IMAP is still running fine. If you are using Thunderbird, the setup is easy as 123. The only catch to this is if you've enabled your IMAP on Gmail. If not, you're out of luck.

Working for me. Their update from 1:02pm Pacific (30 minutes ago) says: "Google Mail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users within the next 1.2 hours. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. Users can access their email via IMAP or POP. You can find instructions for how to do this here: http://mail.google.com/support.... "
