot more control over the WP7 features, you don't actually believe Nokia just signed up with Microsoft's demands without any of their own? OVI Maps and a few other Nokia services will be part of WP7, Microsoft needs these as their solutions suck. It's more a co-partnership than just signing up for an Android license as Nokia would have had to do if they went that route."

"I'm actually excited about this and of something Nokia is doing, it's been 2 years since they've got me interested. Nokia + WP7 shows much more promise than Symbian + MeeGo ever could. This is the smallest gamble Nokia could have taken to join the modern mobile scene. All Nokia fans need to start moving forward, Symbian and MeeGo is dead, look forward to using one of the best looking OS' out there today. Yes it lacks many many features, but it's a platform which is being ironed out from the bottom up."

"I'm not so sure Ryan, I think WebOS can stand-up against the other boys, still not convinced if the hardware will. Even with the upgraded camera, physically the Pre2 looks just like the Pre. Made from similar materials etc..."

"Replace the word War in this case with the competition for smartphone supremacy. Are you implying that Technology is just like, wait, us? Makes sense once you look at it that way. Different levels of intelligent devices aimed at their intended audiences."

"Whether the Nexus One has touch or a physical keyboard is down to preference. There are those that prefer physical keys to those that don't. Whilst there are those that could use both. That issue is solely down to pure preference and the ability to adapt. Nokia can lose the smartphone war for the next 5 years and it won't have an impact on their share figures that drastic. They're the Microsoft of the mobile world. Because their low end and mid range handsets sell like no one's business. But for the high end smartphone segment they're lacking now and will be for the next 2 years. Whilst Nokia plays catchup, they're rivals aren't exactly going to sit around and wait for them to catchup. In the short term yes, Nokia have lost the smart phone war, won't stop them from "making" handsets, they're obliged to from a business point. Nokia can be out of the running for smartphone supremacy for the next 5 years and then catchup and become profitable and back in the game, because they're so big...."

"If the Nexus is failing only in the camera department in comparison to the Nokias then it's not such a major issue. We all know it takes a little partnership with a decent lens developer to sort that out. What you are saying in this post then is: Nokia is good at taking pictures and sharing, but lacks in every other department. This is something I've painfully had to watch happen over the years. They've been listening to the wrong people asking for the wrong features. For that they've paid a price in the last 2 years ( on the top end anyway). They've won the camera race, but lost the smart phone war."

"Was awesome playing with you guys and meeting some of you in person. We should do this again. By then I'll hopefully be an Xbox master like on the PS3."
