The Embedder’s Guide does contain a lot of good information you can use to get started embedding SpiderMonkey into your application. It’s worth a read if you’re looking for a decent scripting engine for your app. - Alcides
I'm waiting for the 901... black if possible... - Paulo Gomes
Yeah, I would swap for a 901... but it's more expensive, not the kind of money I'm wanting to give for a laptop when I already have one. 901's are already being sold here (I guess: Canau, yourse is a 901, right?), but only saw it in white. - Marcos Marado
I'd go for a 901, but I don't need this kind of netbook. Anyway, mediamarkt e box, you have 901 linux and windows both at 399 and the windows version has 20 giga against linux's 12. - Alcides
i've seen it around at 370€ in some stores... but only for september... - Paulo Gomes
mine is a 901 pearly white. 399 @ Worten/Colombo. 370 for September probably. Linux = 4Gb sda + 16Gb sdb (still fiddling :-) ) - but looks like two SSD's. - Carlos Canau
Canau: so the 901 Linux version comes with 20Gb? Even tho, it's weird that the same version, with the same specs and only different OS's (Linux or Windows) come at the same price... I wonder if that's really what's going on, and if it's a "Portuguese phenomena" or if it's being sold that way worldwide... - Marcos Marado via fftogo
<quote>The EeePC 901 will be sold in two varieties. The Windows XP model gets 12GB of storage, while the Linux model gets 20GB of storage. We'd recommend buying the Linux model, and if you already have a valid licence installing a copy of Windows XP.</quote> http://www.zdnet.com.au/review... - Carlos Canau
until now... the battery is lasting a LOT more than the 701... - Carlos Canau
Canau: did you use your 701 backup for 901? Or are you "starting from scratch" there? I'm waiting for having both 701 and "good internet connection" to install Debian on the 701, so until now I'm still playing with Xandros. Another question about 901: do you already know (or are you already sure) that 901 comes with Debian? If so, you might want to have debian official repositories, plus the "debian for eee pc" ones... - Marcos Marado via fftogo
no. I'm going from scratch. And I think that with this one, at least for now, I'll go "official". No pure Debian. Here's a bunch of sw to download from Asus: http://eeedownload.asus.com - Carlos Canau
and the backups aren't compatible... - Carlos Canau
But those repositories are "full and complete"? Or are they like the ones for 701? 'cause the ones for 701 are quite useless, you can only use them to upgrade what you want, but not really for installing new stuff... - Marcos Marado via fftogo
yah... still playing. I looks that I will need to "attach" to the "extra" repos ;-) - Carlos Canau

- Alcides
that's bullshit, specially because he wasn't talking about windows but about MS SQL and ASP... - Marcos Marado via fftogo
Actually, I posted that before he mentioned ASP and MS SQL, but even with that some times you have some limitations. I had experience a client using MS-SQL with PHC, and he wouldn't want to change. - Alcides
then, he doesn't .need. a windows specific solution, he just already have one and doesn't need to change it - Marcos Marado via fftogo
