Actually, it has nothing to do with my data plan. My voice plan was a grandfathered Suncom plan, and getting the new phone is akin to renewing my contract and therefore having to get an up to date plan. Which makes sense, and I'm pleased that they didn't require me to make the changes during the first 30 days. Off to review my usage to get the cheapest plan I can =D
