My point re: the word "mature" is that it's a bit too broad. My 5-year old niece may not exhibit epic stubbornness, but she is not a mature person either. My 70-year old uncle may not agree with me politically, and can be very stubborn, but remains a mature human for whom I have great respect. In other words, we're just painting with too broad a brush here. Mutual respect for one another is a trait that requires a certain level of compassion, and this is often a function of one's personality unless they've taken the effort to cultivate it. - G. Sigh
