I was thinking of buying it, but after reading this, I'm hesitant. What didn't you like about it?

The app is as good as any GPS out there but the reality is that the data for Puerto Rico really suck. You can't find anything unless you know the exact address. For instance, the example everyone uses to talk about their GPS function is finding the closest Starbucks. Well I was parked AT Starbucks and it never found it. Also the naming of the streets in the map is awful. For instance I...

Thanks for trying it out for us, and I hope Apple is cooperative with the refund. Another point for Google Maps is that on top of being free, any one can go to maps.google and make their own custom maps. If you make them public, anyone searching for business will see your new POIs. So I urge everyone to do their part and contribute to the borGoogle and help keep it up to date :)

Let me clarify my statement. I would (love to) buy the TomTom GPS app if it were $9.99. At $99.00 I think it's ridiculously expensive given it's handicaps with Puerto Rico locations.

I agree. I'd happily pay $9.99 for an app that at least talks me through to the predefined waypoints on my iPhone contacts. But for $99.99 I'd expect a full, populated POI database. This is why they should have gone with a saner base price ($20.00?) and let you use In-App Purchases to buy individual state maps ($9.99 for main highways and such, up to $50 for a full, every possible POI...

Speaking of Google Maps. That's another problem too. It says that there's a street that goes through the yard of the neighbor behind me and connect the two "urbanizations" together. This is a big error on their part and when using Google Maps for directions on my iPhone it wants me to drive over a wall and over my neighbors yard to get to my destination. Google claims that you can "fix...

Albizu's comment is probably more a criticism towards the state of GPS devices in general. I have a $150 Garmin unit in my car and it's pretty much the same: incomplete maps (though not too bad), wrong names, small listing of businesses, etc. And even worse, like everyone said, these devices don't feed off POI web data like Google does. What you're buying here, though, (as Rafy said) is...

"Bro. If you read his post he writes that although he HAS BACKUPS he is solely dependent on The Planet to replace his hard drive. Something he cannot possibly do remotely. So backup is not the issue."

"For some of you that think that our government would never do anything like this you might want to read up on the recently declassified documents on Operation NorthWoods. The link below not only offers information about how the top military officials back in the 60's planned to kill American citizens in American soil to create support to invade Cuba but also has scans of the original documents detailing it all. This is a must read especially if you are inclined to believe that everything the government does is good. This will be a shock for many of you as this, unlike some other stories that you might call conspiracy theories, is well documented and have been found to be absolutely true. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/northwo..."
