Stupid Things Unemployed Men Don't Have To Think About: I have to stop wearing socks until I find a job. Why? Socks leave a little dent around your ankles that is visible underneath pantyhose and look funky when wearing a skirt suit to an interview.

why wear a skirt to an interview? i say this cos my wife never did.

Rene, you'd be amazed at the seemingly stupid details that interviewers notice. These aren't tight socks, just normal athletic socks in the proper size; they've always done this to me. The dent doesn't last long, just a few hours, but I've been called in to interview with only an hour or two of notice before. And I wear a skirt suit to an interview because that's the suit I have.

Yes, I wear a skirt to interviews: my suit is a skirt suit.

This is usually only a problem with formal socks (dark)types.I only wear casual socks.Just wear comfortable socks.
