Just what _the hell_ was he hoping to do, and did he swallow anything .. like his tongue, or some teeth, perhaps? So many questions...
- Wayne Smallman
What is the white object comes out from his head?

Funny, but it's a good thing FF is real-time now, so this GIF will soon disappear from view.
- Grey Drane
Classic clip from 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Good times.
- Quinton
That was the winner from "So You Think You Can SLAM Dance?" ;)
- Jericho
OUCH! The So You Think You Can Dance auditions are always good for at least a couple of these. :) I need to find out when that's starting up again...or I could just calculate based on how many more weeks of American Idol there are, I guess.
- Jandy
lmao!!! knew that would pop up sometime!!!
- Rob Sellen :o)
Makes it look like he never practiced at all! At least he'll get his 15 minutes of fame, though I'm imagining he didn't want that kind.
- Michael Turner
Trying to figure out how to get animated gifs in my feed so I can get rid of all those pesky followers.
- Hayes Haugen
Nothing better then an animated faceplant
- Will Higgins™
I hate watching these videos because I keep wondering what happened after, what was the damage!!.. Damn it there is no point in watching if you dont know the result.
- denizoktar
his site is pretty cool though i wish photographers wouldn't watermark their pictures. i know why they do it, but it takes away from the really great photos
- Cee Bee
I rode a 20 footer like that in Hawaii on a boogie board... Dropped me straight onto the sand, and then proceeded to drench me with 3 million gallons of water... In retrospect, I'm probably lucky to be alive right now.
- LarchOye
that might be "thrilling" the first time around, but after continually getting pounded like that i'm sure it can become a bit of a "challenge" to deal with
- Cee Bee
I like your taste in music Thomas. Nice read.
- Simon Wicks
I really liked Pandora when I could get it. Unfortunately they've since stopped the service outside the US due to licensing reasons. I'm using Spotify now which is also a great music service and you have complete control over your playlist (but not as good recommendations).
- Niklas Morberg
Great write-up Thomas, thanks... I was amazed to read that they actually buy and rip their own CDs. For non mainstream stuff (and the music from India, as in your post) I could understand this, but you'd think that for a large percentage of music it would be more efficient (and cheaper) to buy and download on-line.
- TranceMist
I think ripping the songs probably is the fastest and easiest way to deal with them. They have bar code scanners that pull all the information down. By ripping them themselves they probably ensure quality high bit rate copies. They use customized software that they wrote to do this and it's probably part of their inventory system as well.
- Thomas Hawk
Hi everybody... Thomas, thanks for stopping by last week it was great to see you and the post turned out really great. @TranceMist believe it or not the license attached to downloads typically precludes you from using them in any commercial setting.
- Tom Conrad
You meet someone online who lives a long distance away. You've made a great connection with this person. It gets serious and you want to take things further. Would you move that long distance to be with them?
Any distance is too much unless you've talked it over with the someone first. Otherwise it can get creepy, fast.
- Chris Charabaruk
That person would have to be very special and you would have definitely have met in person many times at least. I'm not sure I would but never been put in that position.
- Kol Tregaskes
Yes, assuming that there's been face-to-face meetings. Although the Partner-in-Crime made the move from Manitoba to Maryland.
- Nine Ferdinand
does she do that 'special' thing with her tongue?
- Morgan
I've been in sort of this situation before. Didn't work out well. Long distance never works out too well.
- Mike Nayyar
Nope. I've seen it fall apart too many times.
- Anika
Also agree with Lindsey. But you also shouldn't give up anything super important to you in the move. The other person should be willing to do the same. Then you do whichever seems best for both of you.
- Jaemi Kehoe
Sadly, Shawn, no-one specific. :-( It would be a nice thought though. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Jaemi, I think that's a good way to look at it.
- Kol Tregaskes
Depends on where they lived. If they lived somewhere cool, maybe. :)
- Jandy
Hehe, yeah like New Zealand or Canada for me. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
I wouldn't move except to a very small list of cities I know I could be happy in. Yes, yes, "when you're in love everywhere is heaven". Whatevs. I need a city.
- Andrew C (✓)
I agree with Shevonne but wonder how you can tell that you love someone from online communications. seems there is ample room for mosjudgement.
- Martha
Kol, follow your heart and your mind. Talk on the phone, send some snail-mail, and have some face-to-face visits. One thing that helps Scott & me is that we've known each other from online forums since 1997, so we didn't have much we could hide from each other. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
- Ordinarybug Heather
Shawn, the chance would be a fine thing. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Heather, it was merely a question, sadly no such luck for me. :-( But thank you though. Yes the relationship would certainly need a long time to grow.
- Kol Tregaskes
depends... now my sons are getting older.. i probably would :o)
- Rob Sellen :o)
My wife and I dated long distance for 4.5 years, so in time I would move to be together, but the courtship can be done at a distance. If you do move, you need to do it understanding that things might not work out.
- RAPatton
To those who said yes, would you move to another country?
- Kol Tregaskes
I'd say I would be fairly happy to move to anywhere in the UK or Ireland but not so sure about to another country, especially one where the native language is not English. That's not to say I would not want to learn another language, that would be great, but makes the decision perhaps a little harder.
- Kol Tregaskes
Shevonne, yep, nice, sunny, near a beach, hehe. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
I'm in love with a Canadian gal I've never met! Linked thru FB... she's funny cute and just about my age...and 1300 miles away. Yeah, if I had the discretionary dough, I'd go see her...
- Russell Wagner
I think it depends on a number of things. If you have visited and spent a large amount of time with each other then maybe. I think it being in another country with different language and culture makes it a BIG move and you need to make sure you are ready for it.
- Adrian
Also Thomas isn't it more important the lenses they have? I could never fall for anyone but a Canon shooter
- Adrian
I think that the fantasy many times is better than the reality. Who wants to deal with all that daily stuff?!? Better to follow sofarsoshawn's advice and keep it virtual.
- Victoria Plautia
True story: I met the partner-in-crime online. We talked. I visited him for 3 days. A few months later he visited me for about 8 days. 11 months after the first time we talked online, he moved from Canada and in with me. Sometimes it really does just work.
- Nine Ferdinand
It is my personal experience that Nikon camera owners are better in bed than Canon owners. Just sayin'.

