There's a greater chance that I'll install Dr. DOS before I install Chrome OS.
por que? - Jeremy (cropmarks)
Two reasons. First, the snark: I haven't drank the Google kool-aid; second, the other snark: Whether I install Dr. DOS or Chrome OS, I get about the same results out of it: something that I will look at for a few minutes but never, ever use. - Akiva Moskovitz
I like things that work. Google makes products I use that work. Call it kool-aid; I call it productivity. I swim in the kool-aid. - Jeremy (cropmarks)
Yeah, Google Koolaid > Mac Koolaid (What about MS-Bob? ) - Matthew DeVries
I think it's all about branding. If this were coming from some unknown source, people wouldn't care nearly as much. - Akiva Moskovitz
That is a distinct possibility - but chrome is mighty. On the other hand Launchy > Gdesktop. - Jeremy (cropmarks)
They wouldn't care at all. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want Google in control of what I run on my computer. - Jordan Hofker
Jordan, just you wait. Once the underdog veneer fully washes off of Google, people will turn against them just like they're currently turning against Apple. People in America love it when something is successful as long as it isn't TOO successful. - Akiva Moskovitz
So then accelerating that arc should be in your interest? - Matthew DeVries
That's just it: I don't have an interest. I'm like Jeremy: I use what works for me. And I don't choose software based on politics: I couldn't give a crap less about FOSS and I won't not use a Microsoft product just because it's Microsoft. Google is my primary mail and maps provider but that's about it. Like Jordan, I certainly don't want Google in control of everything. Diversification is essential. - Akiva Moskovitz
I like Google, because they don't actually seem to do/create/run anything. They just keep setting up amorphous playgrounds and let the kids decide how the toys should be used. All these properties and still, the only thing they make a dime on is simple targeted highly specific to your interest text ads. Everything the create is just to put that little bitty bit of text in front of your eyes from time to time. I like that philosophy a whole lot. - Matthew DeVries
