@DSandsGovAB what I'm getting at is that #abgov is sending out conflicting messages that could, by some, be interpreted as hypocrisy #ableg
@DSandsGovAB I'm wondering, are any studies indicating this is the case & a thorough examination of all the options (with costs)?
@DSandsGovAB well, why don't we get government to borrow money for all Alberta businesses then? Not sure that'd ever happen nor should it.
@DSandsGovAB what if we spent $5.6-20 billion on energy efficiency & distributed power generation?
@DSandsGovAB so, you're saying that unless we spend this $5.6-20 billion, we'll be in brown/black out?
@DSandsGovAB the point I'm making is where are we going to get more bang for our buck?
@DSandsGovAB cities typically have development cost charges that developers pay to build in new areas where new infrastructure is needed.
@DSandsGovAB while bringing in stranded co-gen may be good, do we need a $5.6b line to do it?
@DSandsGovAB but that won't stop me. :) What I'm wondering is why the power generators don't build the lines & borrow the $5.6B themselves?
@DSandsGovAB the estimate I've heard is that all the lines will cost $20 billion including #ymm line http://www.examiner.com/x-27218...
@DSandsGovAB so, why would this user pay principal not apply to power generators & major industrial users? #ableg
@DSandsGovAB we don't build toll roads in #alberta? That's kind of what the power lines are: electrical toll roads. Pay for use. :)
@DSandsGovAB I'd asked before about a user pay system. Seems to be a common refrain, so why not get the users: generators & industry to pay?
@DSandsGovAB thanks for getting back to me, but isn't it a done deal on #bill50? Is there any real point to discussing it? No public debate!
@DSandsGovAB if you figure only 20% of usage is by taxpayers, why not lower their usage through efficiency & distributed generation?
@DSandsGovAB why does the #abgov have to be the one to do the borrowing? (Just trying to understand the government's rationale here) #ableg
@CommonSenseSoc hehe I'm just trying to figure it all out. I don't think taxpayers should be footing the bill in any way.
@morgoid if I were to play D&D again, I'd likely be a drunken character of some sort, but I'd be method acting.
Hillary & Obama: "Gosh, that is nice." Showing his Blackberry? http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp...
@mspixieriot next week you'll have a better shot though because apparently half our team will be playing D&D! WTF? D&D over trivia?
@mspixieriot trivia's way more fun & I haven't played D&D since high school. :)
@thisiswilson freelancing is nice in some ways, steady paycheque is nice too. With this economy, reliability isn't a bad thing.
@mspixieriot we were letting you get a close ;)
@remarkk I don't mind. Go ahead and post it if you like. :)
@scotthennig well, there's never that many anyway. Who attends the AGM?
@scotthennig so you require well in excess of 50% +1 to determine your policies? Does this happen with every policy & issue?
@kamazonka did you see my comment on your FB status? We're blurrily famous! (Canadian air cures all!)
@scotthennig so is the CTF in favour of spending $8-20 billion of taxpayer dollars?
@scotthennig are all CTF decisions on policy made by a democratic vote of your supporters?
@Tamara_Stecyk and the work is different every day!
