"Excellent round-up. The search partner control has been a particular want of mine for many years. It certainly isn't a case of turning all off. As you mention Brad, sometimes they perform really well."

"Dulux paint voucher now arrived from ICI so that's a result, at least. Well done to ICI for sorting this out without making a fuss and thanks to Craig for mentioning this in his comment."

"2012 final score was 48-9 to the Army. Obviously the usual 'banter' about the number of Fijians in the Army side. Not entirely sure what the answer is apart from, if they can serve, they can play. Another good day but the Twickenham organisation didn't seem as good as normal. I think we're all use to queuing by now but this seemed particularly bad. Hopefully just a blip."

"Thanks Roland. The clues are certainly out there! In terms of PPC costs, I think they'll continue to rise regardless of what's happening on the SEO front. Google have the market and can therefore let price inflation carry on. It will continue getting harder for smaller companies to compete but hopefully there are still plenty of opportunities if done right."

"Credit where credit is due. I've just had a very nice email from Dulux customer services. Not admitting any liability, of course, but they are sending a voucher to get some new paint as a gesture of goodwill. Well done them; no arguing or silliness, just good customer service."

"I have sent an email to the Dulux address given above (4 days ago) but have yet to receive a reply. I will update here should I get one."

"Good article and I agree with the sentiment. Unfortunately, it's going to be impossible to stop the spread of nonsense. Just look at the number of SEO conferences and made-up awards. All the time the industry is gorging itself on this bullshit, it's just going to continue getting worse."

"Thank you for sharing these shortcuts for AdWords Editor. You need to check the link in the footer of the PDF however. Appears to be broken."

"My vote would be for feature. Google don't do bugs, do they? :-) It makes perfect sense given the search intent 'though interesting to compare results replacing BBC with ITV or Sky."

"It is a shame when company's keeping 'fixing something' that isn't broken. I found the same with TweetDeck. Switched over to the new version and have regretted it ever since!"

"I think it's the same throughout football (thinking of Rangers now). All very happy to take the salaries and bonuses in the good times but seemingly no responsibility when it goes wrong. Parallels with bankers, me thinks!"

"Well the deal was done and closed successfully. I was a first time seller selling to a first time buyer (in Flippa, at least) but despite this the transaction went smoothly. Luckily, the buyer is a great guy who helped the process go really smoothly. We used the services of Escrow.com splitting the modest fees and this just ensured both parties were protected. I can definitely recommend Flippa."

"My first discovery about the Flippa domain auction process is that when the auction gets to the planned end, every time someone adds a new bid, four hours are automatically added to the end time. Whilst this is good as it prevents auction sniping, it does mean you might need to stay awake at odd times to approve bids! You can set bidders to be automatically accepted but, of course, a new bidder may arrive at any time. Different time zones means you might need to have some kind of auction monitoring shift in place! :-)"
