Looks like Dell found a use for their Intel kickback money. As a user of Compellent (CML) storage systems and Dell servers, it'll be interesting to see how Dell integrates 3PAR's products and technology given their own branded products, Dell/EMC products, and Equallogic. 3PAR appears to be losing money as of late, and before this huge boost in stock value had about the market cap of Compellent. Another article has analysts thinking Dell will try to purchase Compellent as well, but if they're going to be aquired, I'd rather it be by a company with a focused storage strategy.
