I'm thinking... the FriendFeed team will be sooo busy with Facebook's R&D that they won't have enough time for FriendFeed. They will have a lot of stuff on their plate within months. "You can't serve two masters".
on the other hand AJB, they have far more manpower now than before. It's easy for them to push out the plan to a team of engineers and have them execute it.

I agree vijay. However, nobody codes better and cares more like Paul, Bret, Benjamin et al.

What's with the negative talk? It's been only 2 days, the devs have showed great commitment to FF in the past, and they'll still be aboard. Sheesh. Also, did you notice the new "Add Comment" feature that was launched yesterday, AFTER the acquisition?
- LANjackal
LANjackal, that's not a feature. That's just a link added when there are more than 3 comments.

AJ: the point is, clearly development hasn't stopped. Give the guys some credit. Paul especially has said he's working to keep FF alive as a separate site. If you really had that little faith in the team, why have to participated this much to this point?

Don't get me wrong LANjackal. I love the FF team as I have loved this community. I'm just pointing out some observations.

AJ: you haven't observed anything yet. You're just guessing about what *may* happen, without giving any credit to what *has* happened so far

Being bought by and under the personal-data-whoring control of Facebook is enough, isn't it? The end isn't near--it's here, imo.

I wouldn't mind being a guinea pig for new features if it kept FF around as a separate site and gave it bleeding edge capability

I'm speaking from experience having been a part of 3 acquisitions. The new boss will always have the final say.
