This is sad, I remember watching these and being inspired as a kid to study science. Have you seen this piece on Seb Schmoller's blog http://bit.ly/CKctx where he talks about Sugata Mitra and how one school put kids in groups of four with a laptop and they watched TED Talks and their career aspirations changed from footballer and model to scientist, architect and thinker! Mitra talks about a lack of role models provided by BBC et al. I think he has a point! - Natalie Lafferty

How sad we have the crown jewels of sport which are required by law to be shown on free television but no equivalent for science. Shame on the RI (and more specifically, it's former director). - AJCann

Very sad that they have not only moved channel but also moved to a 7pm primetime spot - which probably ensures that the audience is reduced further still. I haven't seen the first episode yet but am looking forward to catch up on 4OD.
