CHANGE FOR CHANGE - Consider the gauntlet thrown, people!

Yes, I'm throwing the gauntlet at you ;-) It was time for me to take my change, ones, and fives to the bank anyways so I figured I'd lead by example on this one. There you see my change, there you see how I roll it, and there is my confirmation email of my donation: this month's $134.50 just went to my local homeless shelter instead of to a new toy for me. So my challenge to all of you participating: beat me. I want to see if everyone's change can add up to more than $134.50. If you don't spend cash, consider donating $7 (the equivalent of $1 in change per day, which is what my coins average). - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
at the current rate, I'll have to collect R1492.95... - Kim
Kim, I'm not asking that any one individual collect $134.50. I'm just challenging enough people to participate that as a group there's that much. If 20 people collect their change or donate $7, that's $140 right there... I'm just curious to see if we can do it. - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Über LIKE! This is what makes me keep faith in human beings. I'm so angry about people that can't just think for a moment, some minutes, can't be serious *with themselves*, and that keep on laughing on everything! Or come and bring "savant" arguments about economy, marketing, and me,me,me,me... or memes. Be courageous. Make it real. Stop jumping arround act as a man/woman. - directeur from NoiseRiver
Tina give me a decent place to put it and you've got it (seriously, send me a link to a cause. I'm out of the loop on this sort of thing). - Steve Spalding
I'll get you some links, but if you want something local (which is where I wanted my money to go), the phone book may prove useful. Oh, and while I have your attention Steve: the History of Blogging FF profile is what got me onto FF in the first place. Keep meaning to tell you that =) - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Love what is happening here in FriendFeed world - http://3dognite.wordpress.com/2008... Perhaps if we all pull our change together- it will add up! - michael sean wright
Thanks Tina! I'm really glad to hear that. :) I got ahead of myself and put my $10 into Miracle Hill. Not quite local to me (it's regional), but after doing a bit of reading it seems like a good cause. Also re-shared it. I hope this catches on. - Steve Spalding
@Tina, You're the sh_t girl! Let me tell you this( its a good thing to be the sh_t, than to smell like a piece of sh_t). I'm so proud to know!1 ya*hugs* *terrorist fist punch* - Terence
This is admirable Tina. I think directeur is doing something very similar. - DO ANYBODY NO MONIQUE
Monique, we're all doing the same thing :) Tina's GREAT idea is one amongs others. she IS the sh_t like Terence said :) People, please help Tina, JMS, Nicefishfilms, me and others promote this project: http://friendfeed.com/rooms... - directeur
Oh, this is a part of that project? I saw NiceFishFilms post yesterday! Fantastic job folks. Whoever organized this, or whoever wants to sit down for a couple questions for a blog post -- send me an email at sbspalding blah gmail blah com. Seriously, any or all of you. - Steve Spalding
Brian, the only reason I'm sharing the amount is to foster a good competitive spirit and see if it will get enough people to save their change to try and beat me. With that said, I enjoy taking a month's worth of change and stuffing Salvation Army buckets with it around the holidays =) This year, I'm thinking about handing every kid walking into the local dollar store $5 until I run out, because last year I saw a child try to buy all his Christmas presents there with $10... - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
I never use my change. It drives my friends nuts but I have piles of it all over the apt. This is a perfect reason to get my act together and clean up a little. I'm gonna do it through the end of November and then donate what I've got then. - ♥patricia♥
Brian, no worries sir, but please don't call me a saint! I just want to shine a light on the fact that even with all we have to worry about in our own situations it's still easy think of others who are worse off and could use what little bit someone can spare to give. Hopefully my change just bought 50+ Thanksgiving dinners, and that thought is too awesome for words =D - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Pea, that's awesome! Ooooh, put it all in a big tempered glass bowl (like a kitchen mixing bowl). It makes the most satisfying sound when you throw it in there =D Plus, it's easier to scoop out when it comes time to roll it. - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
In preparation for the move out west, I naturally packed up all my stuff and I managed to gather about 200 dollars worth of change. Gave it to the lil sis cuz she's always broke. Don't think I'll manage that in a month but we'll see. Yay. I'm excited. It's my goal to get to a point where I'm giving at least 10% of my annual salary to charity and I'm not there yet but this helps so thank you for the push. - ♥patricia♥
