Are there any boundaries on friendfeed? Do people just masturbate and tell everyone about it?
Sure there are boundaries, but if I told you about them I'd have to kill you. - Jimminy, CoG of FF

If gold supplies are rising, why aren't prices falling? - CSMonitor.com
"Over that period the world has produced—or, more accurately, recovered—far more gold than anyone actually wanted to use. Since 2002, for example, total demand for gold from goldsmiths and jewelers, and dentists, and general industry, has come to about 22,500 tonnes. But during the same period, more than 29,000 tonnes has come on to the market" - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet

Our Journey Toward Public EV Quick-Charging Begins | Autopia | Wired.com
"Vacaville is the first city in the United States to install a public DC quick-charge (aka Level 3) station. The 50-kilowatt charger, about the size of a gas pump, can “fill” an EV’s battery to 80 percent in around half an hour. That’s glacial compared to filling your gas tank, but EV advocates see quick chargers being installed at restaurants, supermarkets and other places you’ll leave the car for awhile." - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet

"If there were ever any doubt that the news could get worse for BP(BP), that doubt was likely erased on Tuesday. BP shares closed down 15%, and at the close of Tuesday trading, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder officially announced that a criminal probe had been launched in the BP oil spill crisis." - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet

BP Begins Third Attempt to Contain Spill - WSJ.com
"The latest procedure involves slicing off the leaking pipe at the top of the well's broken blow-out preventer, placing a cap over the leak and channeling the captured oil and gas to a vessel on the surface. BP officials said the procedure could take from four days to a week, and it already has two different caps on the ocean floor, ready to be deployed. BP didn't try this approach sooner because it feared the kinks in the pipe still attached to the blowout preventer were acting as a choke on the leak. Removing the pipe could lead to a more violent surge of oil." - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet

Olympics Features: Rogge encourages an African bid to move for 2020 summer Games - http://www.sportsfeatures.com/olympic...
"In 1997 Cape Town was also up against another strong contender Rome, Italy who also is seriously considering stepping back in the Olympics bidding ring for 2020. Durban, South Africa is widely seen as a strong potential candidate. But much hinges on the successful and seamless hosting of the FIFA World Cup this June 11-July 11 in the nation. The pressure will be on but it appears they could be contemplating following in Rio de Janeiro’s footsteps, however this time the final proof of their capabilities looms just weeks away." - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet

""Oil has been spewing into the ocean for 30 days yet the true extent of this spill remains a mystery," an angry Markey told the hearing yesterday. "BP thinks this is their ocean so they should control information about the spill." The Obama administration too was criticised for sticking to its early estimates of 5,000 barrels a day — a much lower estimate than those produced by independent scientists." - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet

"This trail provides an opportunity to visit Summit Peak at 1,958 feet, the highest point in the park. A 40-ft. observation tower provides an outstanding view of the park as well as the surrounding area . Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Apostle Islands, and Copper Peak are a few of the sights that can be seen on a clear day. A viewing deck on the way up to the summit provides a panorama of the Little Carp River valley and ranks as one of the best views of the park." - Albert Moonstone from Bookmarklet