Was in Belgium, now in South Africa, I don't regret a single bit of it...

@Martha, sorry. Couldn't resist a little tweak. My sense of humor.
- Rod Bauer
from twhirl
@Shevone, Kol and everyone else thinking that way, never think "I would do anything for love". If things go wrong you not only regret it, you would think you are stupid. I have done that mistake once, I regreted the whole thing. Good thing for me was that "once is a mistake, twice you are stupid". Seriously think with the head. About moving to another country with a different language, I have done it as well, it can get really hard and you will only get through
- Cibeles
@Cibeles I am idealistic and have been hurt by this thinking. However, I don't have any regrets because it has shaped me into the person I am today, and if I wouldn't have been hurt, then I wouldn't learn for when I find my true love.
- Shevonne
if you are willing to learn the language regardless of the situation and are thrilled with a different culture and different language. Even if you move to a English speaking country you will find that things are different from USA, beware of that and just move if you know where you are getting into. I have seen people extremely alienated just because the cultural differences and I'm talking about Spaniards and other Europeans in Ireland. It's not just the language, it's that invisible every day net around
- Cibeles
@shevonne it's good that you don't feel any regrets. In my case I just it was stupid, and that the lesson to be learnt is to never do things thinking with the heart. I don't feel any regrets if I fail due to ignorance, you learn from the experience but thinking with the heart and the head saying don't believe in that person. I felt completely stupid, glad anyway that you feel it's a learning experience. I guess it depends on the person and your personality
- Cibeles
You always feel stupid, but then you pick yourself up. =D
- Shevonne
Given this is similar to my current situation, it's an easy yes!

