"Agreed: you don’t want to be controversial just for the sake of controversy, nor do you want to offend unless you really do feel strongly. Andrea Hill´s last blog ..Top Ten Blog Posts of 2009"

"I think similar to #5: “You’ve Given Them Too Much Information” is “You don’t give them anything to respond to”. There is a reason why controversial posts wrack up more comments: people have opinions to share. Andrea Hill´s last blog ..Throwing it Against the Wall"

@ariherzog what do you think about twittercounter and the twitterremote?
"Hi Danny – I came across your blog from Ari Herzog’s list of commentators and started poking around. Thanks for this list: I was only familiar with Brett’s blog before coming across this list. Having the privilege to know him personally (he was one of the first people I met when I moved to Colorado last fall), I agree he’s underrated, and I look forward to checking out some of the other folks you’ve mentioned. "In some ways, I think ‘real-time search’ was only incorporated so that Google remains the “one-stop shop” for search. I may glance at the tweets in a SERP, but I’m much more likely to scroll down if I’m actually conducting research. Just like how paid search results are sometimes taken with a grain of salt, so too I think are real-time resuls: their benefit is timeliness, with the obvious trade-off of content vetting. "Ari: I scanned the documentation, and didn’t see that organizational use was verboten, so I trust that this post won’t get me flagged for some sort of violation of service! Recently I was in Mexico and then in Barbados, and I really appreciated the chance to check my messages via the computer. I didn’t even turn on my cell while abroad. I’m not sure you wouldn’t get hit with roaming charges? I do have a friend who’ll be doing a worldwide tour, and I recommended she reserve a number: she can then always check the messages at a cyber-cafe, and call someone back from wherever she is, even without having a cell with her."