"They are claiming that in part, the demise of the magazine was contributed to by CEO Mitch Fox and his $500,000 a year salary, the expensive salespeople he hired, launching a travel title called everywhere and preparing a fashion magazine. If that’s true, it’s simply run of the mill magazine making hubris where people assume something that works at one level can be scaled to the next. Maybe this is also the end of an era where a powerful sales staff with serious marketing dollars can bring in more advertising than great content and loyal readers on its own. Back to the income statement. In May 08 here are the numbers:"

seems like JPG Magazine was losing an awful lot of money per month.

I'm just glad to see that they are getting in influx of money. I hope they get everything back on track. Oh, and get a more reasonably priced CEO. http://www.mediapost.com/publica...

I had always liked how Friendfeed imported Flickr but had never considered using it like this. Making changes now to make it happen. Cheers for the tip

So basically, there isn't a clear winner yet. And Apple's policies are limiting its usefulness. Bummer, because this is the killer app for a lot of people.

Explanation: "In January 2007, people from Perth, Australia gathered on a local beach to watch a sky light up with delights near and far. Nearby, fireworks exploded as part of Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a thunderstorm flashed in the distance. Near the image center, though, seen through clouds, was the most unusual sight of all: Comet McNaught. The...

Absolutely incredible shot! Then again some of the best shots on the web come from NASA, National Geographic, Discovery and, of course, Hawk :)
- Charlie Anzman
Not to be too cynical but that shot seems to good to be true -- I wonder if there is more processing going on than the text seems to admit.
- Brian Sullivan
I'm going to side with Brian here. What is right: Comet McNaught was that bright in WA (I use to live there), but I checked my attempted pics, they predate this by over a week. I'm sure the comet was only that bright for less than a week. Second, the main Australia Day fireworks occur in Perth City...which isn't near a beach . Maybe it's Leighton Beach with Fremantle to the left...but it doesn't seem right. I did check the weather records though, there was a storm that night, and it's in the right direction
- Duncan Riley
I do hope it is real though...and I forgot how wonderful the environment there is
- Duncan Riley
Duncan, last year both Fremantle and I believe Hillarys held their own fireworks for Australia Day. I myself was trying to guess the location this morning. Being a regular on Leighton beach though it doesn't look familiar so I was thinking it may have been taken to the north of Hillarys. It also made me very nostalgic for Perth :)

Weird, doesn't seem to work in Fluid. Clicking the link quickly shows the loading circle on the right, then does nothing. Works fine in Safari 3.1, though.

Liked just so people see my name when they test it out.
- DeWitt Clinton
Yay! Wasn't this enabled a few months ago too?
- Phil Glockner
What is the sort order before and after expanded?
- Andrew Smith
Andrew: it puts people you are subscribed to first, but reverse ordered by the time of like other than that.
- Bret Taylor
I notice another change. "You" is the first name listed for all the things I've liked in the past. Even those where I haven't clicked on the expand Likes link. This wasn't previously the case. A bit of work on the Likes sort methodology?
- Hutch Carpenter
Noticed that too, Hutch: do you think it's sorting based on order of likes now? Obviously, with "You" always being first and outside the order.
- Mark Trapp
Mark - definitely putting "you" out front is a change. I still don't know the basis for ranking the other Likes. Maybe the guys will comment here. Or blog it.
- Hutch Carpenter
a long list of names isn't too useful; why dont you bold the ones that are my friends?
- peter
peter: all your friends are listed first.
- Bret Taylor
More recent likes come first, so as new friends "Like" things, you see them.
- Bret Taylor
Peter, bolding is a great idea, not just here, but in general. It would be an easy way to find friends that you have not yet subscribed to.
- Scott Beale
+1 for bolding names that I'm already subscribed to.
- Mike Doeff
I tweaked the sort order to put "you" first, but apparently I forgot to tell Bret.
- Jim Norris
Indeed Shey, http://ffapps.com/showlikes/ is no longer required. Seeing a list of people who liked a particular entry is a great way to explore and discover users who share similar interests.
